Chapter 1529: Making Things Difficult

It was obvious that this was a melee two-handed sword.

Its properties were godly, along with the unique effects, and it had an eye-catching aesthetic. Every single category that could raise its value had been ticked.

A legendary weapon would naturally have its own story, such as Frostmourne and Ashbringer...

There were two letters carved into the hilt of the sword – AL, which probably stood for Anduin Lothar. Therefore, the Brotherhood that was mentioned in the name Ashkandi: Greatsword of the Brotherhood would be the Brotherhood of the Horse.

Anduin Lothar was entrusted with many important tasks in his lifetime, one of which was the Seventh President of the Brotherhood of the Horse. This was why the sword had the Brotherhood in its name.

As a courageous warrior, Lothar had already become a prominent royal guard in his younger days.

After being promoted to a knight, he joined the Brotherhood of the Horse. In one of the missions to recover the Holy Book, Lothar was heavily injured while trapped in the Deadmines. After many months, he was finally saved by a rescue party and returned safely. However, he had lost the sword that his father had given to him.

The Iron Forge and Stormwind City both agreed to forge a new weapon for this legendary warrior in the name of the Alliance.

When the Horde invaded Azeroth, Lothar, as the highest-ranked officer in the kingdom, received the help of Garona and Medivh’s disciple Khadgar. Lothar managed to ambush the Tower of Medivh and used this sword to kill his own friend, who was like a brother to him. Of course, at that time, Medivh had already completely fallen due to Sargeras’ influence.

Although Lothar and Khadgar managed to kill the demon-possessed Medivh, regaining the kingdom of Azeroth was not yet achieved. Elwynn Forest was burnt down by the fires from the battles, while King Llane was killed in Stormwind Castle.

Lothar wanted to return and retake Stormwind Castle right away, so he immediately rode back with his full forces.

Lothar mustered all the remaining soldiers and marched towards the northside of Lordaeron to gain the support of King Terenas. Then, Lothar and his army marched southwards. At that time, he was already the successor to Azeroth’s throne. Not only did he gain the approval of all citizens and warriors, but he also gained the approval of all the other human kings. When the human race realised the imminent threat was the Horde, each individual kingdom had allied together and united under the rule of Anduin Lothar.

Although the Elves and Dwarves also joined the Alliance back then, the Bloodlust curses and the legendary evil weapon Demon Soul gave the Horde a powerful edge in their battles against the Humans. Even King Perenolde, a member of the Alliance, was losing against Orgrim.

After this, the tables were turned suddenly. In the years prior to this, Gul’dan entered a deep slumber after the invasion of Azeroth. During this time, Orgrim used this opportunity to kill the puppet Chieftain Blackhand, which consequently destroyed Gul’dan’s Shadow Gathering. Although Gul’dan survived that battle, his hatred remained. Truthfully speaking, the Warlock Gul’dan didn’t really care about the clash with the Alliance. Instead, he saved up all his strength and energy to search for the Tomb of Sargeras. When the main force of the Horde, led by Orgrim, was attacking the kingdom of Lordaeron, this greedy Warlock slowly retreated from the battle and arranged a naval squad to go the Great Sea.

Gul’dan’s betrayal was eventually made known. As soon as this news was confirmed, Anduin Lothar gathered every bit of manpower he could and launched a counterattack. Lothar swore to avenge King Llane. With the assistance of his right-hand man, Uther as well as others such as Turalyon, the Alliance of all the Humans, Dwarves and High Elves not only managed to defeat Chieftain Orgrim’s army, but they also managed to force them out of Lordaeron and towards the southern area, leaving the Azeroth mainland.

The Alliance continued to march southwards and liberated Khaz Modan. Then, the Iron Forge’s Dwarves and the Gnomes from Gnomeregan also joined the Alliance’s army.

As the highest-ranked general in the whole Alliance, Anduin Lothar began to gather his men to launch an attack on the most important point. This point was the Blackrock Spires which was situated in the central area of Azeroth.

Unfortunately, Lothar died during the battle in the lower parts of the Spires. At the same time, Orgrim also suffered severe injuries. Surprisingly, Lothar’s death boosted the morale and determination of all the allied warriors, after which they managed to destroy the Blackrock Spires under the command of Turalyon and Uther. The Alliance warriors then pursued the remaining Horde warriors. At the end of it all, the Dark Portal was destroyed and the Horde Chieftain Orgrim became the Alliance’s captive.

Now, Ashkandi: Greatsword of the Brotherhood was in the hands of Nefarian. The human version of Nefarian loved this sword, but he was unable to wield it. This was because his goal was to destroy the world that this sword sought to protect.

Now that this sword was in Lu Li’s hands, there were many Warriors and Paladins lining up to be its suitor.

Lu Li had a problem here. He began to be frustrated over why Wandering and Sky Moon couldn’t clear this Instance Dungeon themselves. That way, this AL sword wouldn’t be his problem and that he wouldn’t be blaming himself no matter who it ended up with.

However, he was the commander and the squad leader now. He was the decision maker.

Furthermore, the squad composition was a little complicated as well. Not only were there Ruling Sword members, but there were also many Drizzle Court and Peerless City members. Both Deadly Gold Underpants and Green Flag Wine from Peerless City were professional players who could use this weapon.

In the first season of the championship battle of the Individual Battle Competition, Green Flag Wine managed to kill Gale Legion’s Gaze in one strike with this sword, which cemented his nickname as the ‘Tire Killer’.

Of course, this wasn’t a sword that anyone could wield.

Moonlight, Deadly Gold Underpants, Green Flag Wine and Her Tears were the most likely to grab this item. There were more people who wanted it, but their guild points could not compare to these four.

The first three were professional players, while Her Tears was someone who was held in high regard in Ruling Sword. He made massive contributions to the guild. Usually, if Ruling Sword members were bullied out in the wild, Her Tears would be the one to rally a group and regain the guild’s reputation. Everyone called him the Leader of Wild Battles.

Water Fairy was unlikely to say anything.

This wasn’t a normal item. At the very least, she could not take away the rights of Deadly Gold Underpants and Green Flag Wine to bid for this item.

Lu Li also didn’t want any of these four to obtain this item.
