Chapter 1205: Twenty Warriors

When Lu Li returned to the soul of the dead Horde hero, he was still resting there quietly. Lu Li thought that perhaps he hadn’t moved at all.
He handed in the quest and was rewarded with some experience and reputation. Lu Li had almost saved up enough reputation points to learn two empowerment skills. Of course, he could only afford to empower his normal skills. His reputation points still weren’t high enough to empower an ultimate skill.
The night was growing late, and the red soil on the Blasted Lands had already shifted in colour. The two moons of Azeroth had crept up into the night sky.
Lu Li enjoyed the sunrise in Dawn as well as the moon, which was much brighter than it was in real life.
No matter his location, whether it be amongst the mists of the Moonlight Forest, or the yellow wind and sand of the Plaguelands, the moon always shone softly and quietly. Even the silver tone of the Silverpine Forest looked extraordinary because of the moonlight.
The soul knelt on the floor as he prayed and spirits began to emerge, one by one.
The eighteen spirits glistened under the moonlight and went from furious to quiet. It was as if they had all heard the prayers of the soul and finally melted into the moonlight one by one, disappearing
“Your team comes in a group of twenty. There should be one more – where is he?” Lu Li asked.
“You’ve already helped me so much...” the soul said hesitantly, “I don’t have much that I can give you in return. I feel guilty to let you put yourself in danger again for me.”
“I’m not doing this for any kind of reward,” Lu Li lied blindly, then continued with generosity in his voice, “In this battle against the demon, countless of Alliance and Horde brothers have died in the wilderness. I can often hear their helpless whispers and if I could do something for them, perhaps I’d feel a lot better.”
“You have such a kind soul...”
The soul was touched and finally decided to continue with the quest.
“My friend, one of my men is still unaccounted for, lost somewhere in the Blasted Lands. I am talking about Lieutenant Kirith of course. As I mentioned earlier, we were both imprisoned and tortured by Allistarj, but poor Kirith – his strength of will faltered. I could hear the experiments from my cage; the tortured screams rang through the halls of the cave. That was the last I saw or heard of Kirith...”
“I think I understand. I should go and search for him, right?” Lu Li asked, then let out a sigh of relief.
“Yes, my friend... if you’re willing to, help me find out where Kirith is.”
“Gladly, my friend,” Lu Li replied without any hesitation.
He had been stuck on this part in his previous life. It wasn’t because he felt like the soul had nothing to reward him; it was because the soul thought he wasn’t strong enough. Lu Li read the guide after and found out why. It was because he had died once during the previous process of the quest.
If he died even once, the quest line would stop here.
In this life, the excuse that the soul gave was probably due to his ridiculously low Charisma. However, obtaining the quest didn’t mean that Lu Li now had no worries ahead of him. There were still many possibilities in this line of quests and he could only stumble in the dark for each part.
The next part of the quest was very simple, since Lu Li still had the guide for this part.
The next location of the quest was in a cave, filled with strong demons. Lu Li probably couldn’t obtain any quests in his previous life because he wouldn’t be able to defeat these demons. However, after he reincarnated, he was now a different person. In the eyes of these demons, perhaps Lu Li was even more of a demon than they were.
This place really wasn’t Lu Li’s favourite; it was lit by flames that made the whole cave shine bright red. The fire burned and heat gathered in the air. Any sweat that dripped down would immediately turn to steam and the leather that Lu Li wore also became hot and unbearable.
Stealth in this kind of environment became a lot more difficult.
Demons also had high detection skills, so Lu Li had to fight his way in.
As he progressed deeper and deeper into the cave, the corpses behind him built up.
The soul still had some hopes hidden deep within him. He had hoped that his last brother would be alive or at least free from being tortured, like his eighteen other comrades.
Lu Li quickly neared the deepest part of the cave.
The answer was about to be revealed. Lu Li looked calmly at the Hellhound in the depths of the cave and sighed quietly. A miracle was like an hallucination. People always lied to themselves about its existence, but when you approached closer, you would realize that a miracle never happened.
A giant Hellhound!
From another perspective, miracles weren’t just a hallucination for Lu Li. His reincarnation was a miracle in itself.
The Hellhound was just a witness to this miracle. When it, a clear soul escaped from it. Lu Li wasn’t anxious at all as this was who he was looking for – Kirith, a forgotten Warrior.
“I’ve waited for so long, friend. Are my comrades okay?”
“No, they’ve all died. Only one of them – probably your commander – is still wandering in the wild. I’m an adventurer that he has hired.”
Lu Li didn’t try to make up any white lies; he believed that this dead soul would be able to understand.
“Captain...” Kirith sighed as he shook his head, then continued, “He probably believed that this was all his fault. He has always been that kind of person.”
“That’s right. So, what do I have to do to complete this quest?”
“Let us not beat around the bush; my time here is limited,” Kirith said. “You must destroy the triad of power which protects the demon lord, Razelikh. Doing so will not be as simple a task as freeing a damned soul.”
“I’m prepared to fight.”
Lu Li knew that Kirith didn’t quite approve of his strength; he should have brought someone with him like Water Fairy. It had been a few days since they had seen each other and Lu Li often thought of her in his spare time.
“I like your bravery, Elf.”
Kirith opened his mouth and smiled; there was no disappointment or despair in his expression.
“You see, each of Razelikh’s underlings wears a third of a talisman of Razelikh’s creation around their neck, the very same talisman you will need in order to summon the archdemon. Return to Trebor and tell him what is required to summon Razelikh. He will be able to instruct you further.”
So the name of that soul was Trebor...
Lu Li silently remembered the name and watched as Kirith disappeared slowly before him.
These were the last of Kirith’s words.
