Chapter 1833 - 1931: Blessing in Disguise

Chapter 1833: Chapter 1931: Blessing in Disguise

This was the first Ancient Wilderness relic that Fang Lin found on the ancient battlefield, a mysterious black sword of unknown material and origin.

But Fang Lin now doubted that the increasing number of Bone Demons appearing here might be related to the sword he found.

Sure enough, when Fang Lin took out this sword, those Bone Demons behind him immediately seemed to go crazy, each one letting out deafening roars and frantically chasing Fang Lin and the woman in the black dress.

The black sword in Fang Lin’s hand also emitted a faint humming sound, as if attracting those Bone Demons to follow.

Seeing this, Fang Lin understood the inexplicable connection between the black sword and the Bone Demons.

But knowing this seemed to be of no use, the Bone Demons remained, growing more frenzied and angry, evidently stronger than before.

"What did you do? How did you provoke them so fiercely?" The woman in the black dress asked Fang Lin, her lips turning white in fear.

Fang Lin ignored her, focusing intently on the black sword in his hand, pondering the relationship between the sword and the Bone Demons behind him.

"Could this sword command the Bone Demons?" Fang Lin entertained the thought, his eyes gleaming as he decided to try imprinting his soul onto the black sword to make it accept him as its master.

Though merely a guess, the current situation left him no choice but to try, for things couldn’t get much worse than they were.

Indeed, as soon as Fang Lin’s soul imprint touched the black sword, the sword resisted, fiercely rejecting his soul imprint and even emitting a burst of Sword Qi to annihilate it.

Fang Lin’s eyes lit up; the sword’s rejection confirmed that it had its own spirit, unwilling to accept Fang Lin as its master.

If it refused to submit, Fang Lin was determined to force it into submission, for only by mastering the sword might he find a way to deal with the frenzied Bone Demons.

Fang Lin continued his attempts, making his soul imprint stronger each time. Initially, the black sword resisted, but soon it yielded.

After all, it’s just a sword, even if endowed with spirit, it couldn’t contend against the current Fang Lin.

Soon, Fang Lin firmly imprinted his soul on the sword, forcing it to recognize him as its master, becoming his possession.

The black sword glowed quietly in Fang Lin’s hand without the slightest disturbance, appearing exceptionally docile.

Fang Lin felt a connection, his face showing a hint of surprise, as he learned the sword’s purpose through his soul imprint.

This sword wasn’t a Divine Weapon but a key to controlling the Bone Demons here, like a command flag, able to order the Bone Demons around.

Fang Lin’s spirits flared, and his gaze towards the Bone Demons no longer held the slightest worry or seriousness, instead showing a bit of eager anticipation.

"Let’s see if this sword can really control the Bone Demons." Fang Lin thought to himself, suddenly stopping, gazing at the surging Bone Demons.

The woman in the black dress was startled, finding it odd that Fang Lin had stopped, but without hesitation, she fled forward alone, not caring whether Fang Lin lived or died.

Facing the dozen Bone Demons charging forward, Fang Lin’s expression was grave. When only one hundred steps away, he waved the black sword in his hand.

Suddenly, the dozen Bone Demons halted, standing still, as if stunned.

Seeing this, Fang Lin was overjoyed.

"This is truly a blessing in disguise!" Fang Lin exclaimed, completely surprised by the huge opportunity in the ancient battlefield, falling into his lap unexpectedly.

The fleeing woman in the black dress, hearing the silence behind her, turned back, seeing the dozen Bone Demons standing still, their posture intriguing.

"What’s going on?" the woman in the black dress was puzzled, as she had literally no escape when pursued relentlessly by the Bone Demons, but now they stood idle.

Connecting Fang Lin’s previous abrupt stop, the woman in the black dress wasn’t foolish, realizing it was probably related to Fang Lin.

She flew to Fang Lin’s side, seeing him holding the black sword, her brow slightly furrowed.

"What did you do?" she inquired of Fang Lin.

Fang Lin ignored her, waving the black sword again. Instantly, the Bone Demons began moving again, trudging slowly towards Fang Lin and her.

The woman in the black dress’s expression changed, thinking the Bone Demons would resume their chase, but noticed their painfully slow movement.

Fang Lin waved again, causing all the Bone Demons to halt and kneel respectfully before him.

This sight made Fang Lin’s breath quicken and left the woman in the black dress staring in disbelief and shock.

Bone Demons kneeling to Fang Lin? The woman couldn’t comprehend it; they were Bone Demons, even more terrifying, over a dozen at the Immortal pinnacle. Why would they kneel to Fang Lin, seeming to worship him?

Fang Lin felt excited, tried pointing the black sword at one Bone Demon, watching it obey his order and step back two paces.

"So that’s how it is!" Fang Lin nearly laughed out loud, confirming that the black sword indeed controlled the Bone Demons. Mastering the black sword meant mastering them, becoming their owner.

But Fang Lin quickly calmed down; mastering the black sword indirectly controlling the Bone Demons, he knew he wouldn’t linger in this era. When returning to later times, what about these Bone Demons? Would they follow him back?

This seemed unrealistic.

Fang Lin was inspired to try opening the Beast Bag, testing if the Bone Demons could be stored inside, so he could take them back to later eras.

The Bone Demons, however, showed no reaction, clearly as non-living creatures, they couldn’t be held within the Beast Bag.

Yet the black sword emitted a glow, merging into the Bone Demons’ bodies, which then vanished, transforming into light streaks entering the black sword.

Fang Lin looked closely, seeing eighteen Skull Marks on the sword’s body, corresponding to the eighteen Bone Demons earlier.
