The Extreme Alchemist of the Mighty Cauldron
Chapter 1716: 1813: Cultivation SealedChapter 1716: Chapter 1813: Cultivation Sealed
When Fang Lin clawed his way out of the grave, a thunderclap echoed across the sky. The fleeting flash of lightning illuminated Fang Lin’s pale face.
“My cultivation…” Fang Lin muttered as he sat on the ground, covered in mud and water, looking thoroughly disheveled.
The most difficult thing for Fang Lin to accept, however, was that he could not sense the slightest trace of his own cultivation.
He clenched his fists. His physical strength remained, but the cultivation of a Great Longevity master had vanished entirely, completely unusable.
At this moment, Fang Lin was incapable of flight, unable to perform any martial arts techniques, or utilize any artifacts.
His body felt hollow, entirely devoid of cultivation—no more than an ordinary person who had never walked the path of martial arts, lacking even the lowest Human Origin level.
“Why has it come to this?” Fang Lin found it hard to believe. After all his efforts in cultivating to the Longevity Realm, how could it disappear in a single night?
He sat amidst the thunderstorm, his heart filled with shock, anger, and anxiety—emotions swirling into a volatile storm within him.
It was as if a wealthy person, adorned in riches, suddenly lost all their fortune overnight and was no different than a beggar on the street. This immense disparity was simply impossible to accept.
That was precisely the kind of blow Fang Lin was facing. From being one of the world’s apex masters with Great Longevity cultivation to losing everything, the fact that Fang Lin hadn’t descended into madness was a testament to his remarkably steadfast heart.
Even for the calmest of individuals, encountering such circumstances would leave them shaken beyond measure.
The storm raged on as Fang Lin struggled to steady himself. He took a deep breath and sat cross-legged amidst the muddy terrain, attempting to activate the Nine Cauldron Skypassing Spell.
This attempt swiftly revealed the crux of his problem.
“Someone has sealed my cultivation!” Fang Lin’s face contorted in shock. He could sense that his cultivation hadn’t simply disappeared into thin air but was instead suppressed by an incomprehensively powerful force.
Every single aperture and meridian within him had been completely blocked by this energy, leaving no gaps, suppressing his cultivation entirely.
Even if Fang Lin tried to forcefully operate his cultivation, it would result in nothing but pain without any release of power.
“What is going on? I’ve already reached the Longevity Realm; even an Immortal-level expert shouldn’t be able to seal my cultivation. How can this force be so overwhelming?” Fang Lin’s gaze darkened as he persistently attempted to break the seal inside him, all to no avail.
Fang Lin recalled the moment before everything went dark. He had been chasing the enigmatic figure formed from the eye-shaped being, and just as he was about to catch up, the mysterious figure suddenly vanished. Immediately after, Fang Lin felt as though he’d been struck by an unseen force, and then everything went blank.
He had awakened only now, unsure of how much time had passed or where he was.
The greatest puzzle that remained for him was why his cultivation had been sealed off.
To Fang Lin, the most likely suspect to have sealed his cultivation was that mysterious figure from earlier. Yet, if this individual’s strength was hidden so profoundly, why choose merely to seal Fang Lin’s cultivation instead of killing him outright? The gesture was puzzlingly peculiar.
Fang Lin tentatively attempted to use the Message Transmitting Jade Slip to contact Dugu Nian, but although he could open the Nine Palace Bag, he was unable to use any of the items within, including the jade slip itself.
If Fang Lin retained even the tiniest thread of cultivation, he would have been able to utilize the jade slip and other items inside the bag. But with absolutely no trace of cultivation remaining, he had no way to activate them.
This left Fang Lin feeling frustrated yet helpless. In resignation, he put the Message Transmitting Jade Slip away.
Upon checking his condition, he found no other anomalies apart from his sealed cultivation and no signs of injury.
Thankfully, while his cultivation was sealed, his True Dragon Indestructible Body remained intact. His physical form hadn’t been affected by the loss of cultivation.
It could be said that even without cultivation, Fang Lin’s robust body still left few threats capable of endangering him. However, the absence of cultivation was a significant disadvantage. If confronted by someone with Great Longevity or Immortal strength, Fang Lin’s chances of survival would plummet.
“Who is that person?” Fang Lin’s mind wrestled with the identity of the enigmatic figure formed by the eye-shaped being.
Initially, Fang Lin had assumed the figure was an enemy—perhaps a Hidden Kill Hall expert, a remnant from an ancient era, or a master from the Sealing Sword Pavilion.
But if they were indeed an enemy, Fang Lin should already have been dead. Instead, the figure had merely sealed his cultivation, leaving him alive. This behavior confused Fang Lin deeply.
He began to suspect that this individual might not be his enemy—or perhaps their purposes and intentions were far more complicated than he could presently fathom.
In the end, Fang Lin felt as though the situation had turned into a tangled web of uncertainties. Especially after viewing the twelve murals in the Ten Thousand Mountains, Fang Lin had thought he was close to uncovering the truth; yet, veils of mystery still clouded his vision, denying him clarity of the final answers.
The storm raged fiercely, rain pouring in torrents as thunder roared through the night. The beasts within the mountains, distressed by the thunderclaps, let out wolf howls and tiger growls that reverberated through the wilderness. If ordinary folk were caught in the midst of this, they’d likely be scared half to death.
Fang Lin, however, remained oblivious to it all as he sat amidst the storm. Even the wild beasts, agitated by the thunder, dared not approach him.
Despite the sealing of Fang Lin’s cultivation, his formidable physical body remained, and the beasts instinctively knew better than to provoke such an untouchable force. Naturally, they kept their distance.
Still, misfortune befell several hunters in the mountains. Alarmed by the thunderstorm, ferocious beasts stormed into the homes of various hunters, injuring some and killing others in their rampage.
The elderly man and his granddaughter Ping’an, who had buried Fang Lin during the day, were untouched by this chaos, spending the night safely in their home without any disturbances from the wild animals.
As dawn broke and the night’s chaos subsided, the feral beasts in the mountains finally calmed down.
In a wooden cabin located halfway up the mountain, the elderly man and Ping’an sat around a fireplace. A fish simmered in a pot above the flames, its broth bubbling as the elderly man tossed in fresh wild mushrooms, enriching the soup’s flavor substantially.
Ping’an’s eyes fixed on the fish with a hint of longing, a small drool of anticipation. Seeing his granddaughter’s eager expression, the elderly man laughed and said, “Don’t rush. We’ll have the fish soon enough.”
The girl named Ping’an nodded. Despite having grown up in the mountains, feasting on a variety of wildlife, her favorite remained her grandfather’s fish soup. Its exquisite taste would brighten little Ping’an’s mood for several days after each indulgence.
Just then, the sound of footsteps arose outside the cabin.
“Is anyone there?” Fang Lin stood outside the wooden cabin, covered head-to-toe in mud, his appearance resembling someone who had just crawled out of a quagmire.
