Chapter 1693: Chapter 1790: You Also Worthy to Slay the Dragon?

The young Taoist flicked his finger, and the heavenly lightning gathered in the firmament, with Fang Lin positioned right in the epicenter.

Even though the lightning had yet to descend, Fang Lin already felt an immensely powerful pressure, and this pressure continued to multiply.

Black White Master had already retreated far into the distance, clearly unwilling to be caught in the impact of the incoming lightning.

Boom!

In the next moment, a blinding ray of lightning crashed down like a massive hammer, ruthlessly striking Fang Lin’s whole body.

If it were an ordinary Martial Artist, even one at the Minor Longevity level, they could be obliterated under such a lightning strike. Even those at the Great Longevity level might escape death but suffer major injuries to their physique.

Fang Lin, however, stood unmoving, allowing the lightning to pummel his flesh, without even blinking his eyes.

Dense strands of lightning tirelessly eroded Fang Lin’s skin and flesh, yet they failed to inflict even the slightest harm, not leaving a single mark on his body.

“Is this all you’ve got?” Fang Lin spoke coldly, and as his bloodline power surged, boundless blood energy dispersed the lightning. Even the thunderclouds deep in the sky seemed unable to withstand Fang Lin’s overwhelming blood aura, appearing on the verge of breaking apart.

The scholars of Confucian Tao were each aghast. Though they had long known Fang Lin’s physical strength was extraordinary, they never imagined it was to such an extent that lightning of such formidable power couldn’t even harm a single strand of his hair.

The young Taoist, however, showed no hint of surprise—his expression remained composed as he waved his hand, summoning the second bolt of lightning.

This second strike was far more terrifying than the first; Fang Lin’s figure was instantly engulfed in the dazzling lightning radiance, as if his entire body was pulverized into oblivion.

Several Great Longevity cultivators present were chilled to the bone by the sheer dreadfulness of the lightning’s power. Even they, should their physiques lack resilience, would face mortal peril.

“It seems Uncle Master’s Lightning Control Secret Art has advanced even further into perfection,” the black-robed Master exclaimed with admiration as he beheld the scene of endless lightning illuminating the sky.

The white-robed Master furrowed his brows slightly. “Fang Lin’s physical might is so formidable that Uncle Master may need to unleash five or more strikes of lightning to possibly injure him.”

The black-robed Master nodded. “Indeed, this youth’s physique is exceptional. Perhaps even the Buddhist Sect’s Perfect Golden Body is not necessarily superior.”

At that moment, amid the lightning radiance, Fang Lin’s figure re-emerged. With a thunderous roar, the myriad flashes of lightning unexpectedly began to flow into Fang Lin’s mouth.

Within moments, all the lightning vanished completely, wholly absorbed into Fang Lin’s body.

Fang Lin deliberately smacked his lips twice, his expression one of obvious disdain.

“Barely edible. Honestly, your lightning isn’t very palatable,” Fang Lin remarked dismissively toward the young Taoist.

The young Taoist froze momentarily, utterly shocked by the sight of Fang Lin consuming such overwhelming lightning power. Was this man even human? Who consumes lightning?

“Got more? Send over a few more. I’m not done yet,” Fang Lin gestured provocatively at the young Taoist, his arrogance appearing utterly intolerable to the scholars of Confucian Tao.

The young Taoist revealed a hint of a smile, and with a wave of his horsetail whisk, a third bolt of lightning appeared.

This time, the lightning condensed into a gigantic purple hand. Its terrifying aura caused the sea below to churn violently, driving countless Sea Beasts to flee in all directions as they sensed the unusual energy.

The gigantic purple hand descended, resembling a colossal mountain bearing down, and slammed fiercely onto Fang Lin.

A thunderous explosion resounded as a thousand-foot wave erupted from the sea. Some Sea Beasts unable to flee in time were struck, turning to charred remains under the engulfing lightning power.

Fang Lin’s figure sank slightly downward—notably different from the previous two strikes, which had failed to make him budge. This showed that the third bolt’s power unmistakably surpassed the previous two.

“Still not enough!” Fang Lin laughed loudly, his fist infused with the combined strength of the True Dragon and Kylin, both primal Exotic Beasts, smashing forward.

The purple hand instantly disintegrated, and countless bolts of lightning scattered in all directions, even reaching the Spirit Martial Chess Sect not far away.

“Not good!” Master Song of the Spirit Martial Chess Sect, nursing injuries, joined forces with his sect’s other experts to block the incoming lightning power.

Thankfully, the scattered lightning had lost much of its potency, less than ten or twenty percent of its original strength. Otherwise, it would have been far harder for Master Song and his companions to fend it off.

“Your physique truly astonishes me,” remarked the young Taoist. “To possess the combined might of the True Dragon and Kylin, infused with the energy of the Demon Clan’s Sacred Tree, and further empowered by the Ancient Flame Emperor’s treasure—such a physique and strength are virtually unmatched in the world today.”

Fang Lin dusted off his clothes. The three successive lightning strikes not only failed to harm him but also granted him secret benefits unnoticed by the others.

Even Fang Lin himself was surprised; though the power of those three strikes was undeniably impressive, enduring their impact caused his Cultivation to advance significantly, already nearing a breakthrough.

Fang Lin sensed that if he endured a few more lightning strikes of greater potency, he might achieve a breakthrough to the Great Longevity stage right then and there.

“It’s time for me to return the favor,” Fang Lin declared with a cold smile, as a Fire Lotus quietly bloomed before him.

The young Taoist didn’t take risks lightly. Yin Yang Two Energies rapidly consolidated around him, and the Black and White Twin Fish Diagram shimmered into existence.

“Go!” Fang Lin tapped the Fire Lotus with his finger, causing it to vanish and reappear directly before the young Taoist, colliding with the Black and White Twin Fish Diagram.

In that instant, flames engulfed the Nine Heavens while the Black and White Twin Fish Diagram radiated brilliance.

The two opposing forces unleashed terrifying energies that collided fiercely, forcing the surrounding Confucian Tao practitioners to retreat even further.

Standing amidst the blazing fire, the young Taoist, shrouded in purple aura, remained unscathed by the fierce Skyfire.

Yet at that critical moment, Fang Lin appeared abruptly behind the young Taoist, landing a ferocious punch on the purple aura enveloping the Taoist.

The purple aura instantly shattered. The young Taoist turned and retaliated with a palm strike, clashing directly with Fang Lin’s fist.

This marked their first genuine head-on confrontation. The advantage of Fang Lin’s True Dragon Physique was immediately evident—he stood firm while the young Taoist grunted and staggered back several dozen steps.

“What incredible power!” The young Taoist exclaimed, bringing his fingers together as an expanse of Sword Qi materialized in the sky.

“I possess a sword that can slay True Dragons!” The young Taoist declared, and a massive black sword appeared above him, its tip pointed straight at Fang Lin.

“Slay dragons? You’re unworthy!” Fang Lin roared, manifesting a True Dragon Phantom as dragon might swept gloriously into the Nine Heavens.

ps: Third update. This afternoon I’ll be going for a follow-up examination on my cervical spine, followed by another session with the old traditional Chinese doctor—which honestly feels like torture. This is the first follow-up and treatment session scheduled since before the holidays, and I don’t want to cancel it, especially considering how popular this doctor is. His appointments always require booking at least a week in advance. If I return early, there might even be another update.
