Chapter 1120: Brother and Sisters Reunited
Brother and Sisters Reunited . . .
The sisters had zealously guarded their story, never disclosing it to anyone, not even their master who had taken them under her wing in their early years.
The agony and cherished memories of bygone days were a continuous loop within their minds.
They had coexisted in a modest existence, supporting one another. Two girls who had endured severe disabilities, and a beggar with no means of livelihood, found solace in a dilapidated cottage, where they gazed at the stars year-round.
Through the crevices in the cottage's walls, the winds would gust and ruffle the corners of their modest abode.
Their lives were plain and austere, yet their hearts were at their warmest when residing in that simple dwelling.
Ever since their master took them away, they had held steadfast to the dream of returning to their brother. Yet residing within the confines of Qiong-Hua Palace presented challenges. Without guidance, they risked becoming lost in the sprawling palace.
Additionally, their ailing legs could only manage a few steps before the pain set in, rendering travel an arduous endeavor. Moreover, they were unsure of the cottage's exact whereabouts, and the journey promised to be a long and grueling one.
It was the very reason Yue Shuang and Yue Han harbored resentment toward their master for a considerable length of time. However, as they grew to comprehend the profound impact their master had on their lives by relocating them from the cottage, their feelings of resentment waned, replaced by a sense of regret.
"Why did our master not bring our brother with us?" they pondered.
Qiong-Hua Palace stood apart from Misty Cloud Palace and Ice Cloud Palace. While the latter two exclusively admitted female disciples, Qiong-Hua Palace welcomed both male and female disciples.
Upon completing their training, the sisters made their initial stop in the small city adjacent to the broken cottage, where they had resided. Their sole mission: to locate their brother.
For years, they revisited that place time and again, but each trip proved fruitless in their quest to reunite with their brother.
The terrain once occupied by the dilapidated cottage had reverted to wilderness, and the sisters built a new cottage nearby. With its dilapidated roof offering glimpses of the sky within and crumbling walls that let the wind pass through, the cottage had become a place few dared to approach.
During each return visit, they would spend several days inside, their hearts teeming with longing, and the fervent hope that their brother might return someday.
And yet, their wishes went unfulfilled. Their brother, a young man whose name remained unknown to them, had become the linchpin of their lives, their most dependable figure.
Countless times, in the depths of the night, the sisters would weep and speculate...
Perhaps their brother had perished many years ago...
However, now, this young lord was revealing every facet of their tale. He was unravelling the intricate layers of their deeply concealed past.
The two sisters still had tears glistening in their eyes, their gazes warm and affectionate as they fixed their attention on Cha Eun Xiao. Yue Shuang pursed her lips and brushed away the tears, then asked, "What happened next?"
Cha Eun Xiao offered a faint smile and replied, "What happened next? Well, the grown-up beggar seeking revenge for his brother was killed by his enemies. It should've been the end of his journey, but to everyone's surprise, his physical body perished, yet his soul, despite being injured, somehow endured."
"Strangely enough, he was reborn as a young man in the lower world, and that man's name was Cha Eun Xiao, the same as the beggar."
Cha Eun Xiao continued, "And then, he crossed paths with his two younger sisters...to his astonishment, their appearance was for the sole purpose of causing trouble for his clan."
With a warm smile, he concluded, "And that's where the story ends. I don't know what's going to happen next."
As the words "the end" fell from Cha Eun Xiao's lips, the two sisters began to tremble. It was as though a sudden jolt of electricity had shot from their spines to their skulls, leaving them both in stunned disbelief. Overwhelmed with excitement, they couldn't contain themselves any longer.
In unison, they sprang to their feet, trembling with emotion. Tears flowed freely before they uttered a single word, and soon, they were embracing one another, weeping tears of joy.
In that moment, they were no longer the two influential figures they had once been; they resembled more two children who had found their long-lost family. The tears they shed were tears of sheer elation, and words escaped them in their profound happiness.
There was no room for doubt. The only person privy to their secret story was the man before them.
It didn't matter that he no longer appeared as the brother they had known; he was still unmistakably their brother.
Inwardly, Cha Eun Xiao frowned, seemingly uncomfortable with their emotional display. "You two are still such crybabies," he chided. "You used to cry all the time in the past. You're grown women now. Yet, you're still the same..."
The sisters couldn't hold back any longer. They rushed into his arms, their voices trembling as they called him "brother." Their words carried a tone of disbelief, as if they couldn't quite grasp the enormity of the revelation.
Though they had rushed into Cha Eun Xiao's embrace, their hands shook with hesitation for a moment. Ultimately, they clung tightly to him. They had found their brother, and they weren't about to let go.
Cha Eun Xiao, nearly overwhelmed by their sudden embrace, was at risk of being squeezed to death. The two sisters, who were no longer the young girls they had been but powerful cultivators of the realm, might have accidentally taken his life if he hadn't progressed to the Dao Origin Stage. They held him with such force that his chest was drenched, and he lamented, "Women and their emotions, like water..."
As the two ladies wept, they were no longer the formidable figures of the Qing-Yun Realm, nor were they the frosty women of the Qiong-Hua Palace. Instead, they cried as if the world were ending, their hearts rent apart by the surge of emotions.
