“So what if they were scratching it?” A large smile appeared on Claug’s massive draconic face. Her eyes lit narrowed and she suddenly started to glow. From a gust of green toxic smoke, she flew into the window and appeared standing in front of Arad, a ten-foot-tall woman with majestic green hair, glowing eyes, and the most intimidating smile Arad had seen in his life. Her teeth were still as sharp as those of sharks.
She took one step forward, her high heels clanging on the stone floor. With them she stood at almost eleven feet tall, to her most humans looked far too short, and even Arad at seven feet tall could barely reach her chest with his head.
“I came here for many reasons. But the one you’re thinking about can wait.” She looked down, her glowing eyes fixed on him. “Otherwise, we can get it done here and now.”
Arad smiled. He knew that Claug was having trouble taking a humanoid form. Looking at her teeth, he could guess that this transformation either isn’t complete or she still has some problems with it. But that didn’t matter, one thing was obvious now. Claug is indeed larger than normal for her age and kind.
It wasn’t a hard comparison, most dragons don’t decide their basic human shape. The size relative remains the same, so an average dragon should be as tall as an average human. Arad himself was a giant, but now he was using size magic to fit into his clothes.
“First things first.” He looked at her with a smile, “Congratulations for getting a humanoid body.”
She extended her arms and looked down at herself with pride, “Masterful, isn’t it? What do you think?”
Arad took a step closer, looked at her chest, then her arms. He reached up and opened her mouth and took a glance inside, sniffed her from several spots, then wrapped his arms around her thighs and lifted her. Isdis was sitting in there, watching as he inspected her for a few moments.
“What are you doing?” She asked, and Arad looked at her as he was squeezing Claug’s calves.
“Checking her human form, many things are wrong.” He said, “First, you smell like dragons, your teeth are those of a dragon, there are some scales apparent around your whole body if someone looked close enough, you don’t have nails but short claws, and what matters most, your weight.”
Claug shook her head, “Sadly, I wasn’t able to get it lower.” She weighs over 400 kg. Whatever magic she used to polymorph didn’t work that well in that regard.
Isdis looked closer and could see some of the things that Arad talked about, “How long can you remain in human form?”
“As long as I want. Problem, I don’t have that much power in it. The moment I start trying to access my draconic power, I start morphing back.” She lifted her arm and scales covered it as her fingers turned into talons and nails into claws. “See?” Her arm quickly turned back human.
“But you still hold more strength than a normal human.” Arad squeezed her arm for a moment and then asked, “So, you’re here for?”
“Several things. A disease broke out, and I contained it; you don’t have to worry about it now. I gave advice and taught the people here preventative measures.” A smile covered her face, “Real reason? I came to mate, why would I be posted in your territory if not for that?”
Arad looked at Claug, then his eyes shifted to Isdis, “My wife is right there behind you.”
Claug looked at Isdis with a smile, then turned back to Arad, “Honey, do you think I’m that insensitive? I’ve seen many nobles and royal houses crumble because of things like this. I made sure that everyone accepted me before you returned.” She giggled, “Even your father calls me daughter-in-law.”
Arad sighed, holding his head between his hands. Even Alcott seems to have gotten involved, but what can he do? His father was bound to act when a dragon as powerful as Claug arrived.
“But you know…” He looked at her and she nodded, “Turns, and I was listening. Let’s go see Merlin, you’ve got a lot of work waiting for you.”
They headed downstairs, and all the guards who saw them approaching had to step away. The sight of their future queen, their great emperor, and the radiant witch-doctor sent a shiver down their spines. Especially the witch-doctor, as the commoner started calling her.
Almost all of the doors in the castle were built to be larger than normal, almost three meters tall, only for Arad, accounting for the horns in his half-dragon form. But in the end, they’ve ended up needing them for Claug.
Soon, Isdis stopped and looked at Arad, “This is where we separate. The sun is still up, and the paperwork won’t do itself. Claug would take you to Merlin, she should be with the others.”
As Arad and Claug walked alone through the castle’s hallways, he looked at her. “Are you serious about this?”
“About the mating? Of course, where would I find a dragon like you? I’ve spent centuries alone, and I’m already as ancient as I could be.” She leaned toward him and whispered, “You know what we drakainas love. A strong dragon that can throw us around.”
He sighed, “Fine, since you’ve spoken with everyone.”
After a moment, they reached one of the lower rooms. Before even getting inside he could smell it, a lot of beer. He looked at Claug and sighed, opening the door. Inside, multiple women were sitting around a large table.
Merlin looked utterly exhausted, with her head resting on the table. Beside her, Amber was lifting a large mug of beer, the barrels at the counter of at the side of the room were almost empty.
On the other side of the table, two elves sat, one pale, blond with glowing green eyes. She was the elvish high queen Cerilla, and for some reason, she looked a bit worried. Beside her, the dark elf queen Jasmine relaxed, her chair almost falling as her feet rested on the table, a happy smile on her face.
Dalla and some elvish maids were standing around serving them beer, drinks, or sweets, all except the Cerilla, who only drank green tea. Jasmine seemed to be drinking a black liquid that Arad barely recognized, coffee.
As if that wasn’t enough, on a table behind them, a drunk Lunara and a drunk Zephyr were armwrestling with a massive pile of gold beside them.
“What is going on?” Arad sighed, and Claug patted him on the shoulder, “The end of a long day of hard work.” She walked forward, “Take a seat.”
