Chapter 128: They are fated to cross paths

Chapter – 128

“I don’t mind joining your company if the conditions are good enough,” Veronica flirtatiously looked at Alex and proposed.

Now, this came as a shock to everyone present there. Everyone from AR had already recognised Veronica. If Abir was one of the rising stars of the industry, Veronica was already at the top, at the peak of her career. If Veronica were to join the company out of nowhere, it was surely going to take everyone in the industry by surprise, and the company’s shot to fame was guaranteed.

But when they registered Veronica’s words, one doubt popped up in their mind, ‘Why?’

‘Why would someone like Veronica want to leave a company like Theation and join AR? It made no sense.’

Alex, on the other hand, was confused as well. Not because of what Veronica said, but because he could not identify the girl in front of him. Why would she constantly budge him?

Though he had worked with Theation for some time, he was not a movie buff. Alex was more into sports, particularly football, often referred to as soccer.

.....

To make it even hard, he could only access the memories of slightly more than a year from his brain. So, even though Veronica was a big deal, and he might have seen her in passing, there was not much of an impression other than a feeling of familiarity.

“You are?” Alex asked as he tried to think hard about where he had seen the familiar face.

“You don’t know me?” Veronica asked, surprised by how Alex asked for her introduction. And not just Veronica, everyone there was surprised. Jessica, on the contrary, snickered as she looked at Veronica, ‘That’s what you get for acting smart, smart-ass,’ Jessica thought.

“I feel like I have seen you somewhere, but I can’t put my finger on it,” Alex said, shaking his head.

“We have met before,” Veronica said, taking a step forward, “In the elevator... I was trying to ditch my manager and the others. You helped me run away, you remember that?” Veronica asked.

“Ohh... Yes... Yes... I remember that...” Alex said, looking pleasantly surprised, “I have to say, with that mask on, I thought you would be an old lady,” Alex said, peering at Veronica from top to bottom, “But you are one gorgeous lady. At least way better than some stuck-up cu... cu...” Alex said, looking at Jessica.

When Veronica heard Alex compliment her in such a straightforward manner on their first face to face without mask meeting, even Veronica felt shy.

“Thank you,” that was all Veronica could say.

“But I have to say no to your offer,” Alex said, dropping cold water on the nice moment Veronica was having.

“What?” Veronica looked at Alex with her eyes wide open. She could not believe that a second after complimenting her, Alex would reject her offer, “But why?” Veronica asked, wanting an explanation.

“For one, you are quite a troublemaker. Managing you will be a hassle, “Alex said, shaking his head. But when he saw Veronica try and say something, he cut her off, “And I know you won’t ditch her that easily,” Alex said, pointing his finger at Jessica.

That was it... Even though Jessica did not like Alex, she could not hold herself when she heard Alex call Veronica a troublemaker. She laughed so hard that she almost tripped on the luggage behind her. If not for Abir, she would have cracked her head open. Veronica had always been the one with the upper hand over her. Whatever she tried, she could not outdo Veronica. But here was Alex smashing her left and right in front of everyone.

Contrary to Jessica’s reaction, when everyone thought that Veronica would flip at Alex, she was silent. With a curious gaze, Veronica looked at Alex and asked, “And... Why do you think so?”

“Just a hunch,” Alex replied, shrugging.

Veronica did not reply. She just smiled as she played with her hair. She had heard whatever she wanted to and was quite satisfied with it.

Now that Veronica had backed off, Alex turned his attention back at Abir, who was still hesitant to reply.

By now, Alex had also calmed down. Not wanting to make a scene out here and make things difficult for Abir, Alex put his hand on Abir’s shoulder and smiled, “Think it through. I am in no hurry to get your reply.” Alex said.

Abir could only nod in agreement.

“What are you going to do now?” Now that he had his revenge, Alex asked George. Where his father was going to stay was another matter they needed to solve.

“Matthew and I will check in some another hotel,” George said, patting his son’s shoulder, “You don’t need to worry.”

George looked at Matthew and gestured for him to lead the way. George followed behind but not before winking at Alex and giving him his signature pervy smile.

Now that George had left, Alex was the next in command. He addressed those from his company still there, “We should also go to our rooms and freshen up. You all can act unrestrained for the next three days. For all this time that we are in Ullu, you are not my employees, and I am not your boss.” Alex said, trying to relax everyone.

“And one more thing... I must not hear anyone even squeak about work. You don’t need to bother yourself with anything remotely related to work. Enjoy to your heart’s content.” Alex said, waving his hands and gesturing for everyone to scatter.

As soon as they got the go call from Alex, everyone dispersed within seconds, making plans for what to do next. Soon, only Alex was left there with Jessica, Veronica and Abir.

Though he was happy, and butterflies won’t stop tingling in his heart, Alex didn’t want to show it in front of everyone. After all, he was finally able to get one over Jessica. Alex looked one last time at Jessica and, giving her a light snort, left from there to his room, humming his victory tune.

“Ugghhh...” Jessica could not help but tremble in anger as she watched Alex walk away. She had never thought of Alex as something more than mud beneath her shoes, and she had even treated him like that for the most part of their interactions. But Alex has been getting the edge for the last two times, which was intolerable to her.

Angry, Jessica looked here and there, trying to find something or someone to let out all her pent up frustration. She even thought of using Abir, for that matter but stopped herself. At last, when she could not find anything, stomping her feet, she walked away from there.

‘Aahaa... Her grandfather wanted her to relax, but with this guy here, he might have to come, bail her out of prison before the end of this vacay,’ shaking her head, Veronica did not know what she was going to do now with this new headache.

Their trip started on Thursday, and they were to head back to Elenor on Sunday morning. For the next few days, Alex had decided to enjoy himself to the fullest. Though Jessica was an unexpected variable, he was not going to let her get in the way and do everything Ullu had to offer.

Since it was a long tiring journey, Alex chose to target everything that the hotel had to offer as soon as he was done freshening up. By the time he was done, it was already evening, and he was full to his brim, leaving no space for dinner.

Looking at the setting sun, Alex thought he should order a bottle of wine and relax, enjoying the nice cool breeze. But before he could do so, the employees came knocking at his room. They were here to invite him for a get-together, but when Alex tried to refuse, they dragged him with them, taking his earlier words to not treat him as their boss to the heart.

The group first went for a round of drinks before trying out their singing talent at karaoke. By the time Alex returned to his room, he had no strength to even change his clothes, and slowly, he crawled into the bed.

The next day, soon after Alex woke up, he left for sightseeing before anyone else could drag him away with them. There was a lot on his list, but the time was short. With that in mind, Alex first had some of the specialities of Ullu before heading for the thing he wanted to do most, snorkelling.

Reaching the shores, Alex felt his heart pumping. Wherever he looked, girls were flaunting their beauty. Be it cute skirtinis, heart-pumping bikinis or the nose bleeding sling swimsuits. There was everything a virgin like him should categorically avoid.

Stealing glances at those shaking butts and those smooth skins as the girls passed by, Alex made his way towards the spot where he could buy his gear. After he was done buying his gear and booking a yacht, Alex followed a man to where the yacht was.

While Alex was waiting for the man to do the preparations, he heard a familiar voice, “Do we have to do this? It looks kind of dangerous.”

‘Aahh... Not again. Why would she be here...” This was something his father suggested. He didn’t want to spoil his mood fighting with that damn girl Jessica. Annoyed, he wanted to leave, but when he looked in the direction of the voice, he was jaw-dropped.

In front of him stood Jessica in a cute, pink skirtini, contrary to the dark, gloomy colours he had always seen her wear. Alex’s gaze fell on her face as he watched her hair blow with the wind. As his gaze moved down through his neck, he could not help but gulp, looking at her large racks, wanting to break free from those restraints. He would have never guessed her size in those formal attires of her.

Those nice big boobs did not match her slim figure. Covered in sweat, her body looked alluring, enticing Alex to grab hold of that waist and embrace her into his arms. The thought that she was his arch-rival was down the drain in no time.

Just when he thought he had seen it all, he heard another voice in her ear. With Jessica in sight, Alex had forgotten about everyone else. But that voice broke his stupor.

“There is nothing remotely dangerous about this, and if things turn out dangerous, don’t we have this little one here,” Veronica said, giving Abir a glance, “Why else do you think I am letting him enjoy the beautiful scenery here, if not for him to save us?” Veronica said as she grabbed Jessica’s hand.

When Alex’s gaze fell on Veronica, who was standing with her back towards him, he felt his shorts go tight. If Jessica was cute, Veronica was a seductress. Contrary to Jessica’s cute skirtini, Veronica’s bikini hardly covered anything. If not for that scarf around her waist, every gaze in the vicinity would have been stuck on that butt. With two top-class beauties in front, Alex’s eyes were juggling from Jessica’s breasts to Veronica’s butt and vice versa. It was hard for him to decide which was more alluring.

“But I am afraid too.” Hearing Veronica, Abir whispered.

Veronica glared at Abir, making the latter shut up. Then she turned towards Jessica, and with pleading eyes, said, “Please, Jessica, can’t you do this for me? I travelled thousands of miles just to accompany you because of our friendship. Was it all for nothing,” Veronica was using her acting skills to the optimum? Even though Jessica knew that she was faking it, she still could not bring herself to reject it anymore.

All this while, Alex was in a trance. He had to admit that however much he hated Jessica, she was a beauty not many could be on par with. Jessica was like winter scenery which, though looked beautiful, most preferred to keep their distance. Veronica, on the other hand, was like the spring everyone wanted to enjoy. Wherever she went, she would make her surroundings bloom.

Finally, after hesitating for a while, Jessica gave in and got on the small yacht with Veronica and Abir and sailed into the sea. After they left, it was soon Alex’s turn as well. He also followed behind them on another boat.
