Chapter 95
TL: Zimming
“It is Dubbled’s matter.”
Johann said with a cold voice, and the corners of Camilla’s mouth slowly went up.
“I have thought that the most important thing in the marriage agreement is the opinion of both parties.”
Those words are true.
Camilla had replied, as Johann pulled my hand.
“I’ll be sure to convey your will. But I don’t know what my father will think.”
“Are you threatening me?”
“No way.”
After he opened the door, he glanced at godmother.
“But my father said that if a person with a bad intention came to Dubbled, at least they need to be prepared to die.”
Camilla was speechless.
***
I sat on the couch and glanced at my family.
“That grandmother is already senile!”
My family members who heard from Johann were very upset.
They were even more angry because they had obtained information about Camilla’s grandchild who was near my age.
‘The Dubbled’s are scary…’
It was only a few days since Camilla found her daughter-in-law and grandchildren.
Not many knew about this, and even Count Barthou, Leticia’s father, was unaware of the relationship between his daughter and the Grand Duke.
‘Just how great is the information department in Dubbled?’
Thinking about it scared me.
Henry, who was touching the handle of the teacup, said to father,
“Nos. drive them out within four days.”
Isaac looked at dad.
“I’ll help to slit their throats.”
There was no detail, but I could understand that the ‘they’ that were mentioned were the Grand Duke and Camilla.
Dad’s hand which was on the armrest reacted, as if he had decided and I almost screamed.
‘I’m in big trouble!’
When I imagined Camilla’s mansion collapsing because of Dubbled, I felt goosebumps.
‘They can’t do that.’
I wrapped my cheeks with both hands and exhaled a sigh.
Their eyes turned to me at once.
“What’s the matter?”
My aunt asked me, so I said deliberately while looking sad.
“I don’t need a marriage partner!”
The people of Dubbled who had a cold expression on their faces, flinched.
I looked at them with a pitiful expression.
“I want to live with my family forever.”
Then Isaac said,
“…really?”
“Yes. Because my dad and brothers are the most awesome in the world.”
“That’s right!”
He grinned and as I continued.
“Daddy and brothers are all knights. Knight who protects the weak and doesn’t kill the weak! Right?”
“Huh? Huh…that…yes.”
Isaac panicked as I looked at Henry.
“Bad aristocrats abused their power recklessly, but my family wouldn’t. Right?”
“…yes.”
I looked at dad.
“Nos says it’s much, much more difficult to be a good head than a good official. Making the right decision is the hardest thing. You’re the coolest one because you’re a good head, aren’t you?
“…yes.”
I smiled and clapped my hands.
“As expected, my family is the coolest, so I want to live with them forever.”
Dad and brothers were shocked.
“I’ll try to think it over. It could be a hasty decision.”
“Yes.”
“That’s right, I’m a righteous knight.”
Listening to my family, I nodded.
That’s a relief.
I don’t have to get a new godmother.
Thinking so, I breathed a sigh of relief in my heart.
After that, I had told ‘Daddy, you’re the best,’ about a hundred times before I could trudge out of the room.
Just when I was about to climb the stairs, Johann asked,
“What about me?”
“What?”
“……”
“……?”
“…nothing.”
When he said so, he walked to the other side as I tilted my head in confusion.
***
A few days later, it became the first day of my education.
I arrived at my godmother’s place, when I got out of my carriage, she greeted me.
“I greet my godmother.”
“…yes.”
Godmother looked at me and the people that came along.
“I didn’t own that much tea set in my mansion to serve all of you.”
The knights answered politely.
“It’s alright!”
“There are not enough chairs in my mansion where you’ll all be waiting.”
The knights shouted out loudly, even though she meant for them to go away,
“We’re fine waiting on the roof or the dog house!”
“…..do as you please.”
My godmother turned her back and went inside. Then before we step the stairs of the entrance, I grabbed her arm.
“What are you doing?”
“Isn’t this the noble etiquette?”
‘In fact, I held her arm because I knew her knees weren’t good.’
Camilla is an old woman, she couldn’t help it. She often gets sick and her knees hurt especially often.
But she didn’t want anyone to know because she doesn’t want to accept that she’s already old. In front of others, she pretended to be alright and no one knew about her knees.
‘But I know.’
Because she was one of my customers who bought luminous medicine.
I wondered why she, who didn’t easily believe in rumours, bought the luminous medicine, but I learned from looking at her carefully.
All the parties attended by godmother were places without stairs.
And every time she sat on a chair, she frowned faintly.
‘It must be her knees.’
I laughed innocently, but Camilla laughed as if she understood what I meant.
I smiled gently and helped her.
The place where godmother took me was a huge room with a big window on one side of the wall.
Outside the window, I could see a garden full of grass and beautiful trees.
“This is the training room where you’ll be educated. Take a look around. You can also see the garden and the greenhouse outside.”
“Yes, godmother.”
When I answered gently, godmother stepped back so that I could look around comfortably.
When I opened the glass door leading outside, a sweet smell of grass filled my nose. The sun was shining, and the weather was perfect.
While looking around, I stopped walking as I reached the greenhouse.
A fish made from water was floating in the air.
‘Adrian’s power?’
It seemed to be another one he made, because we buried one of them five years ago.
I was a little terrified.
‘Just how strong is this Adrian?’
He maintained one of them for about two years back then.
The fish came closer and tickled my cheek with its tail.
I laughed because the fish looked so cute.
When I reach out my hand, it comes into my palm and circles around.
“That’s right, that’s right. Good boy.”
Just then,
“Come here, Amand.”
As soon as I heard the familiar voice, Amand slipped out of my palm.
“Adrian.”
“……”
“How have you been?”
When I asked, his eyes glanced at me gently.
“Lady Dubbled.”
‘He must have noticed already.’
It’s weird if he was still clueless.
The boy looked down. He must’ve felt betrayed by me.
‘So at times like this…’
“Was it fun tricking me–“
“It’s my fault!!”
At times like this, it’s best to admit my mistake.
I have to beg him.
“When I entered the barrier, I was scared and accidently gave my brother’s name! I thought I would never see you again!”
“Then why did you help me bury—“
“I’m sorry! I should have told you then, but I forgot because It slipped out of my mind!”
“How do you feel when you get a letter?”
“I’ll reflect on my mistake! I deceived you after all…right. I’m sorry. You deserves to be angry! I’m wrong. I’m so sorry. There’s no excuse. It’s no wonder you’re upset!”
Adrian panicked when I didn’t stopped begging.
***
Some time later.
Adrian looked at the girl, and soon, he opened his mouth.
“You didn’t mean to deceive me, did you?”
“Yes!”
“That’s enough, then.”
When Adrian said so, Leblaine blinked.
“That’s it? You’re forgiving me?”
“Yes.”
“That easily?”
“Yes.”
“……is he a fool?”
The girl frowned. She looked more frustrated than before.
“I lied to you. You should get angry!”
“I was going to get angry, but seeing you, it’s alright.”
“You’re a fool. If you’re angry you should get angry. You don’t have to hold it in.
The girl hit his chest in frustration.
“……”
“How can you live by being so kind?”
Adrian smiled slightly as the child hit his chest.
“Then will you let me know your real name?”
