Chapter 631 - The Matchmaker
"You sure can help me get rid of that guy?" Roman asked, looking at Max. He was a bit doubtful about it. Max was Lear's friend after all. So, there was no reason for him to take Roman's side and help him out.
"Yes, I will at least give you an option." Max smiled at him. There was a confident grin on his face.
"Well, let's change the place first." Roman said as he looked around. And then grabbed Max before disappearing into thin air.
….
Roxley House, Trinity.
Max and Roman landed on the rooftop of the mansion. Roman then let go of Max, and looked at him with a bit of expectation.
"So, what's the plan?"
"Well, it's simple…" Max began to explain the plan to him.
Ander had refused to believe him and had even ignored his warning. So, Max knew that Arnold had every chance to make his move. There was a high risk of things going wrong. So wouldn't that mean that Lora was in danger as well.
"Didn't I say that there are more than enough people to protect her?" Roman asked with a frown.
"There really is, but do you think there aren't any chances of things going wrong? Not to mention, are you really willing to let Lear flirt with Lora right in front of your eyes?" Max asked with a smile and the frown on Roman's face deepened.
"What do you suggest then?" Roman looked at Max with a bit of interest. He wanted to see what Max had planned.
"I will take Lora's place." Max finally declared.
"What do you mean?" Roman frowned as he looked at Max.
"Well let me show it to you." Max smiled, and the next instant a tattoo stretched out of his neck from his shirt and soon took all over his body. A minute later, Max's figure suddenly began to change. His figure turned slim and feminine. And in about a minute, his previous look was totally gone.
His figure seemed to have melted leaving behind a girl with Lora's figure.
"How is it ?" Max asked, looking at Roman.
But, he just stood there with a dumbfounded look on his face which slowly turned into a grim looking one.
"How dare you disguise as my daughter?!" Roman immediately flared up. But, he couldn't do anything with Lora's face in front of him.
"Calm down, I don't have any wrong intentions!" Max immediately broke out in cold sweat. These Lords were really one heck of a parent. They were the kind of parent whose kids you wouldn't want to mess with.
Roman looked at Max, and calmed down.
"I want to take Lora's place during the party. This is only beneficial to you, just think about it." Max then went on to list the benefits. Firstly, Lora would be safe. Secondly, she wouldn't come in contact with Lear. Thirdly, they would be able to keep an eye on Lesia and prevent anything from going wrong with Max closely following her as Lora.
"And for the most important point…." Max paused and then looked at Roman, "If things go bad, then you can see if Lear puts his life on the line for your daughter or not. As long as he doesn't, you will have more than enough of a reason to kick him out of your daughter's life."
"And, what if he does?" Roman looked at Max, he knew that the kid wasn't easy as he looked. There must be something going on in his head.
"Nothing, just ignore it if you want. I mean it's rare to find someone who is willing to risk your life for you. But, if you think he is still not good enough, then he really must be."
Max knew that actions were harder to forget. And, if Lear did something good and left an impact on Roman, then it would be hard for him to forget it even if he didn't want to.
"And, what if there isn't any situation like the one you are predicting?" Roman asked with raised brows.
"Well, in that situation, we have no choice but to create one." Max shrugged.
Whether it was his good luck or bad luck, they didn't have to create the situation now. After all, Max's prediction came true.
Roman stood there thinking about the situation. It certainly was worth considering.
"Well, it sounds interesting."
An elderly voice suddenly rang out in the vicinity.
Max's senses immediately sounded out in danger. He couldn't feel the person's presence. But could feel that suffocating pressure around. This really made his face turn grave. Even his immunity to pressure was not working.
"Father," Roman muttered with a surprised look on his face on hearing that voice. This immediately calmed Max a bit down. He was relieved to find that it was not an enemy.
Soon, a man appeared floating in the sky. He looked a bit like Roman but had aged a lot. The old man was wearing a gray gown, and had a beaming smile on his face.
"I heard you two talking about something interesting?" The old man asked with a smile as he looked at the two of them.
"Father, when did you come?" Roman asked him in disbelief.
The old man didn't reply and instead looked at Max with interest.
"You want to show us your friend's determination?" He definitely saw through Max's plan, but it wasn't going to change anything.
Max looked at the old man and then at Roman who was quietly standing at the back. It was clear who was the boss here.
"Yes, you got me right. If he fails, then you can just kick him out. But, if he puts his life on the line then I think he deserves a chance to be considered here. Not to mention, your granddaughter wants him as well."
"Well, aren't you quite a matchmaker?" The old man smiled at Max. "I don't know how capable this person whom Lora has chosen is.. But, he sure has an eye for making friends."
