All the mist around the council members disappeared in an instant. Finally, they were able to see the floor around them properly. There were walls all the way to the ceiling, and were painted in an ominous black. But, what was more interesting was that all the walls had these inscribing of sorts, and this was not seen before.

All the council members looked at Eva with concern. Lucas frowned. "Meredith? Isn't that her sister or something?", he was confused. Michael looked at him and gestured him to shut up.

"Come on. Now is not the time to be having revelations."

Eva was down stricken. Her eyes looked like they were devoid of life.. Praneeth walked up to her and spoke to her softly.

"What do you want to do? If you want to leave, I am sure that I can come up with a way to let you. No one is forcing you to stay."

"Kekeke.", a laugh came from seemingly all directions. Eva's dead eyes glanced up and she straightened her posture.

"No.", she said firmly. "This one's life is mine, and mine alone."

"All right. But you are probably the only one who has the capacity to get us to the next floor. I mean, your sister will surely account for breaking through the floors with sheer brute force.", Praneeth reminded her.

Eva nodded. "I will guide you through it. But you have to protect me. Meredith will definitely attack me through sneak attacks. She will be out for blood."

"What the hell even happens between siblings for them to be attacking each other for their lives?", Lucas wondered out loud. Eva glanced at him sharply, but did not respond. Michael quickly interjected. "She clearly has a past that she does not want to share. Why force her?"

"No. A past that she does not want to share? Who here had a nice and easy past? I was forced into killing for a life, and I was used as a vessel for Fenrir. All of you had to know that, and you did. It was crucial for taking care of the problem at hand. We need to know who we are facing, and why, because it seems that this Marquess has a very clear goal. She targetted me, who is the vessel of Fenrir, and she might be after so much more. Your sister is in her building, trying to stop us. That doesn't bode well.", Lucas said, the tone of his voice grim.

"You can't possibly think that-"

"He is right Michael. You all deserve to know.", Eva took a deep sigh while closing her eyes. Then, she reopened them with a reinvigorated will. "But now is not the time to be talking leisurely among ourselves. From what I know of Meredith, she is preparing to decimate us at this very second, and we are just standing like sitting ducks. We have to keep moving."

Arthur and Angela nodded.

"Fine then. Let us keep moving.", Lucas said. They started moving, while Eva was muttering something with her eyes closed.

"Take a right here. And then, stop in front of the wall that is three paces ahead, and break it with your sheer power.", Eva said. Lucas looked at where Eva wanted him to punch. In a blink of an eye, his fist turned from that of a human's to that filled with fur all over it, and with sharper claws.

A loud thump arose and the wall itself broke down. Before it could regenerate, though, Eva quickly chanted a few phrases and put her hand on the wall. The wall stopped regenerating, and they could see through the gaping hole in the wall.

"Now, we can go to the center of the maze.", she said.

"The center? We need to leave, remember?", Lucas said, snarling.

"Leave? Have you ever seen a proper maze? There is only one entry and one exit. Finding such an exit isn't exactly easy and would take even me a while. Instead, if we find the creator of the maze, we can have a quicker way to destroy the maze itself.", Eva shot back.

"Fine then. What are we waiting for?", Lucas was about to step in, but he stopped for a brief moment. "Nothing is inside right?"

"I am not sure. We will have to go in and see.", Eva shook her head.

"We have to wait and see? So reassuring.", Lucas said sarcastically as he shook his head and stepped in regardless. The hole itself widened as his hands pushed upon the edges. The moment that he went into the other side, he disappeared from sight.

"Are we all going to the same place, or will we be split up?", Arthur asked cautiously.

"I am pretty sure that we will be together.", Eva said as she also went through the hole.

"I cannot believe that I am doing this.", Mu Chen said as he went inside. Quickly, the rest also followed suit, and the moment Angela, the last one, passed through the hole, it closed up.

"Finally, you are here my love.", a sound cackled through the entire maze.
