“We only have one Mephisto Missile,” Arthur admitted. “We pooled most of our funds to create the Nemos.”
Lawrence and Tristan nodded in understanding. Unlike the Central Government, whose forces and influence spanned the entire continent of the world, the Leventis Family’s main sources of income were only the Aldebaran Continent and their City in Solterra.
Being able to achieve what they had in the span of two years was already commendable.
“Did Zion already tell you about the Ashford Clan’s secret weapon?” Arthur asked Lawrence.
“Are you talking about Project Exodia?” Lawrence replied.
“Yes.” Arthur crossed his arms over his chest. “Have you found any clues about it?”
Lawrence shook his head. “No. Zion also told us not to pry too deeply because it might delay the completion of the Ashford Clan’s secret weapon. He believed it could be a powerful asset in the Jinn Invasion, so he asked us to not do anything reckless to disturb its production.”
Arthur was a little worried because his grandson had told him that the Ashford Clan might target their family when the invasion in the Cygni Continent ended.
If the enemy truly had such a powerful weapon, it would definitely pose a threat to the survival of the Leventis Family.
The only reason he could still keep his calm was the existence of Thirteen’s Nautilus.
Arthur had seen the video recording on how it sent the Rank 9 Earth Dragons flying during the battle in the Rigel Continent.
Zion also told him about the improvements he made to the cannon, enhancing its firing range and firepower, making it more deadly.
The Patriarch of the Leventis Family believed that as long as they had Nautilus, they didn’t have to fear Project Exodia.
Of course, Thirteen had yet to tell him about the other trump cards he had aside from Nautilus.
He kept them a secret, knowing how ambitious Arthur could be.
If he knew that his no-good grandson had secret weapons like Athena and GANDAM Hyperion, he might take the initiative to attack the Ashford Clan first instead of being on the passive side.
“I know the Central Government intends to protect the Cygni Continent to the best of your abilities,” Arthur said. “But to what extent would you go?”
“We plan to go all the way,” Lawrence answered. “Humanity cannot afford to be pushed back any longer. If Cygni falls, we’ll be left with only the Sirius and Aldebaran Continent to rely on. This will be a blow to humanity as a whole.”
“Sometimes, I can’t help but admire you,” Arthur commented. “Unlike the other families who only care about themselves, the Central Government genuinely has humanity’s interest at heart.”
“Well, Douglas is rallying everyone to help protect his home turf,” Tristan stated. “While I’m not certain if the other Families will give their all to help him until the end, the possibility of a repeat of what happened in the Rigel Continent is there.”
During the Jinn Invasion in the Rigel Continent, humanity stood as one and fought side by side.
However, the moment the Earth Dragons arrived, everyone thought any kind of resistance was futile.
Because of this, the other Monarch Clans and Prestigious Families who weren’t native to the Rigel Continent retreated from the battlefield.
They left the Elrod Clan, the Rhodes Family, and the Riggs Family to fight bitterly until they themselves were pushed back into the man-made island they had created beforehand.
Several years later, the same thing was about to happen in the Cygni Continent.
Arthur, Lawrence, and Tristan believed that the Dvalinn Federation still held a grudge against the Cygni Coalition.
They would, of course, still help resist the invasion. But the three people in the room believed that the Dvalinn Federation wouldn’t fight a desperate battle and retreat when they could no longer see any hope in salvaging the situation.
To some extent, the three also believed that the other Monarch Clans and Prestigious Families would do the same.
A weakened Cygni Coalition was easier to deal with. They could even be insubordinated or absorbed by the other forces, strengthening their own.
Although it gave the three a very disgusted feeling, that was the truth about humanity.
As long as the Sirius and Aldebaran Continent still stood, the desperation of people still hadn’t hit rock bottom.
Perhaps, humanity would only truly unite when only one continent remained in the world.
For that would become their last stand.
The Central Government didn’t want to wait until that sad scenario came to pass.
They were willing to use all the manpower and resources at their disposal to ensure that humanity would no longer have to give up any of their territories to the Jinns, who had already occupied a third of Pangea.
“This is why I am very happy to see someone like Zion in this era,” Lawrence stated. “If he only appeared a hundred years ago, then the Rigel Continent might have not fallen to the Jinns.”
“Well, I’m glad he appeared in this era,” Tristan commented. “Having a very capable son-in-law puts my mind and heart at ease.”
“True.” Lawrence, who had a serious expression, also smiled because he held the teenage boy in high regard.
He was also very happy when he discovered that the young man and Shana were secretly engaged to each other.
The fact that Zion already had Erica and Sherry as his fiancees wasn’t a cause of concern for him.
Pangea was a world at the brink of destruction. Social norms had changed, and capable men were advised to have many wives.
Not only did it allow the population to increase, it also gave the possibility of giving birth to superior children who would carry the torch to save the world.
Athur was also smiling because his no-good grandson had secured a solid alliance with the Central Government through his relationship with Shana.
In fact, the Monarch Clans, as well as the Prestigious Families, had sent marriage proposals asking for the hand of the Saintess, as well as her sister, Rianna.
Every influential family in the world would kill for the chance of making Lawrence and Tristan their in-laws.
This was also the reason why Rianna and Shana always received preferential treatment whenever they were in Solterra.
The young Scions of the different families would do their best to help and impress these two beautiful ladies so that they might take a fancy to them.
It was quite unfortunate that Rianna already had someone she liked, and Shana had hooked up with Zion.
Of course, none of the families were aware of this fact.
If they knew, they would definitely make some plans in the Cygni Continent to give Shana’s and Rianna’s lovers an accidental death, which would take them out of the picture.
For now, everyone believed that Roland had the highest chance of making the Saintess his wife.
At least that was what people thought on the surface.
Fortunately, Joshua had gotten off the ship on time before things became complicated, successfully finding a lover in the most unlikely of places.
“How about we think of a date for their marriage two years from now?” Arthur proposed. “Of course, if the kids don’t mind.”
“That sounds like a good idea,” Lawrence commented. “Let’s do that.”
The Grand Marshal believed that waiting for two years wasn’t an unreasonable idea.
After this short break from the serious topic, the three once again returned to discussing important and confidential collaborations between their families.
A few hours later, they went to the Summers Residence, where a feast prepared by Cynthia waited for their arrival.
