SYSTEM'S POV

Chapter 863 - 863: Zion, I am Waiting For You Here

A week passed in Pangea as Thirteen spent his time with his family.

Now that they lived in the same city as him, Erica and Sherry also visited him from time to time.

As sad as it was, they all knew this peace they enjoyed would soon end. In a week, they would once again leave their homes.

They would head to the Sirius Continent, where Thirteen would pick up Shana and the Battalion under his command, all of whom would travel alongside him to the Cygni Continent via sea.

Like the other Battalions of the Central Government, the 69th Battalion also had their own Warship, which was a Cruiser.

It could easily accommodate six hundred personnel—more than enough to fit the current 69th Battalion.

Unsure how long he would be away from his family, Thirteen decided to spend quality time with his sisters, especially Rhia, who was growing up so quickly.

When he was forcibly taken to Solterra the first time, he regretted not being able to personally oversee Remi’s training and development.

The only saving grace was that Laplace Demon allowed him to write a letter to his family, so he was at least able to list some training courses best for Remi to take while he was away.

Worried about their safety, he also made sure to let his sisters have their own power suits, just in case something unexpected happened when he wasn’t around.

The Power Suits were connected to Athena, so if Remi and Rhia were to face any danger in Pangea, Thirteen’s supercomputer would be able to help.

“Brother, how long will you be gone?” Rhia asked.

“I don’t know,” Thirteen replied. “But I’ll go home as soon as I can, okay?”

The little girl looked sad, but she also understood that her brother had very important things to do.

The blood flowing inside Thirteen’s body was no longer that of an ordinary human.

He now carried the Royal Bloodline of the Artemian and Chandrean Royal Families.

The Chandreans had even bestowed him the name Endymion, which referred to a young man loved by the Moon Goddess.

Remi, who was also seated beside her brother, watched the TV that was currently showing the situation in the Cygni Continent.

Hordes of Rank 1 and Rank 2 Monsters prowled the lands where villages, towns, and cities used to stand.

The majority of the citizens had already evacuated, and those who remained were the people who wished to protect their homeland from the Jinn Invasion.

All of them became the militia at the Cygni Coalition, which was led by the Patriarch of the Griffin Clan, Douglas Griffin.

Serving as his strategist while Thirteen was not around was none other than Renz Elrod, who was also the strategist of the Dvalinn Federation.

This fight was very important. If they were to lose the battle, the lands that belonged to humanity would once again decrease, leaving only the Sirius and the Aldebaran Continent as the bastions of humanity.

“We are reporting live from Cresthaven City, where military forces and volunteer Wanderers have established a base to counter the advancing horde of Jinns. The threat is steadily moving westward toward the capital city, prompting heightened defensive efforts in the region,” a young lady reporter said.

Thirteen recognized the Bee Bee Cee reporter, as she had also reported the events that happened in the Rigel Continent when they decided to reclaim the northern lands of the continent.

‘I think her name is Rein,’ Thirteen thought. ‘That girl who likes to report in dangerous places.’

Joshua mentioned in passing that he now had a girlfriend who was a reporter in Bee Bee Cee News.

For the time being, Thirteen set this thought aside as he listened to her live report.

“And now, we’re speaking with one of the Squad Captains leading the effort to eliminate the Jinns before they reach the city,” the reporter named Rein smiled before the camera moved to focus on the handsome young man, whom Thirteen, Remi, and Rhia immediately recognized.

“Sir Roland, can you share your thoughts on the current situation here in Cresthaven City?” Rein asked. “Do you believe the Wanderers and the military will be able to hold the line against the Jinns advancing toward the West?”

“Right now, we are only dealing with some small fries,” Roland replied. “The City will not fall against the hordes of Wolf Monsters at this point in time. We will defend it without fail.”

“Those are some very assuring words, Sir Roland,” Rein commented. “But are you the only member of the Hero Party present? Where are your comrades?”

“They will arrive when the time is right,” Roland answered. “For now, I am more than enough to hold the front lines.”

“Sir Roland, people are asking whether the Sage, Joshua, is still part of the Hero Party,” Rein stated. “Can you confirm if he’s still part of your team?”

The reporter did her best to hide the anxiety on her face as the question had been made on the spot.

However, it was also true that many wished to know if the rift between the Hero and the Sage had been repaired during the past two years since they had a falling out with each other.

“My relationship with Joshua will not affect the mission given to us by the Grand Marshal,” Roland replied after organizing his thoughts. “While we may not be as close as we used to be in the past, it doesn’t change the fact that Joshua is still part of the Hero Party.

“Humanity needs to unite towards a common enemy, so I advise anyone who has a grudge against your fellow Wanderers to put aside your differences for the time being and work hand in hand for the greater good.”

“Thank you for the clarification, Sir Roland,” Rein said. “Do you have any words to say to anyone before you clear up the Jinns surrounding the City?”

“Yes, I do,” Roland replied before looking straight at the camera. “Zion, I am waiting for you here. Let’s finish our business before this invasion comes in full swing.”

Remi and Rhia glanced at their brother, who was looking at the TV screen with an amused look on his face.

Rein, who was also surprised by Roland’s words, only thought that he was asking for Zion Leventis to come to the Cygni Continent as soon as possible so that they would be able to fight the Jinns together.

“I’m sure your message will reach Sir Zion soon.” Rein smiled and faced the camera. “That is all for Bee Bee Cee News. We will keep you updated about the latest happenings as the countdown for Zero Hours begins!”

After the live broadcast ended, several footage of villages and towns overridden by Jinns were shown to the viewers.

All of this footage was captured by drones by both the military and the media personnel stationed in the different parts of the Cygni Continent.

Since most cities were already abandoned, and the resistance forces that remained were scattered and shorthanded, nearly a tenth of the Continent had fallen under the Jinn’s control.

However, this was still within the expectations of the military.

Their goal wasn’t to guard each village, town, or city near the dimensional gates.

They had focused their manpower on the major cities located at the center of the continent, acting as a buffer to their main headquarters, which was located on the capital city of the Cygni Continent, Horizon City.

Suddenly, Thirteen’s communicator started ringing.

Messages from Erica, Sherry, Shana, Derek, Mildred, and Diana, who watched Roland’s interview, arrived one by one.

His lovers told him to not take Roland’s words seriously, while Derek, Mildred, and Diana were asking what Roland wanted from Zion.

He replied to their messages, telling them he was also curious about what Roland had to say to him.

‘I wonder what he is planning to do when the two of us meet,’ Thirteen mused after he finished replying to the messages sent to him. ‘Does he perhaps want to challenge me into a duel?’

Thirteen couldn’t help but smirk because Roland was still unaware that he and Shana were now secretly engaged to each other.

He was already looking forward to the Hero’s reaction once he discovered that the Saintess whom he had a crush on had decided to choose Zion over him.
