After leaving the Domain of the Apocalypse, Thirteen appeared in the room assigned to him by House Pavareth.
He walked out of it quietly and headed to the living room.
The teenage boy wasn’t surprised when he didn’t see anyone there at this hour of the day.
It was around seven in the morning.
Whenever he slept with his lovers, he would often only get out of bed at eight or nine in the morning, given that there weren’t any pressing matters he needed to attend to.
Thirteen decided to make himself comfortable and sat on the couch.
A passing maid servant approached him to ask if he wanted something to drink or if he wanted to eat breakfast.
“Just coffee, and six sugar cubes,” Thirteen said, making the maid servant look at him weirdly.
But since he was a VIP guest, she bowed her head obediently and went to make his coffee.
While the teenage boy waited for his order to arrive, Princess Xynalia walked down the stairs, holding onto the railings.
When Thirteen saw her, he gave her a brief nod and asked if she needed help walking.
Princess Xynalia wanted to roll her eyes at the shameless teenage boy, who was the one who caused her current state.
Still, she bit her lip then lowered her pride, asking him to help her.
Thirteen obliged and helped support the young lady’s body until they arrived at the couch.
“You’re a very bad boy, Zion,” Princess Xynalia said after sitting on the couch with his help.
“I am indeed a bad boy.” Thirteen didn’t even bother to deny the princess’ statement because there was no need to.
The succubus princess pouted as she clung to his arm.
“What exactly did you do last night?” Princess Xynalia inquired. “How did you do it?”
“That’s a trade secret,” Thirteen answered.
“Well, whatever it was, it felt good. Can I experience it one more time?”
“Are you perhaps a masochist?”
Thirteen eyed Princess Xynalia. To be fair, masochistic succubi were very common in their race.
He just didn’t think she’d be one of them, so he deliberately asked for a reference.
“I’m not a masochist,” Princess Xynalia’s face reddened. “It was the first time something like that happened to me, and I want to understand it better.”
“If you say so.” Thirteen nodded.
Princess Xynalia didn’t respond right away. Her fingers curled gently around his arm, as if trying to gauge his warmth and understand him through touch alone.
At that moment, the servant appeared in the living room, holding a tray.
The scent of roasted coffee drifted through the room as the maid approached Zion and set the food tray on the small table in front of him.
She then bowed respectfully to Princess Xynalia and asked her if she wanted something as well.
“I’m fine for now,” Princess Xynalia said. “But, please serve breakfast in half an hour.”
“Yes, Your Highness,” the servant bowed respectfully and left the living room.
She had seen how her Highness was holding onto the human’s arm, and it was very obvious that she didn’t want anyone else in the living room aside from the two of them.
Princess Xynalis reluctantly removed her hand from the teenage boy’s shoulder so that he could drink his coffee.
A few minutes of silence descended upon them before the young lady broke the silence to speak to him.
“You’re different from the others…,” Princess Xynalia said. “Most would have taken what I offered without hesitation. Yet you didn’t.”
Thirteen turned his head slightly, his gaze catching hers. “Would you have been happy if I did?”
“I don’t know.” Princess Xynalia’s voice was soft, almost vulnerable. “But I would have at least understood it. Desire, I know how to handle it. But restraint…?”
She leaned in, the tips of her purple hair brushing his shoulder. “It’s rather more unsettling than anything else.”
Thirteen’s lips curved faintly. It was not quite a smile, and he certainly wasn’t happy. “I wasn’t trying to unsettle you.”
“Then what were you trying to do?” Princess Xynalia asked. “You could have just played along, and we would have enjoyed a memorable night together.
“Why did you show restraint? Why did you refuse? Am I not tempting enough? Am I lacking compared to your lovers?”
She wanted to tell him that she had wanted him to be her first.
She wanted to tell him that she planned to give him her innocence.
But she didn’t.
Her pride didn’t allow her to say such things.
Princess Xynalia didn’t want to look weak in front of the teenage boy, whom she thought would gladly accept the things that she offered him.
“What were you trying to do?” Princess Xynalia insisted. “What do you want to prove?”
“I didn’t plan to prove anything,” Thirteen replied. “It just didn’t feel right. I don’t want to betray my lovers’ trust.”
For a moment, Princess Xynalia said nothing.
Then, with the faintest tremble in her voice, she asked, “That’s it? If you, I, and my servants didn’t say anything, no one would know. It would have been a secret between us.
“If you had asked them to leave, they would have done so, and they would have kept their lips sealed until their last breath.”
Just as Thirteen was about to reply, the two heard the faint sound of footsteps coming from upstairs.
Roland and Princess Laventia descended the stairs, walking hand in hand. Both were blushing, as if they had just done something that the world shouldn’t know about.
“Well, at least it seems that my sister had a memorable night,” Princess Xynalia said in a volume that only Zion could hear. “She looks so happy and content. That is the face of a girl in love.”
“How about Roland?” Thirteen asked with curiosity, momentarily setting aside the serious talk he had with the princess.
“He looks like a man who had finally tasted the forbidden fruit,” Princess Xynalia answered. “I believe you humans call this the honeymoon phase.”
“They look good together,” Thirteen commented before taking a sip of his coffee.
“Indeed.” Princess Xynalia smiled sweetly, feeling happy that at least her sister had found happiness, even if only for a fleeting moment.
