Fieldrocks Great Battle (1)

Garhan was sitting in the office of the Kaldris Regent Palace, looking at the light screen.

The blonde black beauty in the video tilted her head.

“There was an opinion that the young Sword King might be an Alien?”

“Yes, though the evidence is poor.”

“Hmm.”

Genovia, who had been lost in thought for a while, spoke up.

“If he’s an Alien, that explains a lot.”

The most embarrassing part about Sword King Felard was that he was too strong to be in his 20s.

“If he is older than he looks, that strength isn’t very convincing either.”

“And I can understand that his level is only seven.”

Genovia looked at the strange level of the Sword King and doubted that the Goddess’s incarnation had made a move.

But they couldn’t figure out why.

What did the incarnation have to gain by manipulating the Apostle’s level?

Why was she hiding his real skills? If they fought a few times, they would find out anyway.

But if Felard was an Alien, the story was different.

“In the past, there was a unique item called the Soul-Jamming Emblem that obscured the wearer’s level.”

Those involved wondered what the use of that item was because Latnains had nothing to do with it.

“But wasn’t it useful enough for Aliens?”

The higher the level, the more addicted they became to murder, and the more they suffered from severe withdrawal symptoms.

But if the level were unknown, they would be free from that constraint.

It would be easier to penetrate Latna’s society.

“It makes sense that the incarnation of darkness deliberately let his skills remain and only lowered his level.”

Indeed, they were told that the Sword King had avoided murder as much as possible in the battles.

“It’s the kind of behavior that a freed Alien would do after suffering from a murder addiction.”

Genovia nodded at Garhan’s explanation.

“Then I understand why he’s disguising himself as a Valtara warrior.”

The incarnation of the Goddess was unable to use magic tools since her level became unknown.

If he was in a similar situation, he couldn’t use magic tools either.

If he was disguised as a Valtara warrior to avoid public suspicion, that was a pretty good choice.

“Is he an Alien?”

The more she thought about it, the more suspicious she became of Han-bin.

But Genovia shook her head soon.

It was also difficult to conclude that he was an Alien.

“How the hell did the Alien learn Baotolt’s swordsmanship?”

Suppose that he picked Gigant from the Sword King’s tomb.

The Valtara’s Fighting Spirit was the unique skill of Baotolt. His swordsmanship was also inexorably similar to those of Baotolt.

“And why would the Incarnation of darkness choose the Alien as an apostle?”

If she needed a strong helper, a good appointment already existed.

There was Leon Hart, the Templar Lord of Kybriel’s Church and the most powerful Spiritist at the time, but she had deliberately chosen the Devil’s spout to accompany her?

Of course, she couldn’t be picky of the bread color, whether it was white or black…

“Even so, I don’t think she’d ever chosen an unreliable Alien.”

“That’s true. She’s the Goddess of Latna.”

The two were confused.

It was plausible to suspect, but there were too many things that they didn’t think were true.

“Well, does it not matter, Garhan?”

Genovia, who was agonizing over it, raised her hands.

“Even if he’s an Alien, nothing changes.”

The old vassal of the Kaldris Kingdom was right.

Either way, the fact that Felard Bean was now a ‘real Sword King’ was unmistakable.

“If he were an Alien, would that be able to support the rumor that the incarnation of darkness is a lie, Genovia?”

“It’s so hard to prove.”

The most obvious way to prove it was to see if the body would remain after killing him.

But it wouldn’t matter if he was an Alien or not when he was killed.

“Even if we don’t, rumors of the fake incarnation have already spread enough.”

“Then what about putting a ban on him like Akhtarun’s Aliens?”

“Once I’ve overpowered him, I’ll ban him through a special ceremony, and if I can, I’ll just kill him.”

Over and over again, Genovia suddenly hardened her expression.

“But… in this case, I can make one hypothesis.”

“What’s that?”

“As to why Hollien, who had the skill Transcendence, couldn’t escape and lost.”

What if the Sword King Felard was an Alien?

What if he had a special ability that even the Archmage couldn’t conceptualize?

“There’s a possibility that he sealed Hollien’s Transcendence with his special power.”

After a long study, she had decoded the Guidelines of the Devil almost perfectly.

But there were still some unconfirmed parts.

There was no law that he would have no incredible ability in the mystery box.

Garhan had a serious look on his face.

“I haven’t thought of that either. Was it right not to move hastily?”

Genovia turned her head and looked out of the window in the screen of light.

Toward Fort Fieldrocks, northwest of the Mado Kingdom.

“We’ll find out soon enough.”

The preparation for finding out about the opponent was already complete.

“Very soon.”

* * *

Ryu Han-bin climbed the gray stairs calmly.

After scaling the wall, he took his left hand onto his forehead and looked out into the open forests and fields.

The 65,000 troops were arranged in an orderly formation.

They were the allies of the Kaldris and Mado kingdom.

Han-bin clicked his tongue.

“Wow, there are much more than I thought.”

He hadn’t expected it to be that many when he heard the numbers.

It felt completely different from unwrapping a sack of rice letting it fall on the floor.

Furthermore, it was all the more so if each grain of rice was wearing armor with spears and swords at a certain interval.

Besides, there weren’t only humans in that landscape.

“There’s a lot of doctors, a lot of Golem Steeds… Are those siege weapons? I heard the wizards didn’t develop much of a siege weapon, but they do have one.”

Mumbling, Ryu Han-bin looked through the enemies in front of him.

Indeed, he felt the huge war ahead of them even though he had gotten quite used to wars from the constant fighting.

He suddenly felt strange.

“Oh, how did I end up here?”

The original purpose was to return home to the extent possible and avenge the men who made him look like that.

But it just so happened that he had come to a position that controlled the fate of the world.

“Well, I don’t have the obsession with going home as much as I used to.”

He heard a soft voice behind his back.

“Oh, I guess you don’t miss your hometown much anymore.”

A beautiful black-haired beauty approached Ryu Han-bin.

“Well, not necessarily.”

Looking back at Kibie, Han-bin shrugged.

“I still want to go back, but it’s not as if I miss it as I used to.”

“Isn’t that the same?”

“It’s a little different.”

Ryu Han-bin continued his explanation.

“It’s not that I don’t want to go back, but it’s not enough to add the grand word longing.”

He had met a lot of nice people in Latna, too. He was called the Sword King and had been treated quite well.

It was inevitable that he no longer felt as desperate as he used to be.

“And when you go back to Earth, you’ll get old.”

That was the biggest point.

Through Hollien’s ‘Complete Omphalos’s Blessing,’ Kibie found out the hidden secrets of the Guidelines.

She had already figured out that Aliens couldn’t live beyond their life like those blessed by the Goddesses.

“You fucking devil, there’s nothing I’m not lying about.”

So Kibie promised to remove Ryu Han-bin’s Guideline and give him the Goddesses’ blessings instead when she regained her power.

If the effect were the same, the Goddess’s power would be 100 times better than the power of the mysterious Devil.

The problem was that whether it was the blessing of the Devil or the blessing of the Goddess, it was limited to Latna to the extent that it took effect.

That was why Omphalos had purposely created a parallel world of Latna and raised the Aliens.

In other words, when Ryu Han-bin returned to Earth, he would lose the power of eternal youth and age again.

“Fortunately, I’m not going back to my mid-forties, which is my original age, but I’m just getting older at this point.”

If Han-bin just stayed in this world, he could stay young, and since he became someone blessed by the Goddess, people would no longer suspect him, and he would have a strong sponsor.

He couldn’t help but worry.

“I’ll die when I am done with my life.”

Suddenly, Han-bin made a playful expression.

“Maybe the merciful Goddess will give her Apostle more grace? She will increase my life expectancy. Then I’m thinking of staying in this world and serving Kybriel faithfully.”

“That’s an attractive offer, but…”

With a soft smile, Kibie touched Ryu Han-bin’s hair.

“Han-bin, we didn’t mean to put a limit on the lifespan of the blessing of eternal youth.”

The human ego came from its essence, the soul.

If the human soul were something like software put into a computer, it would be possible to live forever by changing hardware.

The human ego didn’t exist that way.

Only in the unique spiritual framework of the soul did ‘information’ become ‘conscious and ‘ego.’

“And this soul also has a fixed time to exist.”

Nothing in the world lasted forever.

After about 150 years, no matter how healthy the body was, the soul would meet its end.

“Oh, well, shouldn’t those blessed by the Goddesses live to be at least 150 years?”

“If you live a long life through natural aging, that could be possible.”

As the body aged, so did the mind. It meant that the burden of the soul was gradually decreasing.

So even if he got older, he could maintain his ego.

“But if you force yourself to stay young, the burden on your soul increases.”

The lifespan of the soul would be reduced, and about 100 years was the limit.

Considering that it was hard for a person to live longer than 100 years old, it couldn’t be said that it was unfair.

“We don’t mean to kill a mortal who can live longer.”

“Well, was that it?”

Han-bin, who nodded in agreement, asked again.

“Then what was it about breaking the balance of the world?”

“Forcing to extend the lifespan of the soul, it takes a vast amount of divinity.”

That was what the Thunder King and the Archmage would be trying to do at that moment.

“That’s the act of getting hold of the divinity and getting eternal life.”

The divinity of the six Goddesses was an integral part of maintaining Latna.

What if the sacred cogs fell out of the sophisticated world?

“Of course, it’ll go out of balance.”

Even if it didn’t, it seemed that if the mortals lived too long, the balance of the world would be shaken by a kind of butterfly effect.

Of course, it didn’t matter for Omphalos whether the balance of Latna was broken or not, but there was no reason to give precious divinity to an Earthling.

“I see.”

Ryu Han-bin straightened his back.

He didn’t look disappointed.

He still had more than a few decades to live. There was no reason to tremble already.

“Anyway, now I’m thinking of focusing only on the Thunder King and the Archmage.”

Whether he would return to Earth or stay in Latna…

“The Goddesses’ power is necessary.”

His powerful grip grabbed the handle of the Great Sword Gigant.
