Chapter 2061: A Promise…
From there, Nux saw Sharnoth’s memories all the way to the point where she wore the Artifact he gave her, and the memories finally ended.
“…”
Nux stayed silent for a minute. To him, it felt like a total of a hundred thousand years had passed, but in reality, barely a few minutes had passed.
He needed some time to get used to the time disparity.
Yes, it wasn’t the first time he had done this, not to mention he had devoured actual worlds with millions if not billions of years of memories, so it shouldn’t be a big deal for him.
But he still needed a few seconds to adjust.
Not to mention he just formed a new Law—an incomplete Law, yes. Sharnoth may be a genius, but she wasn’t born in Chaosveil, and Zylarith only gave her the artifacts that dealt with just a single part of Chaos, ensuring that her knowledge would always be incomplete.
Of course, it wasn’t a big deal. Almost every being in the Universe has Incomplete Laws. Even the Umbrasol Progenitors were no exception; they only understood a part of Death, not complete Death.
However…
If Nux’s theory was correct,
Then Zylarith was an exception to this rule.
He… he must have the Complete Law of Absolute Chaos.
A stronger version of the Law Sharnoth had formed. This was also how he was able to momentarily take over Sharnoth’s body back in Khaemorr.
Of course, to Nux, this did not matter.
Complete or Incomplete, it was still a Chaos-related Law nonetheless. With a light smile on his face, Nux raised his head and suddenly, a black-purple energy hovered above his palm.
He then closed his eyes to sense the energies inside his universe, and there it was.
The Energy of Chaos flowing inside his Universe together with other Primordial Energies.
’Three more left.’
Shadow muttered with a big smile on her face, knowing exactly what Nux was thinking.
’Indeed.’
Nux nodded.
’Found anything interesting?’
Aisha questioned with a playful smile on her face.
’I did.’
Nux nodded.
’Very interesting things.’
His smile widened.
’You should call her then.’
Aisha suggested. Nux, however, shook his head.
’Not now.
I need to prepare something.’
’Hmm?’
The Succubus frowned, and Nux’s smile widened even further.
’She is going to be an ally; shouldn’t I prepare a meeting gift?’
…
A few hours later, Nux activated the Call Artifact, and Sharnoth picked it up in one ring—almost as if she was waiting for him.
“You look desperate.”
Nux laughed.
“It isn’t good if you act too desperately in a negotiation. People on the other side of the negotiation could take advantage of that situation.”
“I already showed you my memories. You know everything about me. These political games would only waste more time.”
Sharnoth answered with an emotionless look on her face.
“That’s true.”
Nux nodded.
“So? What is it that you want?”
“You already know that.”
Sharnoth answered with the same look, and Nux just stared at her with a deadpan look on his face.
“You are no fun, you know that?”
“I sometimes get that.”
“Stop lying. No one ever said that to you because they were too scared. I know because I read your memories.”
Nux waved his hand dismissively.
Sharnoth stayed silent.
After a moment, Nux sighed, and the playful look on his face disappeared. He then looked into Sharnoth’s eyes and—
“You want revenge, do you not?”
“Yes.”
“It won’t be easy.”
Nux shook his head.
“You do not have to—”
“I will stop acting against you. I have no reason to, not anymore.
But you know this won’t solve the problem.”
“…”
Sharnoth’s face turned solemn.
Just as Nux said, even if he did give up now, the damage was already done. Her reputation had plummeted, her Faction was weakened considerably, and the enemy had used this chance to strengthen itself.
Not just that—even if Sharnoth ignored all that, rebuilt her strength, and surpassed Aurendor and its Faction to reach a point where she could defeat them—
Now that she has used Chaos so openly, it was nearly impossible to contain this matter. Vexarion and his people could always use that as an excuse to seek asylum in the Supreme Worlds.
It wouldn’t be surprising if the Supreme Worlds decided to act against them as well.
Not to mention, there was also Zylarith, who wouldn’t just let Sharnoth go—not after she ruined whatever plan he had.
There were simply too many variables stacked against her.
“What do you want?”
Sharnoth questioned directly. She knew that if Nux was bringing it up, he must have had a solution.
Whatever the price, she was prepared—even if she had to sacrifice her life.
“Time.”
Nux answered.
“What…?”
“I can help you in your battle against Aurendor, but I am not strong enough to deal with the Supreme Worlds if they decide to involve themselves with this situation, which I know they will.
I would have directly teleported you next to Vexarion, but you will then be suppressed by Aurendor, and defeating him in that state wouldn’t be easy either.
If you wish to win, you need to capture Vexarion off guard, which is highly unlikely considering the current situation.
The only other, much surer way would be… to go against the Supreme Worlds, which, admittedly, I am not strong enough for yet.”
Nux answered honestly. Then, he looked into Sharnoth’s eyes with a determined look on his face and—
“So give me time, Sharnoth Nocthys.
I promise you that there will come a day when Aurendor and Vexarion Aurendor will be under your feet, groveling and begging for mercy.”
“…”
Sharnoth turned silent at those words.
A promise…
Honestly, she did not have the heart to believe such a thing after being betrayed once. But in the position she was, she had no other cho—
“And to prove my determination, I offer you this.”
Just as Sharnoth was thinking all this, Nux suddenly waved his hand, and suddenly, a face Sharnoth could never forget appeared beside him.
“Remember him?”
“!!!”
Nux questioned and—Sharnoth’s crimson eyes burned with rage.
The Aurendor soldier who once raped her mother till she started crying…
This bastard…
He was alive!!
“As unlikely as it sounds, the dude became a Transcendent.
He doesn’t have much time left though,
So I was hoping to gift him to you—you know, to give him some ’good time’ like he always wanted.”
Nux offered as his smile became demonic.
