After dealing with Charlotte, Nathan obviously had to face Vivian because he planned to do something extremely reckless.
“You are going to enter the alien territory by yourself?” Vivian’s expression darkened. There was no way she would allow such a reckless thing. Even she had a hard time exploring the alien territory with Melissa, let alone someone like him.
Nathan nodded with a serious expression. “I know Master is worried about me, but I can assure you I have thought this through. I don’t plan to throw away my life there.”
“You think I don’t know how dangerous that place is? If you at least bring one person, I can’t say much, but alone?” Vivian gritted her teeth. Vivian was just worried about him, which was understandable, considering Nathan ended up meeting two elite class aliens on this trip alone. If not for Count Ashton, she didn’t know whether Nathan could return or not.
Nathan, on the other hand, stated, “I know why you are worried. As my teacher, you have all the right to worry about me… Well, I do have a plan to ensure my safety.”
“Hoo?” Vivian squinted her eyes.
Nathan looked at her in the eye before revealing one name. “Evelyn Lavender.”
“!!!” Vivian clenched her hands into fists. She knew Evelyn was still alive, unlike Melissa, and Evelyn was indeed strong enough to protect him. But he couldn’t think of a reason for her helping him.
Nathan stated, “As you probably already know, I don’t have enough strength to go against the Divine Hand. That’s why I need to become stronger.”
“If it’s the Divine Hand, you just have to work together… just like what you’ve done this whole time…”
Nathan shook his head. “No. Divine Hand is just the beginning!”
“!!!” Vivian’s expression darkened even further. “What do you mean?”
She thought there was another threat she wasn’t aware of. That thought alone scared her because the world was already chaotic enough because of the aliens. Having another hidden threat would just destroy the four kingdoms and let the aliens overrun the countries.
Nathan raised one finger. “Although I’m not entirely sure yet, we are planning to leave this land and head to the place where those people come from.”
“!!!” Vivian was in utter shock. The ‘people’ in his mouth were definitely the ones that caused the Bloody Banquet. Vivian pinched the bridge of her nose and said, “This is not your problem…”
“What do you mean? It is my problem.” Nathan snorted.
Vivian’s body shook. She bit her lips before saying, “I have already moved on. I don’t plan to have my revenge. The best revenge is to have a good life.”
“I don’t seek revenge. What I want is closure.” Nathan shook his head.
“Do you… understand what you’ve said just now?”
“I do.” Nathan nodded without hesitation.
Vivian was rubbing her forehead for a minute, falling into deep thought. She never thought Nathan would go that far.
Nathan should have known about the familiar who died to protect her. Although his action might look like he was helping Evelyn, Nathan truly wanted Vivian to completely move on from her past.
If she had truly moved on, she wouldn’t say much about the Bloody Banquet. But just like Melissa, she was still coping with her trauma.
Unlike Melissa, who drowned herself in pleasure to forget the unbearable pain, Vivian buried herself with work. She worked so hard to the point where she didn’t have time to think about it anymore.
It was fine if Vivian didn’t want revenge. However, as her student, Nathan planned to bring this hatred to an end. He hoped Vivian could finally let the burden in her heart go, allowing her to completely look toward the future.
“You…” Vivian bit her lips. She seemed to have a hard time after Nathan brought up the past. It was clear she was still suffering from it.
Vivian soon gritted her teeth and joined her hands on her forehead, covering her eyes from Nathan. She looked like she was having a hard time processing everything.
Nathan realized Vivian needed a bit of time. He stood up and politely bowed. “Even if you stop me from going, I will still go.
“It’s true that I want to help Evelyn and Bella, but more importantly, I want to help you, Master.
“You have done a lot for me. Without you, I won’t be able to achieve all this. I won’t have the time element, I won’t have a senior that can guide me, and I don’t know… I might have died if not for you strengthening my body.
“That’s why… You’re probably the biggest reason for me doing this. That Bloody Banquet is already in the past, but it still continues to haunt you in the present. Hence, I will use my own way to sever that connection so that you can live freely in the future.
“I’m planning to absorb an elite core for the next few days before heading to Evelyn. Just like you said, I need someone who also wields a rare element like Evelyn to be able to utilize my element better.
“Once I’m done with the Divine Hand, that continent will be next.” Nathan looked at her for a moment. Seeing Vivian not making any move, Nathan bowed one more time before walking out of the house.
There was one thing he chose not to say. When he just came to this world, he was so confused about this world and felt extremely lonely because he was alone in this world.
Selena might be the first one he encountered, but the first one he could talk to was Vivian.
While it was true that Nathan’s mind was a bit immature back then, the time they spent together in the last couple of months had confirmed it. She was probably his first crush in this world.
Nathan never thought much about it because she was his teacher. She was the first person that taught him familial love was real. Hence, it was time for him to repay her, as he hoped that she could finally live for herself in the future.
