Sunday morning started the same as usual. More than an hour was spent with Akane, Miwa-nee and me calming down the side effects of the tea, or at least, before Minoru woke up.
A thirty-minute workout routine along with practicing tennis swings. And another thirty minutes practicing the keyboard and answering theoretical questions from Mizuki.
By the time I finished with that, our breakfast was ready and the four of us ate together in a jovial mood.
"Husband, bring an umbrella with you, the forecast said it's going to rain," Akane called out to me as I was about to leave the house.
"Thanks. But don't you think it's too early to bring this? I'll be back before lunch with our groceries." I grabbed the umbrella before pinching my silly girl's cheek.
"But the weather is unpredictable, you know?" Akane pouted, wrapping her arms around my waist. "Better to be ready than sorry."
Miwa-nee chuckled at our exchange, "She's right, Ruki. Bring it with you just in case. Anyway, don't forget what I told you to buy, alright?"
With a nod, I kissed Akane's forehead and promised to grab everything on the list Miwa-nee maid.
I stepped out into a rather humid morning air which was quite uncomfortable. The sun was barely visible because of the clouds and yet, the sunlight managed to cast a gloomy glow over the neighborhood. It was definitely a sign of rain. But it's not like I was complaining. Rain has its own charm, after all.
Upon arriving at the Nikaido Household, I was met by Eimi, already waiting outside their door. Wearing a one-piece dress that seemed to fit right into the upcoming summer season. As always, she looked absolutely stunning and my heart skipped a bit. With her clear round eyes focusing on me, I was greeted by her radiant smile, "Ruki, good morning. You're right on time."
"Am I? And here I thought I was late." I teased, taking in her lovely appearance. Her cheeks flushed lightly while she playfully rolled her eyes.
Stepping forward, I reached for her wrist before pulling her to me. Eimi looked up and closed her eyes, allowing me to kiss her deeply. My hand slipped to her back as I felt her body mold into mine. The kiss wasn't brief and it was filled with passion and longing we had for each other.
When we pulled apart, the girl buried her face into my chest before saying in a muffled voice, "You're lucky Anzu-nee is still inside. She'll be so awkward to see us like this."
"Well, that's why I acted a little bold. By the way, she's not... trying to run away from me, right?"
It's been a week since that chocolate incident where we both lost our inhibitions. We ended up crossing some lines. While we hadn't talked directly yet, I already heard a lot of updates about her through Eimi.
"What do you think?"
"Let's see, if I'm in her shoes, I'll probably delay seeing me as much as possible. I mean, how do you think we are going to start our conversation?" I wryly smiled as I pondered on the situation.
Eimi just chuckled at my remark, "You two are really on the same page. Ruki, can I get jealous?"
"Mhm. Of course, you can. Even after you told me it might feel awkward for you, something still happened between us."
"I knew you'd say that... I was the one who insisted on those chocolates. Am I not partly at fault too?"
"Let's see. Nope. Not really. Anzu-nee-san and I kind of sobered up in the middle of it... We could've stopped yet we didn't."
There's no reason to blame her for it and besides, she should be mad at me instead, no? Yet she's not even trying to. She simply wanted to express what she felt. 𐍂αŊȪᛒΕᶊ
"Uhm... Promise me, Ruki." Eimi clutched at my shirt as she silently pleaded with her gaze, her cheeks a rosy pink.
"What is it?" I asked, my voice gentle as I stroked her hair.
"Promise me you'll do it with me first..." As soon as she said that, her face instantly burned hot as if all of her embarrassment pooled into her cheeks. She probably thought a lot about this. And I could tell that despite her initial jealousy with Anzu-nee, they've already talked about this a lot for the past week. She had accepted that Anzu-nee might become like her depending on how our talk would go.
"Girl... Any guy would be speechless by that. But since I'm not just any guy, I can only answer honestly." I lifted her face, taking in her current expression, which was a mixture of hope and embarrassment. She wanted to dig a hole in my chest to hide her face but at the same time, she wanted to hear me say yes.
"There you go again with your honesty. Do you know? Whenever you say that, it feels more suspenseful than any suspense movie." Eimi joked as she held onto me tighter. She's not just feeling the suspense, she's also feeling dreadful regarding what kind of answer I would give her.
I patted her head then caressed her cheek gently with my thumb, trying to ease her nerves, "Eimi, don't worry. I may not be able to promise it but my desire for you is already at the limit. We just need that timing."
"What if the timing is now?"
"Are you sure?"
"... No."
"There you go. Let's not rush it, alright? It'll come naturally. We were close to it last time but with the chocolate making you too drowsy, I naturally couldn't just force it. After all, I care more about you as a person rather than just count you as one of my girls. I can be a scumbag to everyone else but not to any of you."
Eimi's eyes trembled a little bit before her expression softened up. Following that, she tiptoed, placing another kiss on my lips.
She knew I was telling the truth. Like most of my girls, they knew my character more than me. But of course, women were more emotional than men. They tend to overthink when it comes to this kind of thing. On the other, I was probably acting a little nonchalant. My habit of overthinking wasn't activating when it came to a serious issue like this.
"... Idiot Ruki. Thanks for reminding me why I still approached you despite knowing you're already involved with the girls. You're always like this to everyone you care about."
"Well, that might be wrong. I cut them all off once, right?"
"That's also because you care for them, Ruki. You don't want to keep dragging them with you. You may have failed since they all returned to your arms but your intention was clear. And now with Anzu-nee... I know you'll take care of her better than her past boyfriends. She won't fall for you otherwise." Eimi said as we both glanced at the door to their house.
Inside, there was probably Anzu-nee-san anxiously pacing around or eavesdropping on us.
She had every right to be nervous, considering the awkwardness that was bound to come from her recent intimate moment with me.
Now I get why Eimi was waiting for me here. Apart from wanting to express her feelings of jealousy and address it, she's also buying her older cousin time to mentally prepare herself.
"Mhm. You're exactly right. That's why... Why don't we go to the supermarket first and get our groceries?" I put on a smirk before addressing the door, "And Anzu-nee-san, if you can hear me, I'll see you when we return from the supermarket. Don't hide from me, alright? Or else this naughty little brother of yours will search for you inside and lock you down the moment I see you."
A few seconds after I said that, Eimi and I heard some dull thumping noises inside the house, followed by faint footsteps moving away from it. She's going to pretend she didn't hear that.
Oh well, even if she acts oblivious later, I'll do my best to make her open up to me.
