Chapter 352: Alaric’s Energy Core

The warriors nervously observed the quiet forest beyond the village. They heard from Rewin that an army of two hundred Harune warriors was coming.

With their numbers, how could they defend against an army of that size? Some considered escaping, but when they saw the one-armed old Knight standing on top of the walls, they immediately vanquished these thoughts. They felt ashamed of themselves.

Suddenly, the ground trembled and everyone heard movements up ahead.

“The enemies are here!” Rewin shouted with a grim look. He could finally see the two hundred warriors from Harune and their presence filled him with despair.

At this moment, Alaric jumped off the wall, shocking everyone.

“What are you doing?! Get back here, my lord!”

The village warriors anxiously called out to him, but Alaric was unmoved. He calmly stood while waiting for the enemy’s arrival.

Rewin watched his back, his eyebrows deeply furrowed.

What is His Highness thinking?

Soon, a barrage of arrows fell from the sky, tearing through the air, creating whistling sounds.

The arrows were targeted at Alaric!

However, unlike the normal Transcendent Knights who had to go through a tough process to form their energy cores, Alaric skipped this step and directly formed his own! Furthermore, his energy core was solid and free of impurities, making it hold more mana.

Alaric could feel this energy core pulsating intensely the more mana he released. The feeling was new to him and it filled him with excitement.

No wonder Galanar and the others seem to possess near inexhaustible mana. This is indeed a wondrous experience…

Alaric imbued his swords with mana, activating the abilities engraved upon them.

All of a sudden, the air around him turned cold. He then shot towards the approaching cavalrymen and released a series of slashes!

The cavalry failed to detect these tiny icicles and when they noticed that something was amiss, it was already too late. Many of their comrades had fallen prey, their heads punctured with small holes.

Seeing this, the leading Elite Knight realized that the young warrior who wore gaudy armor was a formidable foe.

“He is a Transcendent Knight! Protect your hearts and heads! Lift your shields!” He shouted, raising his shield to his head.

Hearing his words, his subordinates immediately lifted their shields.

“Die!” The commanding Elite Knight urged his horse to pounce at Alaric.

With an indifferent look, Alaric stabbed his short sword into the ground and summoned a sharp pillar of ice!

Rumble!

The commanding Elite Knight was horrified. He quickly jumped off his horse, narrowly evading the sharp ice pillar! As for his horse, it couldn’t evade in time and was ruthlessly cut in half.

Seeing this, the commanding Elite Knight was terrified.

Suddenly, he felt his body turning cold.

What’s happening?

He thought to himself as he looked down only to realize that he had been stabbed. His chest was slowly turning into ice and his body was starting to freeze.

Scared witless, he tried to lift his arms, but he was unable to move an inch.

Soon, his body turned into an ice statue.

At this moment, Alaric pulled his sword, breaking the ice statue into tiny fragments mixed with blood!

The abrupt death of their commander stunned the remaining soldiers of Harune.

Meanwhile, Rewin and the village warriors were watching the battle with stupefied gazes. They couldn’t believe what they were seeing.

Alaric faced the enemies alone and killed a fourth of them in less than a minute! He had even slain their commander in one move!

“His Highness is a Transcendent Knight!” Rewin exclaimed with a mixture of excitement and shock.

Hearing this, the village warriors glanced at him. “Sir Rewin, did you just say ’His Highness’? Just who is that person?”

Rewin knew that it was too late to hide the truth so he told them everything. “That young lord is His Highness Alaric Silversword!”

“What?!” The village warriors were dumbfounded.

While they were reeling in shock, the battle was starting to get more intense. Half of Harune’s soldiers had already died and another Elite Knight had been slain.

Alaric’s sword was dripping with blood, but it soon froze and broke into tiny fragments of ice.

The remaining soldiers of Harune pulled the reins of their horses while staring at the lone figure surrounded by ice shards and frozen blood.

The surviving Elite Knight gritted his teeth and commanded. “Retreat!”

Alaric sneered. “Did I allow you to leave?”

Hundreds of icicles appeared above the soldiers of Harune like sharp stalactites hanging over their heads.

With one command from Alaric, the icicles fell like arrows, piercing through the bodies of the warriors!

Screams of panic echoed in all directions, but their voices soon died down.
