SSS RANKED REINCARNATION: DARK DRAGON LEGACY
Chapter 395 - 395: Zareth versus the CrawlerThe crawler slowly made its way through the army of demons while Silva controlled it. Though there was one major issue with this spell—Silva was not gaining the exp from the demons that were getting eaten.
The crawler was absorbing them entirely, and nothing was getting to Silva. The only thing Silva could do was control it.
Even with all eleven minds working at hyperdrive, the strain that came from controlling the crawler was still extremely massive, and it was weighing on him heavily.
Silva was certain that he would not be able to use this spell for a very long while after he did now, but for now that he had it, he would wipe away the entire demon army here.
The crawler continued eating until the demons started trying to run, but they could not outrun the tongues of this creature.
While he was busy killing the demons, he felt a sudden presence headed for him. Someone was coming. It was fast and very strong from the looks of things.
Silva controlled the crawler. It shot over a hundred of its tongues at the incoming person, but what followed was a massive explosion. The tongues were ripped into pieces, but they immediately started growing back.
Silva was shocked at the fact that someone managed to harm this monstrosity. He looked at the figure who had finally come out of the clouds and saw her.
Commander Zareth looked down at the crawler with a frown. The slash she used now—she had expected it to heavily damage the creature, yet it took it and immediately healed back up.
It seemed she had grossly underestimated this monstrosity.
“I have to find its weakness,” Zareth said. Her eyes glowed as she scanned the crawling end from head to toe, and then finally, her eyes landed on the hidden mouth where Silva was.
“So that’s where you are?” she said.
Silva, on the other hand, was not focusing on the demon commander but rather the sword in her grip. The moment he saw the sword, he felt a strange apprehension for it.
From that distance, it was able to send chills down his spine. He knew that the sword was the reason why this demon had been able to cut his tongues.
He decided not to make the first move and simply watch this demon to see how she planned on battling the crawling end.
Zareth stayed put for a while. After a few minutes, she raised her sword up, her wings spread wide, and with one flap, she covered the distance in an instant.
But the crawler was not slow, as it fired black liquid projectiles at an incredible speed.
The blast projectiles were extremely fast and powerful. Zareth moved her sword as fast as she could, blocking the projectiles, but the force pushed her back, and some of the liquid landed on her armor and melted through it.
She looked at the holes in shock. She couldn’t believe that the liquid melted through demon-forged armor. That meant if she hadn’t carried God Slasher, she would have already been dead.
With that new realization, she knew she had to be far more nimble to survive. She flew faster, and when the crawler fired the liquid, she dodged and blocked them.
She thought she would be able to make it through this time, but suddenly, more mouths formed on the crawler, all focused on her, a tiny speck. Immediately, they started firing the liquid projectiles at her.
She had not expected this turn of events. She immediately went into full defense, swinging her blade like her life depended on it, blocking all the attacks, though some still brushed her, melting her armor and charring her skin.
The liquid projectiles that she blocked and dodged all hit the ground, melting the ground and forming deep craters several hundred meters wide with melted, bubbling sand inside.
Zareth’s armor was heavily melted at this point, and her burnt skin was showing, but rather than fear or worry, there was a look of excitement on her face.
“Hahaha hahaha! This is it, this is it! Someone that will give me a near-death experience—show me all you have!” she roared after a wild cackle. Silva heard that and couldn’t help but smirk as well.
He thought that when he got the crawler, he would be invincible and take out the demons, but it seemed he had been wrong. The crawler was not the only world-shattering being to exist.
‘Come at me, give me a good fight,’ Silva said in his mind. The strain on all his minds was heavy, his mana was pushing to keep regenerating and pumping more for his attacks.
His whole body screamed at him to stop the crawler spell, but he wasn’t. He wanted to take it to the max, to see what the strength of Ophelia’s gift was.
Zareth shot toward the crawler again, flying for the mouth Silva was in. The crawler responded with a barrage of shots aimed at her, but she didn’t stop or try to block. She raised the sword above her head and gritted her teeth.
“Arghhhhhhhhhhh!” She let out a roar and slashed down with all her strength. The slash carried so much force it blasted all the crawler’s attacks away and went on to dig into the crawler’s flesh.
The inside of the crawler was as black as its outside. The wound was deep, but nothing compared to its size.
The wound healed up almost instantly, and another set of mouths took its place, firing more attacks at her. She had not expected that, so the attacks landed on her.
Her body flew through the air, a huge part of her armor melted. She landed and tilted in the ground before coming to a stop.
She got back up, but rather than have the look of someone who took a very massive hit, she had a very wide smile on her face. She readied herself to attack once more.
