Soon enough, Eisen finished stitching the Paladin’s shoulder up some more and then covered his arm in some of his healing salve before covering it in some of his bandages, and all of a sudden, some notifications appeared in front of the old man.
[Surgery Skill Learned]
[First-Aid Skill Learned]
[Surgery Skill absorbed First-Aid Skill and became Medicinal Knowledge Skill]
"Huh..." Eisen muttered to himself in response and then waved the notifications away. That new skill will surely end up pretty useful sooner or later.
"It’s already... Feeling a lot better." The Paladin pointed out, and Eisen nodded his head with a smile. "Of course it does. Stitching wounds up is a lot better than just letting it hang there like that." Eisen explained, surprised to see that this wasn’t really common knowledge in a world like this, before moving his fingers through his beard.
"Well, for now, come to me every morning and evening and I’ll switch the bandages out for you. It’s apparently a type of wound that can’t be healed easily through magic, so we’ll have to just use magic to assist natural healing." Eisen explained while scratching the back of his head, and then did a few basic things that he learned throughout the past few years of having his own arm treated. It seemed like that last attack from Kiron did quite a number on the Paladin, but that was within expectations, if Eisen was to be perfectly honest.
At least he didn’t lose any limbs, those would be issues far harder to fix. "Look to the right for a little while. Kiron, can you help me make sure he can’t see his hand?" Eisen asked, and confused, he nodded his head, sitting down next to the two of them while the others that were around them started slowly setting things up for a camp, although the other originals were waiting for Eisen to finish. Jyuuk was actually quite surprised to see that Eisen was handling himself so well in the area of medicine, because that was somewhat his area of expertise, but Jyuuk didn’t really mind all that much. It was better if Eisen could take care of everything.
But in the meantime, the Beastperson wanted to do something else in order to pull the four commanders over to their side properly without having to tame them. And the way to do so was to summon a certain young man. Or rather, a monster in the shape of a green skinned, actually quite handsome young man.
"Gobu." Jyuuk said with a smile as he saw the figure of his tamed High-Goblin standing in front of him, and immediately, the High-Goblin lord looked at them surprised.
"Oh, one of my Kin, I see?" the Goblin Lord asked and approached them with a light smile on his face, and Gobu seemed to actually be similarly surprised at this situation. He looked at Jyuuk and tilted his head to the side confused, before Jyuuk just smiled nad looked at the Goblin Lord. "Yes, Eisen found him in a Monster Shop in a town on the mainland, and I tamed him in his stead because it is part of my occupation. I thought it would be a good idea to introduce you two, because you are both High-Goblins." Jyuuk explained, so Gobu looked away from Jyuuk and toward the High-Goblin Lord, before pointing at him and then at himself.
"Hmm, so he is incapable of speech like most of our Kin. Well, with time, you will surely learn. But it is nice to see that he is treated so well by you." The High-Goblin Lord said, just what Jyuuk wanted him to, and the Beastperson nodded his head. "Of course, I would never treat him badly. And in the same way, we will never treat those of all of your kins badly, you can trust us with that. On our way here, we were attacked, and we killed those that we had to defend ourselves against, but otherwise all of us left all Kobolds, Lizardmen, Goblins and Ratmen, as well as their offspring, alone." Jyuuk explained to them, and the High-Goblin began to rub his chin with a smile.
"Is that so? Interesting. You seem quite genuine with that. I will speak to the others and try to convince them, although the hardest should be my Lizardman companion." The High-Goblin explained, and with a grateful smile, the Monkey nodded his head.
"Thank you, that is greatly appreciated. And if it is not too much to ask, could you take Gobu along with you for a little while? I want him to spend some time with other Goblins." Jyuuk suggested, so the High-Goblin Lord slowly nodded his head.
"Of course, he can come with me if he wishes so." The High-Goblin Lord said, and with a nervous and excited smile on his face, Gobu slowly nodded, and then swiftly followed the Goblin Lord as he was walking back toward the other Commanders.
In the meantime, while Jyuuk began taking care of one of the issues that Eisen was worrying about, the old man himself continued trying to figure out the extent of damage done to the Half-Dragon Paladin’s arm by one after another touching his fingers to see if he could properly feel it, before also running his fingers along the inside of his arm, pressing down strongly in some of the more sensitive areas of the arm to see if he could properly feel the pain connected to it.
It seemed like he could at the very least feel everything, even if he had a tough time moving his fingers, but that was something that Eisen had expected. "Alright, it should heal after a little while, but try to move your fingers a few times a day, but don’t overexcert yourself until your shoulder is healed. I’ll speak to Jyuuk so that he can come and take a closer look as well." The old man explained with a smile and then stood back up, before crossing his arms and standing in front of the two Half-Dragons.
"So, after that fight, Kiron is the stronger one of you two. But there are some other things we need to speak about. First, where exactly are you from? I doubt you were born on this island." Eisen then said, and the Paladin nodded his head.
"Yes, I was not. There is a small village of us on a nearby Island which has numerous types of dragons living on it. I was born and raised there, and a few years ago, I began to travel and ended up here, becoming the Boss of this Island." He explained, and surprised, Eisen raised his eyebrows at that explanation.
"A Village of Half-Dragons?" He asked, but the Paladin quickly shook his head. "Oh, there are merely four half-dragons within that village, but we live together with a tribe of Dragonfolk and a tribe of Humans which lived on the island for hundreds of years. There are a few Dragons as well, of course, including my father and the parents of the other Half-Dragons." The Paladin explained, and with wide open eyes, Kiron looked at the Half-Dragon in front of him.
"There’s more near here..?" Kiron asked, and the Paladin slowly nodded his head. "There are, yes. The Island is not too far away from this one, but it might be tough to enter the island if you are not of dragon blood. There is a Sea Dragon which protects it from unwanted intruders. On top of that, the mindless Monsters on that island are at least at Rank 5 as well." The Half-Dragon Paladin added, before Eisen smirked in reply.
"Well, at the very least we have one of our future stops just set up for us. We’ll work on a detailed plan later, for now, I want to know if you have any attributes of a person on you, or if you are completely seen as a Monster." Eisen asked, and the Paladin scratched the back of his neck.
"Some smaller things, maybe, yes. It is easier for me to learn skills compared to the Dragonfolk or pure monsters, but that might be due to my level of self-awareness as well. I truly cannot say how far it extends." The Paladin told them, so Eisen nodded his head with a smile.
"Alright. Then we’ll just see about that. Kiron, teach him the ropes when it comes to Knighthood and take him as a Squire. Just go over the theoretical stuff for now, and when his arm recovered, train him properly." Eisen told Kiron, who raised his brows surprised.
"Is that truly a decision you can make that easily? I am not sure if he would be happy learning under me." Kiron pointed out nervously, but Eisen just smirked and pointed at the ecstatic expression of the Half-Dragon Paladin.
"I-I see... Alright, Grandfather. I will teach him what it means to be a Knight." Kiron said with a slow nod, accepting his new role, before Eisen smiled at him.
"Thank you." The old man said, before looking at the castle that they were still standing next to, before taking the small purple crystal out of the pocket in his chest.
"Do you know why this crystal was there with you?" Eisen asked the Paladin, but he just shook his head. "It was simply there. We were supposed to protect it, seemingly, although I never cared too much about a mere gem." He explained, and Eisen began to move his fingers through his beard.
"Well, it is a bit more than a mere Gem. I can show you later, but for now... Bree, where a Town Cores usually placed?" He asked the Fey-Kin standing near him, who quickly thought about it and then scratched her cheek.
"While they can’t be destroyed, they are usually still kept in a safe place. The castle is pretty large, so I think there might be a specific room for it." Bree explained, and Eisen nodded his head as he looked at the large door they were standing next to.
"Got it. Then let’s get inside there and properly look for it, huh?" Eisen said with a smile as he walked up to the large door and pushed it open, although he was not only surprised, but also confused when he saw that the interior completely changed.
"What...?" He muttered confused, so Bree quickly tuned in again, "Ah, that’s normal! That was a Boss-Room, and now that the Boss isn’t there anymore, it changed back to what it was before!" She exclaimed, so Eisen sighed and nodded his head.
"I see. Well, it was pretty weird to have the Throne-Room be the first place to enter anyway." The old man chuckled and turned around toward the different people standing near him, telling them to get into the castle and start searching for a good room for the crystal to be placed, and then made his way inside of there himself as well, his own group simply being the Originals and none of the others, not even Eisen’s monsters, because they were all searching for the room on their own.
"But really, didn’t all of that work out a little too well?" Brody asked with a wry smile, and in the end, Eisen just shrugged in response. "Maybe, but it wasn’t supposed to be hard for us in the first place. Prime Industries wants us to create a country here, after all. They wouldn’t have told us about that so soon if they didn’t think we could do it that easily." Eisen replied, so the Demon-Orc scratched the back of his neck, "I guess so. Still felt too easy, and boring." Brody added with a sigh, and even the others felt kind of weird about having finished this all so quickly, but Eisen just chuckled in response to them all.
"Don’t worry about it, everything worked out, so let’s just look for the Town-Core room and make it ’Official’."
