Chapter 534: Chapter 532 Spark Fowler
“Tanya, why have you come?”
As a significant stronghold of the Five Leaves Spear, the Green Lake Palace naturally had personnel on guard, with some members currently staying there.
The arrival of Tanya, as the ‘Acting Leader,’ was met not with welcome, but with an unmistakable air of vigilance by some.
However, upon seeing the other two individuals with her, they dared not act rashly, instead offering their greetings:
“We pay our respects to Sorcerer Marichardon, we pay our respects to Sorcerer Gerry.”
“Rise, all of you.”
…
Ivan didn’t bother with these people, and as for Gerry, she was always reluctant to say more than necessary.
“Kover, what was the meaning behind your words just now?” Tanya pressed on, staring coldly at the one who had spoken earlier. “Have you forgotten, Green Lake belongs to the Fitzgerald Family, and is still under my name?”
“Sorcerer Tanya, I didn’t mean that, I was just asking casually, just casually,” he said.
Hearing her words, the Level 3 Sorcerer named ‘Kover’ showed a slightly embarrassed expression as he hurried to explain.
Not to mention Tanya’s own status, the mere presence of the two esteemed individuals beside her was enough to deter him, but due to certain reasons, Kover felt compelled to step forward.
“Enough, I didn’t come for you. Move aside.”
Tanya saw through his intent, not allowing him to delay them.
“But, this—” Kover found himself in a difficult predicament.
“Hmph!” At that moment, Ivan let out a cold snort.
To Kover, that snort sounded like thunder, making him unconsciously step aside.
Ivan led Tanya and the others towards the interior. Everyone else quickly moved to either side, only stirring once they had gone far.
“What about it?” someone asked Kover.
“Indeed, as reputed, this one does not seem like someone who was promoted less than three months ago.”
Kover’s face turned pale, the cold snort having reached the depths of his soul; his mental ocean was disturbed and took a long while to settle.
“Should we send a message to Lord Spark?”
“I have already informed him.”
At Kover’s response, the others breathed a sigh of relief.
Whether it was Lord Spark or Sorcerer Marichardon, they could afford to offend neither nor wanted to. Since Kover was willing to take responsibility, the others were more than happy to let him.
Kover ignored them, contemplating whether he should follow. Thinking back to the deterrence he had just experienced, he remained stationary for a long time.
Shortly after, a streak of light descended from the sky onto the interior of the Green Lake Palace. Before Kover could approach, the figure headed straight to the deeper parts of the palace.
Upon witnessing this scene, Kover finally let go of the anxiety he had been holding.
Deep within the Green Lake Palace, Ivan had arrived at a Crystal Secret Palace situated underwater—a true crystal palace, carved out from a crystal as large as a mountain.
In the Crystal Secret Palace, aside from a towering Stele standing on the ground, there was nothing else.
Observing the nearly three-meter-high Stele, Ivan now understood the origin of the Five Leaves Spear emblem at the Eastern Capital Vernon Millennium Archive—it was carved in imitation of this Stele.
Carvings, in turn, seemed to possess a more divine essence, more akin to a sacred tome.
Divine objects obscure themselves, and it is no different here.
“I brought it here to the Green Lake Palace not long ago; it flew to the bottom of the lake on its own, rooted itself and transformed into this shape. Since then, no one has been able to move it. I tried many methods afterward, none effective. In the end, I had no choice but to leave it be, sealing the tome here,” Tanya explained.
“What about the Prophet’s Power noted in the Book of Enlightenment? Didn’t you obtain it from there?” Ivan couldn’t help but ask.
“Yes, but it was released automatically by the Prophet’s Treasure Tome. See this Crystal Secret Palace? It can block the Prophet’s Power, preventing it from leaking out for a short time. We only need to collect it occasionally.”
Tanaya didn’t hold back and explained the reason.
Ivan realized it.
He walked closer and carefully observed the stele.
In his vision, it seemed as though characters on the stele flickered rapidly, immersing him so deeply that he gradually forgot where he was, not to mention the passage of time.
“Ivan, much as I hate to bother you,” said Tanaya, “I have to tell you, if you don’t start doing something soon, that annoying Spark is likely to show up before too long.”
After what seemed an eternity, Tanaya couldn’t help but remind him.
Only then did Ivan reluctantly take his eyes off the stele.
Just at that moment, a figure appeared at the entrance of the Crystal Secret Palace, another young Arcane Wizard. If Ivan looked to be around twenty-five or twenty-six, this person appeared to be in his early thirties.
“Tanaya, hearing you say that, I know you’ve got me all wrong,” the newcomer greeted familiarly.
“You must have a keen nose to have sniffed your way here,” said Tanaya, her expression darkening.
“Are you Ivan Marichardon?”
Spark no longer paid her any attention and turned his gaze to Ivan, who was standing beside the stele. Seeing how close Ivan stood, Spark’s eyes flickered.
“I know you, Spark Fowler. I’ve heard quite a bit about you,” Ivan said.
“Never thought Hotter had such good taste to pull a talent like you into our Five Leaves Spear,” Spark said. “I’ve heard about you as well, and it’s finally nice to meet you.”
Both young men could be described as rising stars among the Arcane Wizards, but there was no admiration between prodigies upon meeting; rather, they seemed to take an instant dislike to one another.
Neither man made any overt display of this, yet one could sense an undercurrent of tension in their cool pleasantries.
“The Prophet’s Treasure Tome is indeed a rare treasure, of unknown origins, and not easily swayed—”
Spark moved forward, coming to stand beside the stele, and began introducing the Prophet’s Treasure Tome as if he were the master of the place.
Ivan didn’t interrupt, allowing him to continue in an unbroken flow.
“To put it bluntly, who wouldn’t want to own such a treasure? However, Tanaya tried, Gerry tried, as well as Candi and Hotter, and myself as a wizard, unfortunately, none of us won the favor of the Prophet’s Treasure Tome, you—”
Spark kept speaking.
“I get your point; it’s my turn to try now.”
Ivan finally spoke up after hearing this,
at this moment, he appeared serene, as if he held a trump card up his sleeve.
“Please, go ahead.”
Spark naturally didn’t believe he was capable, and the reason he had come rushing here was to see what method Ivan would use, and if his method could lead to some marvelous transformation.
After all, with Ivan’s reputation being so significant, what if there was something unique about his approach?
He might learn a thing or two from it.
“Then I won’t stand on ceremony.”
Ivan said with a smile. With a casual reach of his hand, he touched the stele.
In an instant, the stele underwent a light transformation and mysteriously turned into a bubble shadow, vanishing without a trace, leaving the center of the Crystal Secret Palace empty.
Spark’s face stiffened, his eyes filled with shock.
But Spark didn’t know that Ivan’s confidence came not from some special method, but because he had already sensed a strong resonance within the stele.
This object was naturally inclined towards him; by the time the opponent arrived, the Tome had already capitulated.
Rather than saying that Ivan had conquered the Prophet’s Treasure Tome, it would be more accurate to say the Prophet’s Treasure Tome had actively chosen him.
In just a couple of seconds, Spark regained his composure, his face turned ashen, and the atmosphere within the Crystal Secret Palace grew heavy.
