Sin and Virtue System

Chapter 34 34. Chaos In The Royal Academy. [1]

[Infirmary of the royal academy.]

Mia Aubry and Jin were sitting next to each other.

While Mia's assistances were guarding the room that was secured with a sound barrier.

"So? That's all?"

Mia questioned and jin frowned, without even any afterthought Jin said harshly.

"Did you wish for anything worse?"

Mia, however, did not mind his impoliteness.

She continued to sip her tea which helped to cleanse the inner impurities and enhance the natural beauty.

She did not bother answering Jin.

"So you mean, you were fooled by a lower demon, and you want to become an Elite demon hunter? What kind of ironic dream is this?"

"..."

Jin lowered his head and bit his lower lip.

He had lost count of the number of bad things that happened to him lately.

First Lisa, then Thomas, then all his team, and then...?

'Wait... am I forgetting something?'

He started recalling the events,

The envy he felt for Kevin, the arrival at the eerie forest, the ominous feeling, the low-level demon, and then the fight at the dungeon..?

Suddenly, the picture of a long and beautiful pink-haired girl floated inside his mind, only to make him stand up in a panic.

He had completely forgotten Anna.

"Hm?"

Mia raised her brow at Jin's sudden actions,

"Have you forgotten something?"

"I-i!"

Before Jin could answer,

"Lisaaaaaaaaaa!"

They heard Thomas' roaring voice.

"It's not your father's funeral to shout like that! Bastard!"

Followed by Mia's curse,

"Thomas!"

Jin ran out of the cabin to meet Thomas without answering Mia,

'This is why I hate Kids!'

Mia glanced at Jin's back and she also got out of her cabin.

...

[Alice's Cabin]

Knock* Knock* Knock*

Mia especially knocked three times and entered the room without any response from the other side.

"You should at least wait for my response, you know?"

Mia heard an alluring voice as she entered Alice's cabin.

"How have you been Alice?"

While yawning, Mia walked and casually sat on the sofa near Alice's chair.

Without waiting for Alice's response she continued,

"So will you tell me? Or should I spill the beans myself?"

She picked up something which looked like a magazine and asked while going through the magazine.

'Mia Abury, the goddess of Alchemy...'

She threw the magazine as soon as she saw the magazine's front page name and picture of herself printed like a goddess.

'Cringe!'

She felt like puking the moment the thoughts of people worshiping her came to her mind.

'Pfttt, serves you right, bitch!'

Alice who saw the variations in Mia's expressions couldn't help but laugh inwardly while making a straight face.

"Ahem!"

She caught Mia's attention by coughing once,

"What were you saying earlier?"

Controlling her laughter, she asked.

"Tsk, don't even bother to hide from me."

Folding her arms and crossing her legs, Mia looked at Alice with cold eyes.

"..."

Alice pushed her chair and put her back in Mia's front.

"I don't know what you are talking about."

She still played ignorantly.

"Haaaaa.... how many this time?"

"More than last time..."

To Mia's question, Alice answered nonchalantly.

"There are 5 divisions with 200 students each, and 4 such years with 5 divisions each, so how much of my workload will be reduced this time?"

"I would've loved it if all of those thousand students had made it till the fourth year..."

Alice, although had her back to Mia's front, anyone who heard her voice would've understood the solemnness in her voice.

"Stop with that shit and tell me the number. How many this time?"

"There is still a week before the deadline, however, only a hundred students have reported their return. Estimate deaths are... more than half."

While taking a deep breath, Mia placed her hand on her heart,

'May the mother save those poor souls.'

She wished for the good afterlife of every death and looked at Alice, who was looking at the sky outside from the window behind her chair.

"And?"

Mia asked as Alice turned silent after the first news.

"Adelio."

Alice answered,

"Haaaaa... he was a good person."

Mia felt a slight pain in her heart as the news of the death of her childhood friend hurt her, just a little.

Once again praying for his peaceful afterlife, she glanced at Alice and got up to leave.

"Just so you know, a student named Jin and his friend Thomas have returned with a lot of trauma, I have kept the boy for interrogation, now that Adelio is clear, these two are the prime targets. I will keep an eye on them"

Bang-

Mia walked out of the cabin and closed the door with a bang.

"Thanks... and bitch! I told you to leave those doors... They close automatically you know?"

Alice cursed out aloud but did not turn around.

Ting! Ting! Ting!

She heard a device ringing and turned around.

'Tsk, it's time huh?'

She looked at the device that made the ring not long ago.

'And so it begins,

The chaos in the Royal Academy.'

...

Tap- Tap- Tap-

Mia walked out of Alice's Cabin, each step filled with elegance and grace.

Anyone who saw her lowered their head and waited for her to walk while making a way for her.

'Lowly beings.'

She continued walking while looking down at everyone in her way.

Elves who were known for their arrogance were also no exception to this.

Their pride, dignity, and authority were placed on equal terms in the treaty made by all races. And they had to lower their heads in front of her.

Bang-

Closing the door of her room, Mia went inside.

"haaa..."

Taking a deep breath, she walked near the mirror and looked at her figure.

'Tsk, no one is better than me, I am just that great.'

Adelio's death, Jin and Thomas' trauma, and the deaths of students.

She forgot everything and continued to stare at her figure with lustful eyes.

She loved no one, except for herself.

This was the true Mia.

The self-centered woman, with an ego that of a planet.

There was someone out there who was going to break her, but that was a story for another time.

...

[Somewhere near a water stream.]

Guided by Michael's directions, Kevin arrived at a secluded place to have a bath and remove all the blood from his body.

<Kevin, you need to know this.>

Saying this Michael sent some information to Kevin's mind.

"Huh?"

Kevin felt a warm light enter his subconscious and he looked at the new information.

"A mission? What is that?"

Kevin felt overwhelmed by the information.

<Mission Information:???>

There was no information about the information in particular.

<Mission is a chance, Kevin.>

Michael answered in a somewhat excited voice.

"What chance?"

Splash-

Kevin, who had previously stopped washing his body, continued.

<There are categories in the system to get rewards and you are allowed to complete daily tasks, quests, and missions.>

Kevin listened to Michael's explanation with all of his attention.

<Daily tasks are easy, while normal quests have medium difficulty and normal penalty, however, the missions are different. Missions have a great reward but so is the penalty.>

"What penalty?"

<That is ...!>

Buzzz-

'Ugh!'

Kevin heard a buzzing sound and the information previously arrived got removed from his mind...

<Confidential information accessed... Michael will be penalized.>

'What was that, Michael?'

<Nothing.>

Kevin did not understand why he felt like that, but he felt like someone tampered with his memory.

He had known something important but that was taken away as soon as it was given

<Kevin, there is bad news...>

Michael's previously excited voice was gone and replaced by a nonchalant voice.

"What is it?"

<The royal academy...>

"What about it? Don't take too long and just spill it."

<More than half of the second-year students had died...>

Thud-

Kevin's heart started beating faster, his blood boiled and, he felt a pang in his heart.

"H... how?"

Collecting all of his remaining courage, Kevin asked.

<... Michael has his sources... But the information states that most of the students died because of the demon strongholds.>

Another shock appeared on Kevin's face.

What was happening? Why wasn't Michael telling him more than required?

He didn't question Michael because he trusted Michael.

However, this was the first time after the massacre in his hometown that he felt something like this.

First abandoning his peers, then running away from a demon, and now the news.

It all came falling, so much so that his brain stopped working.

Kevin laid down and looked at the sky with hollow eyes.

<There is something more...>

Michael, however, did not stop there.

<Your teacher... Adelio Rollen's life slip has been found broken. He died.>

"..."

Kevin did not reply. Maybe he didn't hear that right? But he didn't pardon Michael.

It was just another piece of news to him.

But...

Drip- Drip- Drip-

But his eyes did not lie.

Faces of Andrew, his beloved, his peers, and now Adelio, his favorite teacher.

"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!"

Kevin shouted with his all might.

It was a cry filled with pain.

Extreme pain and exhaustion.

It was a cry to reminisce over the deaths for the last time.

'I don't want this to happen! Why!? Why!? Why!? No, no, no, no! I want to change this! Aghhhhhhhhhh!'

Kevin kept shouting.

<Kevin... If you want to change this then get stronger.>

"..."

<Strong enough to change everything...>

"..."

<Past... Present... and the Future.>

Michael stopped and let Kevin cry.

<This is what... the beginning of the chaos is like.>

<Michael's penalty has been initiated.>
