In front of the building entrance, a middle-aged man who appeared to be a mix of Asian and western was waiting for Arthur and Amanda.
He was surrounded by quite a few people in addition to looking very authoritative.
Despite never directly seeking information about him, Arthur still knew who he was.
Liem, the Director of NASDAQ who is also often called the NASDAQ Boss.
Arthur saw him on TV quite often when news about the stock world appeared.
"Welcome, Mr. Arthur, Lady Amanda," he said, saying Arthur's name first.
Perhaps he had learned about Arthur first.
Of course, here, any business would be Amanda's business, so she returned the greeting.
"Mr. Liem, long time no see, you seem to be brighter than the last time I saw you, is this the effect of being married?" she said with a faint smile.
"Maybe," the middle-aged man replied. "What's certain is that I'm very happy these days because the stock market is going to have another wonderful product."
"Hahaha, the world is always full of innovation. Our coffee did manage to suppress the other coffees, but I'm sure there will be new coffees that can compete soon." Amanda laughed.
The coffee made by Arthur was on another level, but Amanda didn't want to say that it was unbeatable. It wasn't that she didn't think that way, but she didn't want to discourage others, after all, there were so many people in the packaged coffee business.
"I'm afraid that won't happen anytime soon." Liem shook his head. "By the way, compared to me, you look much brighter, surely it's because your nights after having a boyfriend are so much fun, right?"
He changed the topic, teasing Amanda.
Many looked at her strangely after hearing that then looked at Arthur curiously.
The rather young men wondered what good he had done that he could enjoy an evening with a woman as beautiful as Amanda.
Although they knew he had abilities, they felt that they were still lacking compared to Amanda's beautiful figure.
Amanda just chuckled without saying anything. As a woman, it was not suitable for her to talk excessively about this.
She glanced at her watch before saying, "Mr. Liem, it might be time for us to go inside, the market will open in 20 minutes."
Hearing that, Liem quickly looked at his watch before laughing. "Hahaha, right, I almost forgot, come, come, please come in," he said, inviting Arthur and Amanda inside.
What was inside the building was a spacious room with a large screen at the end and many LCDs everywhere.
Each of them displayed stock price charts of various companies.
There were also several reporters conducting interviews. They were elite reporters who were allowed in to live-stream the inside of the building.
When he got there, Arthur immediately saw Rebecca in a certain corner, chatting with three middle-aged men who each looked like a big boss.
They kept smiling kindly at her, obviously having a huge crush on her, but too afraid to flirt with her in an over-the-top way.
In Europe, some people might dare to flirt excessively with Isabel before she became a minister, but here, people needed to be careful because of Rebecca's background.
The woman quickly discovered Arthur and Amanda's arrival.
Her originally flat expression suddenly smiled in a charming way when she saw Arthur.
However, she made no move to approach him directly as they were approached by quite a few large investors who seemed to be investing into the coffee company.
They were the ones who made the development of the coffee business easy in other regions.
When they want to talk, Amanda needs to respond.
Actually, their conversation was only about one topic, their complaints about getting very few shares while they spent a lot of money.
To such complaints, Amanda responded by insisting that they would still get a lot of profit. She confidently said that their investment returns would increase several times over.
Some of them wanted to talk to Arthur, even going so far as to say that they were Isabel's friends.
However, no matter who they were, Arthur still responded in a flat manner, making it awkward for people to talk to him.
After some time, Amanda pulled Arthur to a certain corner to avoid the people.
There would also be a good place for them to watch the IPO later.
ραndαsnοvεl.cοm By the time they were alone, Amanda finally started talking about stocks to Arthur.
"The initial price will be 50 dollars a share. With all the shares, that means the capitalization of the coffee company is about 60 billion dollars," she said.
"Of that, you own at least about 40 billion dollars. Later, if the stock price increases several times, it's possible to own several hundred billion dollars, becoming the richest individual outright."
"Aren't those just numbers?" replied Arthur without much reaction.
"Most people value numbers like that more," Amanda replied.
"Yeah, and it's numbers like that that allow me to print new money." Suddenly a woman responded in a charming way, slightly surprising Amanda.
She quickly looked to the side only to find that Rebecca was approaching them.
However, in contrast to when she had talked about her in that restaurant, she was actually rather wary when she saw her.
Indeed, she idolized her, but she knew that there was animosity between them because Rebecca represented one of the elite families in the country.
Even so, she still tried to smile at hrr.
"Mrs. Rebecca, how are you?" She greeted her in a soft tone.
Seeing Rebecca's smile, she couldn't help but wonder what that smile meant.
Was it a smile of pure friendliness? Or a smile for the enemy she was targeting?
"It's a nice day," Rebecca replied then looked at Arthur's face.
"Of course, it's especially exciting because I get to meet my true love again in such a short time since we parted," she added, making Amanda open up while her face froze.
"What?" she said spontaneously.
"It's like he didn't tell you anything?" Rebecca looked at Amanda again when she saw her reaction.
"Yeah, he's always been like this, rarely speaks," she added.
"How did that happen?" Amanda hurriedly asked, glancing at Arthur as if she wanted to glare at him.
"It all happened in a natural way since our meeting in Paris," Rebecca replied, making up a story but she seemed very honest as if she herself believed the story.
"Even though there was a generation difference between us, we were perfect for each other," she continued, "and eventually like that, we became lovers. I must admit that he completely conquered my heart, to the point that I no longer cared about my family, and chose to help him instead."
Amanda, "..."
Slowly, Amanda's breathing began to become ragged, as if her face had just been slapped.
Such a story made her heart hot that she forgot that she had told Arthur that she would not be jealous if Arthur could conquer Rebecca.
It had already happened before she said that.
Of course, in the end, she still remembered what she had said, something that made her awkward.
"Miss Amanda, it's fine, isn't it, if you lend him to me tonight? Honestly, the days in Paris are too short," Rebecca said to Amanda so her breathing became faster.
"We might go home early," she replied, instantly changing plans.
Actually, she also had a hard time seeing the romantic relationship between Arthur and Rebecca who were basically the same age as their own parents.
Rebecca didn't look disappointed by Amanda's words. Instead, she looked at Arthur with eyes that seemed to hide a hidden meaning. It was like an invitation, an invitation that was hard to refuse because of how attractive she was.
However, Arthur chose not to respond.
His eyes were more often staring at the large screen in front of him.
At this moment, Liem suddenly came over to them.
He seemed a little surprised that Rebecca joined Arthur and Amanda.
Of course, it made him quite happy.
"Lady Amanda, it's about to start, people want you and Mr. Arthur to push the IPO button," Liem told them.
Hearing that, Amanda couldn't help but stare at Arthur.
"Dear, what do you think, do you want to press the button?" she asked him.
That of course was immediately rejected by Arthur because the one who pressed the button would appear on tv.
He shook his head.
"What if you do it yourself?" Rebecca said to Amanda.
It seemed like a suggestion, but to Amanda's ears it sounded like she wanted to tell her to get out of Arthur's side so they could be alone.
Her words were supported by Liem as it would be strange for an IPO to not involve the main characters of the company.
Liem understood that Arthur didn't like being exposed, so he was expecting Amanda.
The latter understood that well. This was also important for the stock price.
In the end, she chose to relent and nodded while saying, "alright!"
After that, she went to the stage in front of the big screen with Liem, leaving Arthur and Rebecca behind.
Occasionally, she still glanced at Arthur to keep an eye on him.
