Chapter 1685: A Baby Is Born

—–

“Aaaah! I can’t believe it’s coming right now?!”

“Hang in there!”

“Oh my, let me help!”

Aquarina slowly opened her eyes, while hearing the scream of someone.

She groaned, slowly moving around her bed.

But then.

“Aaaaggh!”

She could swear that was her mother’s voice in agony!

“Huh? M-Mom?!”

She jumped out of the bed and ran out of her room barefooted, while wearing her semi-translucent white colored night dress.

As she ran outside to look, she found the door where her parents slept open.

For a moment she thought they were having sex again…

However that wasn’t the case, as her mother kept screaming.

“Uuuggh! Aaahh! I-it’s coming out- The head! Please grab it gently!”

“I-I’m doing my best!”

“Let me help with my magic as well! {Aqua Ring}! {Calming Water}! {Soothing Spring Rain}!”

She saw several auras of blue color come from the room, as she heard Agua’s mother conjuring spells one after another.

“Aquarina? What’s going on?”

Silvia walked out of her room looking half-asleep, and Justicio and Agua joined them.

“Who’s screaming at this hour?” Justicio asked.

“Um, was that my mother’s magic?” Agua wondered.

Pyuku, Leviathan, and Undine summoned themselves out of her Soulscape as well, looking rather worried.

“I think Aquarina’s mom is giving birth…” Said Pyuku with an expressionless face. “Were you guys not aware of her pregnancy? It was pretty obvious she had a bigger belly than usual.”

“E-Eeeeh?!” Silvia gasped.

“Wait, they’re giving birth?! We better not annoy them then…!” Justicio muttered.

“My mom is there, she oversees the birth of babies from the village all the time, so she’s the best medic we got,” Agua smiled. “Don’t worry about anything, Aquarina, mom will handle it like a professional.”

“T-That’s a relief Agua, I guess I should just wait and-“

“AAAGGH! DAMMIT! GET OUT ALREADY, MY CHILD!”

Her mother’s screams didn’t help though, especially for how rough the woman was at her words too!

Usually most women from other tribes would be crying and screaming, but her mother’s cries were more like war cries or roars of anger.

She was literally battling her child at that moment!

And this wasn’t exactly rare, Amazonian children were born with much larger bodies than other human tribes.

Hence, the women went through a lot of pain and effort to get them out.

Although after they have children once or twice, the pain diminishes a lot.

However, that didn’t seem to be the case for Nepheline.

Most likely, the child was born larger than usual, or a bit more developed!

“Mom…”

Aquarina didn’t want to watch, so she remained with her friends as she hoped everything would be alright.

“NNGGHH! T-THERE!”

PLOP!

Until she heard a rather loud sound, of something coming out of something else…

“Uwaaaah! Awaaaahh!”

And the cries of a newborn baby.

“Ah!”

Aquarina’s eyes widened, for a moment, she felt strange.

She had lived her entire life as a single child, unlike Sylphy.

To her, being the only and spoiled daughter was just how things always were.

Though, many times, she wondered what it felt to have a sibling.

As she heard that baby’s cries she realized.

“My sibling…”

The feeling of having another little baby was just as important as she was to her parents at her side, someone that shared their love.

Aquarina didn’t felt jealous or anything like that though but… It was indeed quite impactful to her.

“The head is completely out, the rest of the body is quite chubby but… there, let’s slowly take them out…!”

“Y-Yes!”

The voice of her worried, tired father echoed, as Aguarapida and Shade slowly helped the child come out completely.

“Haaahh… Haaahhh… Phew! My baby… Please give them to me…”

And Aquarina heard her mother sighing in relief.

It was surprisingly fast, usually these things last hours, but this time, thanks to magic and the willpower of Nepheline, it only took around half an hour.

“Aquarina? I think the baby’s born…” Agua said. “A-Are you ok?”

“E-Eh? Ah, yeah…” Aquarina nodded. “I just am… processing it. I guess I’m really a big sister now… Is this how Sylphy feels like?”

“You’ll never know until you go see the baby first though,” Justicio said.

“Yeah! Go!” Silvia nodded.

“Eh? You guys aren’t coming?” Aquarina wondered.

“O-Of course we aren’t! This is a personal thing from your family…” Justicio sighed.

“Go ahead! Don’t worry!” Silvia nodded.

“A-Alright, yeah…” Aquarina slowly walked towards the room, the door was open.

The baby had only cried a little before it fell completely silent for some reason.

Aquarina grew worried, what if something happened to the child?

She ran there, to see what was happening.

“M-Mom!”

As she entered the room, she saw her mother peacefully breastfeeding a beautiful baby in her big arms.

Her father was right by her side, cleaning her with magic while Agualinda healed her exhaustion.

Aquarina looked at the child all shocked for a moment.

Their appearance was adorable.

And the child looked a lot like her as well.

The baby had brown skin like her, although it was much darker than her own, slightly darker than her own mother.

She remembered her mom once told her that her parents had very dark skin, almost like charcoal.

And usually, the darker the skin an Amazonian Child, the larger the Mana concentration they were born with.

Meaning, this baby had great magical talent.

Another thing Aquarina noticed was their short, silvery-white hair, the same color as hers and her father.

And the baby also had big, bright green eyes, like her mom.

The baby was calmly and soothingly drinking milk, while looking at their mother lovingly.

“A-Aquarina, dear… Look, this is your sister.” Nepheline smiled, as she presented the baby to Aquarina.

“S-Sister?! I thought it would be a boy but… it’s another girl?!” Aquarina was even more surprised.

“Why did you think it would be a boy? Haha,” laughed Nepheline. “Just because Faylen had a son after her daughter doesn’t mean it would be the same with me!”

“A-Ah… I-I know, sorry, I just… Am processing it, so I have a little sister now?” Aquarina wondered.

“Indeed,” Shade nodded. “Come here, don’t you want to see her up close?”

“I-I do…”

Aquarina slowly walked towards her sister and as she extended her hands towards her…

“A-Ah!”

The baby gently grabbed her finger with her little hand…
