Reincarnated With A Glitched System: Why Is My MP Not Running Out?
Chapter 1649 1649: What Does She Know?—–
The Great Oasis thought about it for quite a few minutes, but ultimately agreed with the request.
Of course, not without something in return.
“Very well.”
“R-Really?!” Agua gasped. “T-Thank you so much great Oasis Spirit!”
“Of course, not without a proper trial, you must prove yourself and your friend as fitting to carry on the blessing I’ve given you. I am a Great Spirit, an evolved form of a Spirit. I am the closest to ascending into a Divine Spirit. The existence of a Priestess and the Oasis Village is what has helped me progress this far.”
Agua and Aquarina nodded, as they heard her attentively. They imagined she would request something very difficult that Agua would have to do on her own, so they were nervous.
And yet…
“Therefore, you must undergo a small trial to prove you’re capable enough. You must destroy the four Giant Fire Ant Nests in this jungle and offer me most of their Mana Cores.”
“Huh?”
“You can also receive the help of your friends, as long as you slay half of the ants yourself.”
“R-Really?”
“Yes, is it too hard? It has to, or the trial won’t be enough to make you learn and improve, Agua.”
“N-No, it is alright, thank you… I’ll do my best!”
“Is that so? I see you’ve become more open and also more expressive… I saw you growing up since you were but a little baby. I am glad your friends have helped you improve.”
“A-Ah, thank you so much for your kind words, I truly don’t deserve them…”
Aquarina was smiling although she didn’t say a word, this was exactly what she was going to do anyway, so the trial ended being a complete easy victory for her.
She thought she was going to have troubles asking her mother to let her kill all the damn ants, but it seemed that as it was a mission, it wasn’t going to be an issue anymore.
And the requirement of Agua needing to kill at least half of them? Easy! She can just weaken the ants and Agua can slay them, or better, she can infuse her powers into her and greatly improve her water magic even further.
“Is there any specific rule on how she has to kill the ants?” Aquarina asked out of curiosity.
“No, as long as she kills them. I know you will help her, but I also know she needs to grow stronger… Killing all these powerful monsters will strengthen her physique. I am not going to say you should do this, but also helping her refine a new physique would be ideal, she already has all the requirements for physique evolution through a ritual.”
“I-Is that so?” Agua was surprised. “T-That’s so amazing, thank you so much!”
The Great Oasis Spirit smiled gently, caressing Agua’s head.
Aquarina and her parents were surprised at how gentle she actually was.
They had thought that it would be some sort of fallen god or something, or a minor goddess.
But she was actually a Spirit born in this world according to what she said, and the village here had been helping her, while she also helps them.
“There’s another question my parents wanted to ask about…” Aquarina said.
“Ah right, about the dungeon…” the chief nodded.
“The Dungeon? We’ve talked about it already, what else do you need to know?”
“Can my parent’s step on and talk?” Asked Aquarina.
“Your parents? They are- Ah!”
Her eyes widened, as the Oasis Spirit took a step back.
The enormous Aura of Aquarina’s parents was so far greater than hers that her entire body trembled lightly.
Even though they weren’t even being hostile at all.
“S-Such power…! T-They’re humans?! Since when have humans been able to gain this level of strength?”
“M-Mother of the Oasis?”
“Ah! Hmm… Ahem…”
The Oasis Spirit calmed down, closing her eyes and then opening them again, glancing at Aquarina’s parents while trying to not act embarrassingly again.
“My apologies, I was simply very shocked about their power… It is not ordinary at all to see this level of power from mortals. So I was… naturally amazed. My apologies.”
“It’s fine…” Aquarina said. “You don’t need to apologize.”
“S-She’s apologizing?” Agua wondered.
“Great Spirit…” the chief was amazed.
Without realizing it, the chief felt like she had brought over two monsters into this village, monsters that even their strongest and greatest protector was afraid of.
It wasn’t because they were evil or something, no, it was because they simply held such a high level of power that even she was terrified.
“Don’t worry, we might hold great power, but we cannot possibly do what you can, Great Spirit of the Oasis,” Nepheline said with a gentle smile. “As you could’ve guessed, we are heroes.”
“We were chosen a while ago, and since then we’ve trained endlessly, cultivated, and gone through many trials and life and death situations…” Shade said. “Through our journey across the Demon Continent is where we became the strongest. The miasma of the environment and the foes we had to battle were all on another level. We either adapted or died.”
“So you are the previous generation of heroes that slain the demon king? I see…”
The spirit sighed, looking rather sad.
“Were you forced to do that?”
“Yes…” Nepheline nodded.
“We realized too late that we were puppets to the Church of the Gods,” Shade said.
“…”
The Spirit remained in silence; she couldn’t quite blame them for that either way.
“So what is your question? I will answer a few…”
At the end, she decided to act friendly.
“That dungeon, we were able to find something, an underground city bustling with ancient people known as Molluskians,” explained Shade. “They had a king and seemed to be hundreds of thousands of them gathered in a beautiful city. They had great magic power and spiritual affinity.”
“Ancient City?! Molluskians?!”
The Spirit immediately gasped; she seemed to know who they were!
“So you know…” Shade nodded. “Then do you also know who their King is? And why do they claim to have come from the past through Time Magic and a Rainbow Shell that carries “Prime Magic” as they said?”
“T-This is…”
The Spirit looked confused, nervous, and shocked at the same time; her hands were trembling.
The Oasis People had never seen her act this way before!
And Khepri was looking at her from afar, she looked confused, as if trying to remember something.
“Uuuh… Her face reminds me of someone… I am sure I’ve… I’ve seen her before. But where?”
