At the end, because of Aquarina’s insistence, they ended moving towards the nearest Giant Fire Ant nest, which emerged as a huge spire made of hard red colored mud in the middle of a more deserted area, the surrounding plants were all burned to a crisp, and the ground seemed to be also burned and covered with ashes, these ants burned anything to make their way through.

“What the hell happened here? Everything’s burned…” Silvia said. “Did those ants do that?”

“Yeah, most likely… I mean they’re Fire Ants right?” Justicio wondered.

“Hmm…” Aquarina nodded, looking around. “Do they have to burn everything though?”

“The Giant Fire Ants use the ashes of what they burn to build their nest,” explained Agua. “They require a certain level of heat, or they grow weaker, so their nests are always very warm… They lack a lot of fresh air too, entering without special protection will burn your lungs in just a few seconds. This is one of the reasons we’ve been struggling to deal with them properly.”

“So that’s it…” Silvia said. “Hmm, well, what do we do then?”

“Maybe we could call it quits?” Justicio asked. “It’s too impossible if we’ll suffocate inside and-“

“Well! Isn’t Water the best counter against Fire? This’ll be a piece of cake for me. If you guys don’t want to fight you don’t have to bother, I’ll get it done in a few minutes.”

Aquarina walked forward as she amassed her Mana and the energies of her Spirits into her hands, gathering them into a blue sphere.

“W-What is she doing?” Wondered Silvia.

“Wait, are you seriously doing it all on your own?!” Justicio asked.

“Ah, there she goes again…” Pyuku giggled.

“Damn ants, you think I’m going to walk into your death trap! Why don’t you come out yourselves?! Or drown and freeze to death, it’s all the same for me!”

With a ferocious roar, Aquarina unleashed a huge magic circle she built to empower her spell, as she combined all her strongest elements together.

Water and Ice!

“{Freezing Spirit Tsunami Punch}!”

The water and ice gathered around her right fist as she swung it forward, unleashing a massive quantity of water inside the nest’s entrance, which was unguarded for the moment.

SPLAAAASH!

RUMBLE!

The entire surroundings trembled as a massive quantity of cold water entered the Fire Ants Nest, the interior being immediately flooded to the end, the ants began to rapidly escape by droves, most of them looking weakened and slow.

“T-They came out!” Silvia screamed. “Uwaaagh!”

“No way! Agh!” Justicio screamed as well as he was swarmed by giant ants, each one roughly two meters of height. “Aquarina, you dumbass!”

“Come on! They’re weakened and freezing! Kill them quickly!” Aquarina roared. “Come at me fuckers!”

She began swinging her fists, using the same technique over and over again, she resembled a beast, punching the ants away with huge explosions of ice and water, most of them either froze and exploded, or drowned to death.

SPLASH! SPLASH! SPLASH!

Because they were fire elemental monsters, being deprived of their heat made them much weaker, and to the point they became incredibly sluggish and anemic. Even Silvia and Justicio, who were reluctant about hunting some ants, quickly began working because of how easy it seemed.

“Agh, whatever!” Silvia finally moved her lazy ass, summoning her Soul Weapon and swinging it down, quickly crushing the ants one after another.

BAAM! BAAM! BAAM! BAAM!

As the ants exploded into pieces, unable to counterattack with their flames as their bodies were soaked and cold, Silvia easily kicked them way, fired sunshine beam lasers at them, and more.

“Hey this is surprisingly easier than I imagined! Huh? And I feel a bit stronger…”

“Well, isn’t it obvious? To prepare for the inheritance you have to get stronger! Fighting and defeating monsters will make your physiques grow, use magic along the way and your magic circle will also develop,” Aquarina explained. “It’s basic stuff Silvia, don’t be lazy!”

“Hey I am not lazy!” Silvia complained, running around and swinging her hammer, as Justicio joined in, bringing out his axe.

“Okay then, time to do this!”

Without using his insectoid armor as he found it was unnecessary; he began chopping down the ants one after another. They were desperate and had lost their sense of direction, so they attacked anything in front of them with their sharp claws and even sharper pincers.

However, despite how big they were, most of them were between Tier 4 to 5, and Justicio’s Physique was Tier 7, he was literally immune to their physical damage, letting them bite his skin only made him get tickles.

“Hahah, well this is easier than I imagined, yeah!”

SLASH! SLASH! SLASH! SLASH!

With his giant axe, he slashed can cleaved dozens of ants at once, their bodies flying away into chopped apart pieces while their innards splattered into the floor.

Agua was a bit surprised, but she wasn’t scared, staying calm, she decided to help them out by conjuring several spells at once.

“Let me help you drown them, Aquarina!”

“{Sapphire Cannon}!”

She quickly swung her staff, eight magic circles manifested, spinning around and then firing eight cannons of concentrated cold water into the entire nest, filling its depths and making more and more ants come out screeching in horror.

SPLASH! SPLASH! SPLASH! SPLASH!

As this happened, Pyuku decided to start moving after only watching for a little while, he splashed forward, turning into a mass of blue slime and firing beams of blue psychic energy from several eyes he created out of tentacles from his shapeless form.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The beams were precise and deadly, blowing up the ants once they pierced through their exoskeleton. This was concentrated psychic energy alongside mana, a combination his ancestors wouldn’t had been able to do as they lacked magic power.

Aquarina at the same time infused her body with Leviathan’s Ice Dragon Scale Armor, covering her hands and feet with icy constructions made of ice magic, each of her punches and kicks released a wave of cold, paralyzing several ants at once, and once frozen, shattering them into pieces.

CRASH! CRASH! CRASH! CRASH!

She saw the EXP bar continuously fill up, as she began leveling over time, the ants were hundreds, so they were a large and generous amount of EXP!

“And there’s more nests like these in here? I guess it’s time for some pest extermination!”
