Chapter 600 - Beast Core
Because Kana's mind was completely concentrating on the balls of light and trying to get them to enter her body, when the information from the old man popped into her head, she had thought it was just an idea that suddenly came to her. "So like this…"
The idea was simple yet hard. She had to not think of her body as a solid state. This was her first mistake. In truth, since the body was made of many cells, it was actually not sold in a sense. Although her memories of her scientific world begged to differ as something solid was when a material had substance and could restrict objects. The body itself was slightly different as it was mostly made of water. Her entire body besides her bones, was more of a solid liquid state and could allow things to pass through if she changed her way of thinking and followed the mantra that appeared in her mind. Of course, Kana did not even question why she knew such things. She just felt maybe it was part of how this world worked when you figured things out.
With this new information and understanding, Kana quickly did as the information said. Soon she saw the balls of lights excitedly entering her body. These lights sunk into her skin, muscles, organs, everything. In the middle of her chest near her heart, a small core began to form as well, as the balls of light began to collect and compress against each other. The whole feeling was warm and relaxing. Kana felt no pain at all.
While Kana was in a trance, outside her mind's eye, a strange occurrence was happening in the outside world. Kana's body was glowing with a white light as swirls of spiritual qi wrapped around her body. The amount of spiritual qi was so thick that not even the waterfall was raining down on Kana's body anymore.
This condensing of spiritual qi was so intense that the peak powers of the Academy all took notice of it. "Sect Master, you are here."
"Elder Ning, what is going on?" The Sect Master asked.
"This is the little girl I was talking about. She has only just reached the body fortification stage and is already causing a scene." Elder Ning said with a smile.
The Sect Master, Hou Jiahao, stroked his long white beard as he looked at the little girl. "Mmm… She is indeed a talent. Let's hope she can keep this up by the time the next entrance test comes next year. Until then, I will allow you to use extra resources in nurturing her. Keep her on the right path. Such a talent should be nurtured."
"Haha, it's good you put up a barrier around this area, Elder Ning; otherwise, the other sects might have taken notice of her. If she can grow quickly she may even be able to represent us in the dragon festival and wipe the floor with those heaven's chosen from the other sects." Another old man said while letting out a jolly laugh. He was called Elder Tao.
"She is a talent, that is for sure. I wonder if she would be interested in learning alchemy… I can teach her how to refine pills…" Elder Fang, a beautiful middle aged woman, said as she gazed at Kana with shining eyes.
"Hmph! She will come to learn armaments under me!" Elder Fen said with a snort. He would not let the others upstage him when there was such a good pupil coming into the sect next year. None of them ever considered whether or not Kana could even pass the entrance test. They just wanted to begin teaching her their skills.
"Hahaha!" The Sect Master looked at the elders with a bright smile. He had not seen them this riled up in a while. "Why don't you each take a day and teach her what you know during this next year so when she does enter, we will have her way above the other disciples. But she will still only be an outer disciple until she is in the foundation establishment realm…"
"We will do as Sect Master says…" All the elders present said before quickly making plans on who will teach her what.
As time passed, Kana's deep cultivative state suddenly began to break. But this was not without any progress. As three days had passed, Kana had broken through to the second stage of body fortification. On top of that, she had created a small beast core near her heart that was slowly pulling spiritual qi into her body.
As she was not human, she was able to form a beast core on top of having a dantian. This meant she had actually opened the door to demonic beast cultivation without realizing it. Her actual cultivation realm could be considered to be a qi gathering realm first stage cultivator as a rank one demonic beast was on par with a qi gathering realm cultivator. When you add in her second stage body fortification realm, it would boost cultivation up by one stage.
This, of course, was not something one could tell at first glance unless they were of a higher level. The elders and sect masters standing in the sky all had big smiles on their faces as if a treasure had been born. "Sect Master, I think our sect will have a guiding light into the other continents soon."
"Mmm… We must make sure no one instances her from us before she is able to join our sect. While I would like to make an exception and allow her to join our sect now without the need for testing, our traditions run deep since the time Moon Crest Academy was first established by our founder. I will not break those traditions now. But that does not mean we can not nurture a talent on the outside. I will be counting on all of you."
"Yes, Sect Master!"
Kana's true path of cultivation had truly started… With the addition to her newly formed beast core that slowly drew in spiritual qi automatically and her human cultivation she was set on a path to obtain greatness.
