“Do we really not need to worry about those three anymore?”

Huang Yunxiang was still concerned about the three young people, having just left them by the roadside, not knowing if they would encounter zombies.

“Rest assured, they won’t die,”

Su Jin said with a smile. Two Level Two Ability Users and one Level Three Special Ability User wouldn’t be easily taken down by zombies.

The cage was large, but it was now surrounded by zombies. The four of them dared only stay in the very center of the cage, fearing that getting any closer to the edges would result in being grabbed by the hands that were squeezing through the bars and torn apart.

“Why did they lock us up in here?”

A man drenched in sweat could not help but shout.

“To attract, attract zombies?”

A woman, pale as death, sat in the cage. Her face, arms, and legs had several bloody cuts, and the blood dripping to the floor made the zombies outside even more excited.

Ignoring the wounds on her body, the woman clenched her fists, which trembled slightly. Those people better pray she doesn’t see them alive again, otherwise she would make them pay in blood for this debt!

“Kang Ning, you’re wasting your effort. You can’t use your Earth Element Ability here,”

Another man said despondently.

“Damn it!” Another woman, named Kang Ning, tried several times but ultimately gave up.

The zombies, drawn by the sound and the scent of the living, slowly gathered around.

Someone in a military truck behind the young man yelled.

Heeding the call, the young man wearing the uniform ran in the opposite direction of the truck, still holding the loudspeaker.

At first, he didn’t run very fast, as if he was intentionally waiting for the zombies to follow him. Seeing the zombies start to chase after him, his speed suddenly increased a lot!

“He’s a Speed Element Ability User,”

Kang Ning concluded.

“Could it be that someone is coming to rescue us?”

The man, drenched in sweat, seemed incredulous, but everyone could hear the joy in his voice.

Even though the recent zombie had been drawn away by that Speed Element Ability User, there were still many zombies surrounding the outside of the cage.

Under the dim grey sky, the four of them seemed to see a lightning bolt cutting across the sky, striking the zombie horde outside the cage.

A buzz of electricity followed, and the zombies outside the cage seemed to be electrified, falling back in unison!

“Is someone really coming to rescue us?”

The woman covered in blood couldn’t help but stand up and exclaim.

“Let’s not celebrate too early, everyone. Don’t forget about that incident yesterday,”

Even though Kang Ning also hoped someone would rescue them, he feared it was another trap.

Some of the fallen zombies would never rise again, while others, still slowly getting up, were greatly slowed by the paralyzing effect of the Thunder Element Ability.

“Guan Hong, find a way to open the cage. Xu Shi, the other side is yours to deal with,”

Liang Jiuhui commanded as he continued to use his Thunder Element Ability.

Guan Hong nodded. There were still a few zombies near the cage, whom he dispatched by driving Iron Spikes through their heads.

Under his Ability’s influence, the sealed cage quickly deformed until one side bent outward far enough for four people to exit.

Kang Ning was surprised by the Thunder Element man’s skill, all the Thunder Balls he threw seemed to be controlled by strings, and the lines of electricity looked like they were held in his hand. As he closed his fingers, the zombies connected by the Thunder and Lightning Ability fell down as if electrocuted!

On the other side, the Fire Element Ability User Xu Shi also moved swiftly among the zombies. Wherever Xu Shi went, several zombies ignited into flames. Accompanied by their howling, they slowly fell to the ground!

After opening the cage, Guan Hong went to support Xu Shi as Liang Jiuhui seemed not to need any help for the time being.

Liang Jiuhui’s moves were quite agile; he even wrapped himself in a layer of electricity, repelling the zombies that touched him, before finishing them off with his Thunder Balls.

“This is my first time seeing such a powerful Ability User,”

said the man behind Kang Ning.

“Stop staring, and help out,”

Kang Ning urged, too preoccupied to remain astonished as he started using his Earth Element Ability to hurl nearby rocks at the zombies not far away.

More zombies were gathering towards Civic Plaza. Liang Jiuhui saw Zhuo Dongping, the Speed Element man, had returned and shouted to Kang Ning and the others, “Get on the truck, and let’s get out of here!”

Xu Shi and Guan Hong didn’t linger in battle anymore. Together, they ran towards the truck.

As Kang Ning helped the weakened Sheng Jing onto the truck, he noticed two women already inside, who seemed to harbor no ill will.

In the truck, Lin Tianhui looked at the haggard two men and two women. One of the women was covered in lacerations; her face pale, seemingly lacking the strength even to get on the vehicle.

“Quick! Let me pull you up,”

Lin Tianhui’s companion, Feng Hua, hurried over to help.

Feng Hua was also under Liang Jiuhui; she had stayed in the truck to protect Lin Tianhui. Their mission this time was to rescue people.

After dealing with a few more zombies with his Thunder and Lightning Ability, Liang Jiuhui saw that everyone had boarded the truck and quickly jumped onto it as well.
