Chapter 926: Leaving the Vampire Domain [Bonus]

It screamed through the air like a thunderbolt sent from heaven, tearing through one thick castle wall, then another, and another, cleanly cutting through marble, steel, and enchanted bone columns without even slowing. With impossible precision, it carved a perfectly symmetrical corridor all the way through the castle and out into the lush, sunlit fields beyond, with wind and golden light pouring in as joy returned to the gloomy, dark place.

And then, just as the last echo of the blast faded, Mearie raised her palm calmly.

The spear, no longer visible, shot backwards through the same path like lightning rewinding time, landing in her hand with a heavenly chime. She twirled it twice, a fluid blur of motion, before tossing it up into the air where it vanished in a blink of divine sparkles.

She smiled, perfectly serene once more.

“Much better,” she said sweetly, turning with that same tender smile she used to offer Quinlan bedtime kisses.

“Come now, dear,” Luminara said gently to Serika, linking arms with the still-sniffling tanned woman. “Let’s take in some proper air.”

The two radiant moms flanked Serika as they led her down the newly made sunlit corridor, the heat and pain in her chest easing with each step away from the oppressive gloom.

Back in the sitting chamber, Feng stared at the path of destruction left in Mearie’s wake.

Her jaw slackened.

She blinked.

“…She just did that,” she mumbled, eyes wide.

Quinlan, still standing rested her, rested a hand on her shoulder as he sighed defeatedly.

“I might’ve beheaded a god… but compared to my moms?”

He gave a low chuckle.

“I’m still on the tutorial mission.”

Feng nodded solemnly. She didn’t quite know what he was talking about, but she got the gist of it.

“…Damn right you are.”

The group returned to the serene pond. Crystal-clear waters shimmered under golden light, and gentle steam rose from the heated natural springs, giving the place a tranquil, almost sacred atmosphere.

It was the same pond where Quinlan and his mothers had often bathed together, sharing laughter, old songs, and whispers from lives too long to recount. But today, the focus was different.

Today was for Serika.

Still subdued, the ex-Fire Sovereign followed them quietly, the heaviness in her chest dulled by the earlier outpouring but not gone. She dipped her toes into the warm water and blinked at the soothing heat, when suddenly…

*Splash.*

Two hands grabbed her arms and guided her into the pond with such practiced ease she barely had time to react. Then another pair joined, and before she could speak, Luminara and Mearie were at her sides, gently but firmly tending to her body with smooth cloths, soft soaps, and divine-level coordination.

“Wait! I can do this myself!” Serika protested, squirming under the touch of two women. “I’ve been bathing alone since I was a child, this is-!”

“We know you can, sweetheart,” Mearie said with a wink as she worked soft suds over the woman’s back, her voice as warm as a hearthfire.

“But…” Luminara continued, smiling gently as she massaged healing oils into Serika’s shoulders. “Even the strongest people deserve pampering from time to time.”

“You don’t have to be strong in front of us, dear,” Mearie whispered.

The words struck deep.

Serika opened her mouth again, but no words came. The warmth of the water, the soothing rhythm of their hands, the kindness in their tone… it all disarmed her more effectively than any sparring match. Her defenses, the ones she’d guarded with flame and fury, began to melt under the tender onslaught of turbo mommy affection.

Her brows furrowed. Her lips quivered.

She turned to Quinlan with a silent plea in her eyes: save me! I can’t defend against these two!

He caught the look and grinned devilishly, stretching lazily in the same water just a few paces away.

“I’ll make the ultimate sacrifice just for you, my adorable Serika,” he said with exaggerated solemnity. “Instead of having the joy of being spoiled silly by them today, I’ll let you enjoy my mothers in my stead.”

He closed his eyes, dramatically shaking his head. “Washing myself while they’re right there is the true punishment. But I’ll suffer for your sake, Serika.”

Serika blinked, a little scowl forming as the corners of her mouth fought upward.

“You bastard…” she muttered through a sigh, but her eyes were soft now. A gentle smile crept over her lips as she let herself relax into the mothers’ embrace.

Just then, Feng, still seated at the edge of the pond, dipping her toes shyly, puffed up with mock indignation.

“If you’re such a baby you can’t even wash your own back,” she huffed, cheeks pink, “then maybe I could do it for you!”

Her eyes flicked away, then back, her voice lowering to a tsundere mumble. “…Not like I want to or anything. But someone’s gotta wash your filthy mug…”

Quinlan laughed, flashing his teeth. “Eh, I’m good. Your bratty little hands and flat chest could never replace the expert technique and glorious curves of my mommies.”

Feng’s mouth dropped. “What?!”

She scoffed so hard she nearly choked on her own gasp, her face a volcano of red as she looked away with the wounded fury of a betrayed maiden.

Quinlan chuckled and reached over, giving her cheek a gentle pinch. “Sorry, sorry. That was unnecessarily mean even for me. Here.”

He tossed her a bar of sweet-scented soap and turned around in the water, offering his wide, muscular back. “If you’d be so kind, Fair Lady Feng…?”

Feng caught the soap, still pouting.

But her glistening eyes were glued to his back, where many muscles shone back at her. It was such a sight that the girl couldn’t help but salivate a little.

Her voice softened.

“If you insist, I suppose this Jade Beauty could help you this once…” she said, sliding into the water beside him.

Behind them, the sounds of gentle water splashes, motherly humming, and Serika’s faint laughter filled the pond as Luminara carefully rinsed her hair and Mearie rubbed her temples with a soothing balm.

It was peaceful.

Warm.

A fleeting moment of grace amidst a world at war.

And for a while—just a while—it was more than enough.

Well, at least until…

Mearie and Luminara blinked. At the same time.

Then turned and stared at Quinlan. Hard.

“Wait a second…” Mearie whispered slowly.

“We only know of six of your lovers…” Luminara added, her brows furrowing.

“…So why in the stars did we both think Serika was number nine?!”

The water stilled. A hush fell over the pond.

Then…

*SPLASH!! SPLASH!!*

Two furious stomps, cute but unyielding, sent water flying as both mothers stood up in the shallow end like twin sea witches awakened from ancient slumber.’

“QUINNIE!!!” they shrieked in perfect harmony, pointing accusatory fingers at him.

“EXPLAIN!!”
