[Flame Valley – Core Region. Day 11]

⟦Your Weak Flame Resistance Grows Stronger⟧

Kent read the message with a calm expression.

It had already been 11 days since they entered the Flame Valley. The past three days were spent absorbing the boatload of cores they’d harvested.

He shared it among them all, making sure everyone received an equal share of the loot.

Kent knew absorbing the cores wouldn’t do much for the growth of his flame resistance. However, he was mistaken. Although the resistance was still in its weak stage, Kent felt growth in more than one area.

First, of course, was his flame resistance. It had become much more powerful now. Though he still remained at the weak stage, Kent knew his resistance to flame attacks was in no way weak.

If anything, he was now more powerful than before. Of course, he suspected something at first, but he wasn’t sure. Now, he was able to pinpoint why he needed so much to build his resistance compared to the Half-Elves.

At first, when he gained the flame resistance while crossing the valley, he sensed that despite gaining flame resistance, it felt as though the scorching, heated environment no longer affected him.

If anything, it was more like, despite attaining his flame resistance, he should at least feel the heat on his skin like it should have been. But he didn’t, and that was due to his ‘Eternal Draconic Jade Body.’

Kent first had the Primordial Chaos Dragon Body when he came to this world, but when he was rewarded with the innate Eternal Jade Body, it mutated with his previous body, creating something new—something more dangerous.

This allowed him to remain in the heated environment despite attaining only weak flame resistance, without any discomfort for as long as he wanted.

This also meant his Eternal Draconic Jade Body had grown even stronger. Even Kent could see there was more to this new body than he had initially thought.

But even so, he could tell things would soon get much more interesting.

If weak flame resistance was also already this powerful, then he most certainly was looking forward to when he would be attaining High or Super Flame Resistance.

The third thing he sensed had grown stronger was his Body Cultivation. Having a diamond body is a prerequisite for joining most body cultivation sects in the high worlds.

However, Kent had already reached a stage, even without much progress, where a flame attack coming from someone, even with high or super comprehension of the flame, wouldn’t do much damage to him.

First, his own soul flame was strong enough to counter most attacks. Then there was his flame resistance, which, thanks to his Eternal Draconic Jade Body, had made him much stronger against any flame element.

Then, if that was not enough, he also had his diamond body, which Kent knew, unless the person was a monster like him, his diamond body would make it impossible to hurt him with flame attacks.

Of course, he had his ultimate defense, which was his dragon scale. But he didn’t think he would need that anytime soon.

If he were to layer all these robust defenses, then there was no doubt his defense had already reached a level even an average Spirit Lord would find it hard to hurt him.

However, that didn’t mean he would just let any attack land on his body, as if he were some maniac. Having a robust body wasn’t an invitation to let just any attack land on his body.

However, while Kent made some progress on many fronts, he wasn’t the only one walking away much stronger.

All eight Half-Elves he brought with him now had weak flame resistance. In fact, Princess Elowen, Madea, Norion, and Helyra even surprised Kent when they gained a weak Flame Comprehension.

This meant Norion and Madea were already guaranteed to enter the sect.

This is because one of the main reasons the sect uses the Flame Tower to select candidates is that, before one can make progress inside the tower, they must first comprehend the essence of the flame, which in turn allows them to learn a flame art.

So, having a firm grasp of the flame is a vital part of entering the tower, and now that Madea and Norion had comprehended that essence, their progress inside the tower would be swift.

However, while Dorren and Elia had yet to comprehend the essence of a flame, they were only a few steps away from attaining it.

Kent even suspected they would make their breakthrough within a few hours of entering the Flame Tower.

But Kent wasn’t even looking for that time to come. He already had a fix, and that fix was Uncle Drake.

As someone with a high understanding of the flame, passing his flame essence through their bodies was more than enough to help them.

That was what Uncle Drake was doing for them.

Kent himself was making headway on something even more vital… He purchased the only Flame Path art that the tower suddenly added to the Tower store.

It cost him 100 million tower points, but so far, despite making just 2% progress, his understanding of the flame had improved.

It was a technique with a name that even Kent didn’t know if it was exaggerated or not. But the ‘Hellfire Damnation Flame Art’ allowed him to understand the flame to the point he would be able to create hell on earth.

The tower would register his progress when his understanding reached 5%, so for now, he wasn’t in a rush. Comprehending a flame art skill was something he could do quite easily.

After a while, Uncle Drake managed to help Elia and Dorren attain weak comprehension.

“This is wonderful. If I had known I could use the flame this way, I wouldn’t have struggled in the battles we fought,” Dorren said with a smile, examining his green flame.

The rest shared his thoughts.

“Don’t look down, you two. The moment we get back, Uncle Drake will help you gain some understanding, too.”

Arion and Cyran nodded. Soon, they headed out of the core region. On the way, all flame beasts they came across either ran or were killed before they could attack.

With the primal aura coming from Uncle Drake, no beast, regardless of how aware they were, would think about attacking him. That would be suicide.

Thanks to him, they appeared outside the valley within 30 minutes and began riding back to Elarion.

The journey was much smoother.

Everyone had gained something, and to Arion, Cyran, and Helyra, they’d made so much that after selling everything at the adventurers’ guild, if they chose not to work for thousands of years, they wouldn’t run out of money.

All the beasts they killed in the Inner and Core regions were given to them.

In less than three hours, they were back in Elarion.
