Primordial Chaos Dragon Tower: Harem System
Chapter 752 - 752: Progress After Five Days [Bonus][Flame Valley – Core Region. Day 5/11]
“Cyran, you and Madea should flank through the right. Arion, Norion, and Dorren, you three shouldn’t get too close if you dont want to turn into a barbecue meat paste.
Princess Elowen, you are the one who would be going for the kill, so time it well, and finally, Helyra and Elia, just keep it distracted by bombarding it with nonstop attacks.”
Kent issues a series of orders while hovering 800 meters away from a scorched battlefield.
Locked in a fierce battle are the eight Half-Elves and a crab-like beast, large enough to fill a 500-meter radius.
It had already been five days since Kent and the Half-Elves entered the Flame Valley, and for the past five days, it had been nonstop battles.
They had already cleared five of the twelve locations mapped by the tower, and so far, they were handling the last beast at the sixth location.
Cyran and Madea were flanking the beast, aiming one arrow after another at all the exposed parts of its stone-like carapace. Its body was large, with twelve thick legs of which two were large enough to crash through anything it struck.
It had eyes lining its head, allowing it to see in all directions. So despite the two archers doing everything they could to overwhelm it, no matter how deadly the shots are taken, the crab always defends and counters.
However, the fact that they weren’t making much progress didn’t mean they weren’t making headway. If anything, Kent had already made sure they understood the battle dynamics in the first few minutes, so thirty minutes into the battle, they had already managed to pick up some patterns.
The beast, in essence, was unkillable, at least not by a bunch of weaklings who were not even one-thousandth of its size. However, they weren’t the same Half-Elves who cowered under the pressure of the Drake five days ago.
They had fought crazy battles, and thanks to Kent’s guidelines, they had adapted and strengthened their resolve, which helped them start to improve steadily.
They had already become much stronger, and with every last one of them possessing Tier 6 soul flames, with Elowen even at Tier 7, the battle wasn’t too far out of their grasp.
If anything, the longer they fought, the more they adapted.
Norion circled one large leg of the crab, which tried to land its colossal leg on him. However, Norion was faster and moved, but not before cutting a wound into the leg.
Madea, who was tracking Norion as if he were her target, shot an arrow at the wounded leg, and with precision, the arrow went through and dissolved.
This made Madea smile.
“It won’t be long now,” she thought as more arrows left her bow. Cyran had already launched an attack on one of the crab’s eyes and was looking to take out more.
Naturally, he wasn’t shooting at just any random eye. If anything, he was aiming strategically at a specific point in the eye.
So far, if he managed to take out two eyes, the crab would lose peripheral vision, creating a blind spot at a narrow point on its left.
This would allow Princess Elowen to deal a fatal attack, one that would cause more damage than the one dealt by Madea.
Helyra waved her staff, conjuring a rather large fireball.
It towered over the crab, and then she dropped it.
At the same time, Elia, the second mage, also conjured a large spear made out of her soul flame and shot it at the crab.
Helyra’s fireball didn’t manage to land because the crab defended using its own fireball, but the spear landed and created a dent on its stony carapace.
It was just a dent, but that was enough to create an opening for Princess Elowen to fire her second arrow since the start of the battle.
It shattered the shell on the crab’s back, and the cold flame arrow entered its body. Another followed, and three more streaked through the air, landing heavily on these shells and creating a rather thunderous explosion.
“Yes.”
Princess Elowen celebrated despite the giant crab still moving about, unleashing hellfire on everyone.
“This sucker just won’t die,” Cyran said as he took out a second eye, giving Dorren an opening to get close and slash his sword at one more leg, cutting a wound into it like Norion did.
Madea, of course, was quick to send another poison arrow into the new wound, causing her to smile.
“I need two more legs, and we will be able to kill this sucker,” Madea made sure the three teammates wielding the sword knew what had to be done. Norion, Doreen, and Arion nodded and got to work.
Norion darted around another massive leg.
The crab slammed it down hard, sending dust flying.
Norion barely dodged, feeling the heat of the ground crack beneath him. He slashed quickly, cutting into the thick armor again.
The beast roared, swinging its leg wildly. However, Cyran was a step ahead with another arrow, taking out its third eye.
The moment the third arrow was released, Princess Elowen fired another arrow, this time at one of the eyes. It was a powerful strike that pushed the crab back.
However, before it could stabilize on its leg, another arrow pierced the second blinded eye. It staggered and swayed to one side, as if it had become drunk.
Not that it was privileged to have a drink or two.
The drunkenness was due to the poisoned arrows Madea fired. They were lethal enough to leave the crab swaying like a drunkard.
Naturally, Princess Elowen knew it was time to kill the sucker, so she fired one arrow after another, targeting only the eyes.
In no time, one part of the creature’s body began to freeze. The flame Princess Elowen wielded was much more lethal and freezing cold.
It was a soul flame, alright, but her flame burned with icy coldness. Sending one arrow after another into the crab’s body was more than enough to freeze it slowly.
It took several dozen arrows, but gradually, the crab succumbed to the onslaught and stopped moving, frozen solid like a forest shaped like a crab.
“Amazing,” Kent said as he flew and landed on the back of the crab to collect the flame spirit and store the body.
“That was the last of the flame beasts in this region. We now have only six more areas to explore within the next six days, as we must return to Elarion for the Flame Tower opening.
But for now, you’ve all worked hard, so you must be rewarded.” Kent produced sixteen flame spirits, bringing smiles to their exhausted faces.
