Primordial Chaos Dragon Tower: Harem System
Chapter 706 - 706: Adventurers [Bonus]Kent, Arion, Cyran, and Helyra quickly left the battleground and began heading out of the inner area, back to the outer section, and ultimately, back to Elarion.
Of course, Arion and his friends tried to take Kent through the safest path known to all who hunted in the Flame Region. However, upon examining the map, Kent realized it would take much longer, so he chose the shortest route to traverse.
They protested that the path he had chosen would be fraught with danger, but after Kent handled the first beast they encountered, they began following him as if he were their leader.
After a while, they arrived in the outer region…
“That was intense,” Cyran said, taking a deep breath. Kent turned and looked at him, smiling.
“So you three are like some adventurers who pick quests and complete them?” Kent asked.
“No… We don’t qualify as adventurers since we haven’t yet obtained the adventurer’s qualification. But this time, after this sale, we will get our dreams fulfilled…” Arion said with a happy expression.
Cyran and Helyra were also happy. They were part of the nobodies in the Half-Elves region, despite being Core Formation experts. They were basically at the bottom of the well, which was shocking.
The strongest in the human world were at the 4th level of the Core Formation stage two years ago, and even to date, Kent knew, aside from perhaps the hidden expert whom most chose to live in the ancient battlefield of Parting, the three standing before him had the strength to bring the humans to their knees.
Yet as it stood, such people were not even regarded as qualified candidates to join the adventurers’ guild. That baffled Kent slightly.
“How exactly do things work in this part of the world?” Kent asked. “I mean, for powerful warriors like you three, joining the adventurers’ guild shouldn’t be too hard, right?”
Arion smiled, shaking his head. “We may be at the Core Formation stage, but to join the adventurers’ guild, you have to meet some requirements.
The first is to have three or more people in your team. A lone individual can’t become an adventurer, so you need a team. We already met that requirement.
The second is to be at the Core Formation stage, and at least refine your core once. We qualify for that, too.
The third and last requirement is where we have been stuck for the past 17 years since this team was formed. To become an adventurer, we were to kill a Beast possessing a spirit flame and present both the flame and the beast at the adventurers’ guild.
We have been trying for years now, but despite killing quite a sizable number of beasts, we have never had much luck getting a spirit flame from any of them—until now.
“So, thank you for helping us realize our dream,” Arion explained, and Kent nodded. The requirements truly explain why they were grateful when he let them have the two spirit flames.
Knowing how dangerous the Flame Valley was, he realized they didn’t have what it took to get what they were after. Of course, if they risked it and went deeper without him, they wouldn’t be returning to their families again.
“It seems things on this side of the world aren’t as simple as I expected. But I have to ask, if you’ve been killing and selling bodies of flame beasts, why didn’t you stick to that?
I don’t know how much these bodies sell for, but I know for sure they are worth some amount of spirit stones. So why not stick to that instead of risking your lives by heading deeper into the Inner Region?
Is becoming an adventurer worth more than your lives? Sorry if I am rude, but I just don’t understand,” Kent asked, wearing a questioning expression.
Arion stared at his friends and sighed. “We aren’t doing this for ourselves. If it were just our lives, we would have long died.
All of this is for our families.
As an adventurer, if you were to die right now, your family would be taken care of forever by the adventurers’ guild. So while it may seem like we have a death wish by entering deeper into the Inner Region, we want to secure the future of our children and loved ones.
A wise man once said, ‘A man who fights for himself is no warrior, but a man who fights for his family is remembered at the tables of legends.'”
Kent nodded with a smile. “I can’t argue that. That man was wise for sure… Fighting for your family is noble, and it’s what drives all of us to wake up every day and grind.”
Kent was impressed by their drive. What motivated them every day was their desire to leave their families in good standing.
“Well… I think you three will make fantastic adventurers.” Arion and his two team members smiled. Though they didn’t know much about Kent, they had seen what he could do, so hearing his words made them feel some pride.
“So you came from the human world using the Ancient Battlefield of Parting…” Cyran asked, but then a realization struck him. “The Elves and the humans don’t see eye to eye… so how did you manage to pass through the gateway?”
Kent smiled.
“I didn’t pass through the Ancient Battlefield of Parting… I came using the Black Sea.”
Cyran, Arion, and Helyra turned and looked at Kent. “You’re kidding. There is no way you crossed the Black Sea…”
Kent shook his head. “I’m not lying… I came using the Dark Sea. Though I have to ask, if the Elves hate humans, then why are you three not pulling your weapons on me now?”
“We are not Elves…” Helyra answered with a disgusted expression. “Those bastards… I want nothing to do with them.”
The hate in her tone said it all; she hated the Elves, which was fascinating. If anyone hadn’t met an Elf before, they would assume Half-Elves were Elves because of their pointed ears.
But Kent knew that although they both had pointed ears, the ears on the Half-Elves were less pronounced or smaller than those of full-blooded Elves.
So, while they had the blood of Elves in their bodies, they also had the blood of humans; therefore, their hatred was probably directed more toward the Elves than the humans.
“Tell me more about the Elves… everything you know about them that suggests why they hate humans.”
