Picking Up Fragments in PUBG

Chapter 284: Justice from the Heavens!

The two had just climbed onto the rooftop when Jiang Siming leaped again, moving to another rooftop.

They wanted to shoot but didn’t have time and could only continue chasing.

The three of them played out an intense police-and-thief chase scene on the rooftops, with Jiang Siming continuously using the gaps and cover between rooftops to evade capture.

Finally, he leaped again, landing on a rooftop he had jumped to earlier, and as soon as he landed, he jumped down.

The spot he chose to jump to was the second-floor balcony, where he slipped inside the building and hid in the bathroom.

17shou and Da Jing, who had been chasing him, suddenly lost track of Jiang Siming. They were left disoriented by his looping and leaping movements.

"Check over there. Split up and search; he’s probably still hiding on the rooftop," 17shou said irritably. Being toyed with in their own city, P City, was a humiliation too great to bear.

Hiding in the bathroom, Jiang Siming narrowly escaped, taking the opportunity to heal. All he had from the church was five bandages.

The bodies of Ma Niu Niu and Hou Zi had first-aid kits, but there hadn’t been time to loot them; grabbing the red fragment earlier had already been a stretch.

He could only use the bandages. Though slow, they at least restored some health.

Taking a quick glance at the red fragment he had picked up, Jiang Siming saw it was [Advanced Basketball], leaving him just one piece shy of completing this skill.

As he packed the fragment away, his bandages weren’t even fully used up before 17shou and Da Jing’s footsteps were heard again, coming down the balcony.

It never rains but pours; Jiang Siming had to stop bandaging.

Like a leopard under attack, he prepared to counter, ready to strike a fatal blow at any moment.

This encounter with Team 17 was the most dire one Jiang Siming had faced in a long time.

It was mainly due to being low on meds and gear and almost getting trapped by Team 17’s strategy—a textbook case of catching prey in a jar, though that analogy might be a bit off…

After entering the bathroom, Jiang Siming cleverly left the door open, betting that his opponents wouldn’t search the bathroom first but would instead go for the adjacent bedroom.

As expected, when 17shou and Da Jing entered and saw the open bathroom door, they didn’t check it first but went straight to the bedroom.

Taking this chance, Jiang Siming dashed out of the bathroom.

If he didn’t move, he was dead; they would soon check the bathroom, and once they blocked the doorway, escape would be impossible.

Since hiding wasn’t an option, he decided to gamble on a desperate move.

Jiang Siming charged out of the bathroom, running toward the staircase. Just before reaching the railing, he leaped lightly.

His foot landed on the railing, and without stopping, he jumped to the other side.

This jump resembled the ghost jumps seen in *CrossFire* and *APEX Legends,* where a player immediately jumps again after landing at a point.

While such a move was common in *CF* and *APEX,* the realistic physics in *PUBG* made it difficult to perform due to gravity and inertia.

When Jiang Siming pulled off this maneuver, even the commentators were stunned.

In just one second, Jiang Siming transitioned from the second floor to the first, skipping the stairs and avoiding being shot by Da Jing and 17shou once again.

After landing on the first floor, Jiang Siming immediately took cover near the staircase and ambushed Da Jing as he turned around, spraying wildly with his Bizon. Discover stories with

In an instant, the roles were reversed. Jiang Siming switched from defense to offense.

By holding the staircase on the first floor, he ensured that his opponents would be at a disadvantage. They would have to face his ambush first and could only see a small part of his head while trying to attack.

If it were an average marksman, Da Jing and 17shou could have taken some hits and still managed to take him down.

But against Jiang Siming, a gunplay monster, they didn’t even have time to raise their guns before Da Jing was instantly killed.

17shou immediately returned fire from behind, but Jiang Siming, like a slippery eel, retreated and refused to engage further.

17shou didn’t dare to revive Da Jing right away and could only let him crawl to the bedroom while keeping his gun trained on the staircase, afraid Jiang Siming might sneak back up.

Outside, Jiang Siming’s footsteps could be heard. It sounded like he was leaving.

17shou didn’t pursue him and chose to return to the bedroom to assist Da Jing.

After running out of the building, Jiang Siming didn’t even reload his Bizon submachine gun, which had only seven bullets left after taking down Da Jing.

But he still didn’t reload.

"The God of Ming might have forgotten to reload! This could be a major issue," the commentator Zhou Yi said anxiously. The two female commentators were just as worried, wishing they could notify Jiang Siming to reload...

Jiang Siming hadn’t forgotten to reload—he simply didn’t have time.

After exiting the building, he sprinted towards a three-story structure while muttering under his breath, "One... two... three... four..."

Jiang Siming was counting, calculating how long it would take 17shou to assist Da Jing.

By the time he reached "four," he was already climbing the three-story building.

By "six," he was on the rooftop with three seconds left to spare.

Jiang Siming climbed onto the rooftop railing and leapt towards the opposite roof.

In the final second, Jiang Siming landed on the roof opposite where Da Jing had been knocked down.

Sure enough, he saw 17shou still reviving Da Jing. Jiang Siming immediately raised his Bizon and fired the remaining seven bullets at 17shou’s head, creating a full bloom of hits!

"Damn it!" 17shou was extremely frustrated. Just 0.5 seconds more, and Da Jing would have been revived.

But now, because of that 0.5-second difference, both of them were down, and Da Jing couldn’t be revived.

The moment they fell, they both turned into loot boxes.

The entire 17 team was wiped out!

Jiang Siming let out a long sigh of relief. Damn, this city battle was way too thrilling and nerve-wracking.

In the end, it all came down to the wire—climbing to the rooftop and taking out 17shou. That final 0.5 seconds decided his victory.

If 17shou had that extra 0.5 seconds, he could have revived Da Jing. Even if Jiang Siming managed to knock him down again, there would be no time to finish off Da Jing.

With no bullets left in his Bizon, Jiang Siming would have been a sitting duck for Da Jing, who could easily counterattack and kill him in the open.

That’s why Jiang Siming had been meticulously calculating time, winning himself that crucial 0.5 seconds.

But before he could celebrate, a divine thunderbolt landed at Jiang Siming’s feet from the heavens.

The entire P City turned into a sea of red alerts—the bombing zone had arrived!

And just his luck, a bomb exploded right beneath Jiang Siming.

Now, Jiang Siming was stunned. After a nail-biting one-vs-four victory, was he about to be schooled by the system?

The bomb knocked Jiang Siming down. He sat there, despair written all over his face. Was this fate?

He hadn’t even looted the fragments from 17shou’s body yet. Damn it all!
