Chapter 1854 - The Truth

It felt as if time had stopped all of a sudden when the words were spoken.

Qin Nan’s eyes sharpened. The Dao-Melting Immortal Flames in his body burned vigorously, as if they were going to explode soon.

“You are saying that…the Divine God of Battle is trying to harm me?”

Qin Nan did not do anything in the end. He grinned coldly as he spoke, “Don’t even bother driving a wedge between us. It’s meaningless. Besides, aren’t you the one that might be harboring evil intentions toward me instead?”

The Divine God of Battle was the greatest fortune he had encountered.

Even though the Divine God of Battle might have found him in the first place because of his past life, he would never be able to pay back the things that the Divine God of Battle had done for him.

If it wasn’t for the Divine God of Battle, he would not be here today.

The young man let out a sigh and said, “Senior, I can tell that you believe you are only here today because of the Divine God of Battle, but the truth is, he has messed everything up.”

“We were looking for you in the past just like the Divine God of Battle, but the Divine God of Battle managed to find you first.”

Qin Nan was not bothered by the words. He waved his hand and said, “I’ve only come to find out who my past life was. Since you aren’t allowed to say it, you can ask the person behind you to show himself instead.”

According to Empress Feiyue’s speculation, the drop of demon blood belonged to someone greater instead of the Seventh Immortal, Demon Emperor Wutian who was currently standing in front of him.

Qin Nan agreed with it too.

The young man fell silent for a moment. He said with a wry smile, “Senior, I’m sorry, now isn’t the time for him to show himself yet, but senior, everything I told you is real. If you don’t believe me, I can swear an Immortal Demon Oath.”

“Any other oaths are fine too.”

Qin Nan looked at the man expressionlessly. He said after some time, “You don’t have to swear an oath. I can decide if the Divine God of Battle is trying to harm me or not. Besides, you are the Seventh Immortal, do oaths really work on you?”

“Since you can’t tell me anything, nor is the person behind you going to show up, I shall excuse myself first.”

Qin Nan turned around and left. The young man let out a sigh and quickly rose to his feet. He bowed and said, “Farewell, but I hope senior remember that if you finally awaken one day, we will submit ourselves to you for life and death right away.”

“Senior, you must not tell anyone about the conversation between us too.”

Qin Nan suddenly halted in his track.

The Seventh Immortal had treated a mere Heaven Immortal like him so sincerely.

However, he still trusted his own guts.

He trusted the Divine God of Battle more.

In the end, Qin Nan went to the door and left the place without saying a word.

Little did he know, the young man stared at his back as he left for some time. He turned around and saluted, before asking in a probing tone, “Master, is he really senior’s reincarnation!?”

An ancient voice that seemed to have traveled across a great distance echoed above the place, “I wasn’t too sure before, but I’m quite confident now!”

“Senior told me prior to his death that he had a great plan. If it’s a success, he will return with glory and turn the world upside down!”

“Although senior is currently influenced by the Divine God of Battle and the others, it might not necessarily be unfavorable to us. Either way, the Divine God of Battle and the others have made a huge mistake. They had no idea who senior really was!”

The young man understood the situation more even though he had no clue what the plan was. His eyes suddenly turned blood red.

A strong murderous aura surged across the place.

The strange herbs and flowers, and the willow wilted rapidly as if their life was being drained away.

“Very well, as expected of a senior! It seems like following senior was definitely the right choice in the past!”

The young man stuck his tongue out and licked his lips.

“Of course, senior has the biggest chance compared to the others! Now, senior is already a Heaven Immortal. He will have the first awakening when he reached the Nine Heavens Supreme Realm!”

“The Ninth Immortal, the Six Immortal, and the Divine God of Battle are already making their moves. The people on the other side are feeling restless too. The Ancient Taboo seems to be looking for something!”

“Therefore, the two of us must recover our cultivation as soon as possible. We should at least recover sixty percent of our cultivation before senior awakens!” the ancient voice said.

“Master is right!”

The young man nodded. He vanished into thin air with a flicker.

As for Qin Nan, the seal on the Heaven-Repairing Cauldron had long vanished on its own after he left the hall. Doom wanted to ask something, yet he decided to stay quiet when he thought about Qin Nan’s identity.

“How was it?”

Empress Feiyue’s cold voice appeared.

“After I went inside…”

Qin Nan told her everything. He had completely forgotten about the young man’s warning.

He trusted the copper mirror too.

“Things are getting interesting.”

Even though her tone remained cold, Qin Nan could imagine the beautiful woman’s lips curling upward somewhere across the rift. Her eyes might be glittering too.

“How is that interesting?”

Qin Nan rolled his eyes. He rubbed his forehead and said, “I just want to know who my past life was, but everything feels so complicated now.”

Empress Feiyue fell silent for a moment before she said, “I can only tell you one thing, the Ten Immortals were roughly split into three sides. The Divine God of Battle and the Sixth Immortal were one, while the Demon Emperor Wutian was from the other side.”

“The two sides were not necessarily one another’s enemy, but they weren’t friendly either.”

Qin Nan slightly frowned.

“There must be some reason that the two sides were spending so much time on someone insignificant like you.”

“From what I can tell, the Young Master that the Beast Hide Drawing was calling you isn’t really your past life. The purple crystal that he took away was only a decoy too.”

Qin Nan nodded with a helpless look.

Either way, he did not have any clues to find out what the truth was. He would only understand everything that happened once he found out the identity of his past life.

“Having a formidable past life might be a good thing, but it might be a bad thing too.”

“As for now, you don’t have to worry too much about it. Just strive to achieve the Peerless Ruler Realm first, then the Nine Heavens Supreme Realm. Keep growing stronger is what you are supposed to do.”

“Don’t trust everything that you encountered, but don’t disregard them all either. Just remain calm at all times.”

It was Empress Feiyue’s first time saying so much to Qin Nan that was not necessarily related to the formal matters on hand.
