Online Game: I Started with Max Charisma and Caught the Goddess's Eye
Chapter 366 - 366: The Aberrant Beast! The Unreliable Leipoder! Why is it Back Again?Meanwhile, Ric and the others were unaware that Luca had once again infiltrated the underground laboratory.
However, at that moment, they noticed something strange.
A large group had thoroughly searched Dragon Gate Mountain, inside and out, yet not a single trace was found. The person wearing the Ultraman mask had seemingly vanished into thin air, leaving no sign behind. The group could only wander around the mountain aimlessly like headless chickens.
“How could he just disappear like that? Is he useless now, or what? Keep searching!” Ric’s expression darkened. Letting that person escape Dragon Gate Mountain the day before was already a huge insult to them.
If that guy managed to escape again, Ric, the Minister of Summer Country, probably wouldn’t keep his position much longer.
The guard who came to report didn’t dare to slack off and immediately took orders. However, in his hurry, he nearly bumped into Musk, who was coming from the other direction.
“Sorry, Professor Musk.” The guard hurriedly bowed in apology.
Musk, however, didn’t even glance at him. Frowning, he asked, “What’s going on?”
Seeing Musk, Ric’s expression softened slightly. “That bastard from yesterday has shown up at the salon today. How did you come out of the laboratory? Didn’t I tell you all to stay on alert and not leave?”
“It wasn’t your order… no, wait!” Musk froze for a moment, and then his face changed dramatically as he realized something.
“Boom!” Just then, a deafening explosion suddenly rang out from the ancient castle at the mountaintop. Thick smoke rose into the sky, and the entire castle was engulfed in flames.
Everyone turned in shock to witness a monstrous aberration, several hundred meters tall, covered in scorching flames, rise from the rubble. It let out a thunderous roar that echoed across the mountainside.
“Roar!!” The terrifying soundwave swept through the air, scattering the clouds above, while the sea of flames illuminated the sky, casting a red glow over the entire mountaintop and the astonished faces of everyone below.
“An Aberrant Beast? How did it get out!” Ric exclaimed, stunned.
The Aberrant Beast was a semi-finished experiment from the laboratory. Though it was Star-level in power, it was uncontrollable, and so it had been sealed deep within the lab and kept under strict guard. How could it have suddenly broken free?
Marx, standing beside him, wore an extremely grim expression.
He had already figured out that the person who had informed him earlier must have been involved. This Aberrant Beast had most likely been released by them.
This realization filled Musk, who had always been proud, with a deep sense of humiliation, as if he were being mocked and toyed with.
But now was not the time to dwell on that.
The Aberrant Beast at the mountaintop had already recognized the one responsible for its monstrous appearance.
With flames surging around it, the beast spread its wings and soared toward them.
Boom!!
A tremendous pressure descended from the heavens.
Both the guards and the other attendants felt as though they were being crushed by a massive mountain.
“Damn beast!” Ric’s aura exploded.
He shot into the sky like an arrow, trailing a rainbow-like streak as he headed directly toward the approaching Aberrant Beast.
The moment the two collided, a burst of fire and rainbow light exploded. The brilliance illuminated the dark night, and the terrifying shockwave swept through the sky. Thunderous roars echoed across the entire Imperial Capital. The violent winds sent the trees on Dragon Gate Mountain shaking violently.
Scattered rocks and sparks flew in all directions like artillery shells, heading in every possible direction. The guards on the mountain and the attendants of Dragon Gate Mountain frantically dodged, but still, some unfortunate souls were caught by the shockwaves of the battle.
For a moment, the entire Dragon Gate Mountain was filled with the sounds of screaming.
Fortunately, Ric immediately soared into the air and intercepted the suddenly rampaging aberrant monster.
“We need to deal with this beast quickly. Everyone, listen up…” Just as Marx was thinking about how to re-seal the monster, his peripheral vision suddenly caught sight of two sneaky figures in a shadowy corner.
One of them wore a tattered white lab coat, his hair disheveled and face covered in stubble. The other was dressed in a suit, with a tall, straight posture, and wearing an Ultraman mask. It was none other than Leipoder and Luca, trying to escape amidst the chaos!
“Stop them!!” Musk’s eyes burned with murderous intent, and without thinking, he immediately gave orders to the others.
The two, who had been preparing to sneak away, froze in shock. They hadn’t expected such bad luck—running straight into Zenith’s main force.
They exchanged a glance, and without saying a word, turned and fled. Their speed was astonishing, leaving afterimages in their wake.
Ric, still intercepting the Aberrant Beast in the sky, also spotted the two figures. His already grim expression grew even darker. Without a second thought, he gathered his primal power in his hand, and in the blink of an eye, it transformed into a massive, rainbow-colored sword capable of cleaving the heavens.
“Die!” he shouted fiercely, as the giant sword, carrying immense power, swung down toward the two fugitives.
Luca, sensing the danger behind him, looked back and saw a giant sword obscuring his view, heading straight for him.
Though his expression was hidden behind the mask, his eyes—glowing with a faint purple light—were unmistakable.
Buzz! The purple light rippled outward, forming a violet barrier that enveloped both of them.
Boom!! The moment the giant sword made contact with the barrier, a terrifying wave of energy exploded outward, and the blinding light made it impossible for anyone to open their eyes. Luca and Leipoder were completely consumed by the overwhelming primal power.
Countless people in the Imperial Capital looked up at Dragon Gate Mountain, nearly half of its peak obliterated. Their faces were filled with shock, unable to understand what had just happened. The Morning Star and the Imperial Capital Guard received orders immediately and rushed toward Dragon Gate Mountain without hesitation.
“Let’s see where you can run this time!” Ric’s figure hovered in the sky, his face twisted into a cold smile. But just as he finished speaking, the smile froze on his face.
Cracks spread across the giant sword, purple radiance seeping through, and then, with the gaze of everyone upon it, the primal power-infused giant sword suddenly exploded. Luca and Leipoder’s figures reappeared, the explosion terrifying as it had been, but neither of them had suffered any harm.
Without a moment’s pause, they swiftly dashed in another direction.
“Damn it!” Seeing this, Ric ground his teeth in frustration. He immediately issued orders to the guards behind him. At the same time, seven-colored light swirled around him, and a pair of wings formed behind him. He no longer cared about the rampaging Aberrant Beast and directly charged toward Luca and the others.
Sensing the danger, Leipoder, his body glowing with a scarlet light, glanced back and frowned. “This Ric is somewhat capable. If we can’t shake him off, we might not be able to escape. What do we do?”
Originally, according to his plan, the Aberrant Beast should have been able to hold Ric off for a while. But he hadn’t expected Ric to be so relentless, ignoring the lives of others to hunt them down. This had completely thrown off his plan. Now, Leipoder was at a loss.
Luca sighed. “Earlier, you said you had a way to escape, and I trusted you. Now you’re asking me what to do?”
This guy was utterly unreliable.
Luca had once believed that Leipoder had a complete escape plan, but now, in the heat of the moment, he realized he’d placed his trust in the wrong person.
Fortunately, Luca wasn’t completely unprepared.
A flash of light appeared, and a crimson magical spear materialized in his hand, while red magic runes unfurled in the air.
The fire elements in the atmosphere seemed to be stirred by some unseen force, becoming agitated at that very moment.
By this time, Ric, burning with rage, had caught up with them.
A magnificent longsword shimmered, primal power swirling around it.
The dazzling slash cut through space, heading straight for Luca’s head!
“Die!” Ric’s voice seemed to come from the depths of the underworld, cold and bone-chilling.
Luca said nothing. With a flick of his wrist, the magical spear fearlessly met Ric’s attack.
“Boom!!!”
The red magic runes exploded, and crimson flames mixed with the sharp slash, creating a storm that swept out in all directions.
The two figures were sent flying at the same time.
Ric’s longsword hit the ground, sliding for dozens of meters before coming to a halt.
Luca was sent flying backward for over a hundred meters, and cracks appeared along the crimson magical spear in his hand.
However, his figure did not stop. Instead, he used the momentum to fly even farther, casually pulling Leipoder along with him.
The distance between the two parties quickly widened.
Naturally, Ric was not one to give up so easily. Just as he was about to chase after them, his movement halted, and he looked up into the sky. There, he saw that the Aberrant Beast had somehow opened its massive jaws and was viciously lunging toward him.
In an instant, Ric had no choice but to raise his sword in defense.
“Boom!!!” The Aberrant Beast unleashed a torrent of flames from its mouth, engulfing Ric entirely in the violent inferno. Luca, seizing the opportunity, activated the spatial magic runes he had prepared in advance.
Silver light enveloped him and Leipoder.
In the blink of an eye, both of them vanished, only to reappear at the foot of Dragon Gate Mountain.
The Imperial Capital guards and attendants at the base of the mountain were left frozen, unsure whether to stop them or not. But Luca didn’t even glance at them. Grabbing Leipoder by the back of his collar, he sprinted in the direction away from Imperial Capital.
“What are you standing there for? Don’t just stare—chase them!” Zovland, who had arrived at some point, seized the opportunity to flatter Zenith. Without thinking, he immediately issued orders to the Eastern Territory soldiers.
At that moment, Drumph and the other members of Morning Star from different regions arrived.
The other two leaders only hesitated for a moment before sending their men after Luca and Leipoder.
But Drumph didn’t rush to involve the Northern Territory troops in this matter.
Unlike the others, who were overly cautious and eager to please Zenith, Drumph had never held any favorable opinion toward Zenith’s people.
If it hadn’t been for orders from above, for the sake of the “greater good,” he wouldn’t have even bothered showing up.
Even though Zenith’s people wielded world-shattering power, it didn’t change the fact that they were the enemies of all humankind.
At this moment, seeing someone manage to put Zenith in a difficult position, Drumph couldn’t have been happier. He certainly had no intention of rushing to help.
However, to Drumph’s surprise, things took an unexpected turn.
Before he could enjoy his satisfaction for long, he suddenly saw the two people, who had seemingly vanished into the distance, reappear—and this time.
They were coming back even faster than before!
Everyone was stunned. How could these two possibly be running back?
