One Piece: Don't Worry, I'm a Doctor
Chapter 279: Women only slow down your blade—BulletChapter 279: Chapter 279: Women only slow down your blade—Bullet
Vir had fully grasped Bullet’s situation.
The intel from the original storyline wasn’t wrong.
His right ear was completely shattered.
Coupled with the massive scar across his chest and his slightly menacing face, he could probably scare an old grandma to death without much trouble.
But there was one detail not mentioned in the intel.
Bullet had a penetrating wound on the outer left side of his chest—right near the armpit.
A gaping hole, as if punched straight through, was clearly visible.
Moreover, from Bullet’s movements, Vir could tell he had internal injuries as well.
Yet there were no external marks.
Most likely, those were caused by Sengoku’s shockwaves.
And the fist wound didn’t seem to be from Garp.
The reason was simple.
The size of the wound didn’t match Garp’s fist.
It was noticeably bigger.
Within the Marines, twenty years ago…
Aside from Garp, whose punches were notoriously devastating, there were two other legendary fist fighters:
Zephyr and Kong.
Kong was out of the question.
Bullet wasn’t important enough for the Fleet Admiral, who was drowning in work, to personally hunt him down.
That left Zephyr.
To injure Bullet this badly…
In his youth, Zephyr’s fists were nearly as fearsome as Garp’s.
This wound would require the Vibro-Blade to treat.
In the movie, even two years later, Bullet still hadn’t fully recovered from these injuries.
Without a skilled doctor, recovery would be slow—too much time had passed without proper treatment.
It had become a chronic issue.
And yet, even in that state, he had obliterated the entire Worst Generation by himself.
A genuine one-man army.
There was no denying it—Bullet’s strength was no joke.
Now, the treatment plan had to be reconsidered.
Vir had originally thought it was just an ear injury.
He hadn’t expected this many injuries.
In that case, the Vibro-Blade was necessary.
If it was just the ear, Vir wouldn’t have bothered using it.
That thing had limited uses, after all.
As for the internal injuries from the shockwaves?
Vir could use the same massage technique he’d bought at great expense—the one that was effective in treating Whitebeard’s internal damage.
It specialized in healing organ trauma.
“Little girl, you here to be my punching bag?”
Bullet, who had initially ignored her, grew impatient as Hancock lingered.
His words made it clear—her charm had zero effect on him.
As the old saying goes:
“Women only slow down your blade.”
And Bullet had clearly taken that to heart.
Hancock frowned but said nothing, not wanting to interfere with Vir’s plans—even though she had no idea what he was up to.
She glanced at Vir, who gave her a subtle wink.
Understanding, she turned and walked back toward the elevator.
“We’re done here. Let’s go.”
Her tone was ice-cold.
Magellan was puzzled—what had she even come to see?—but he didn’t question it.
Orders were orders.
Now that she was leaving, his duty was fulfilled.
Soon, they reached the entrance.
The seastone cuffs were removed from Hancock’s wrists.
Without further exchange, Hancock boarded the Marine ship headed back to headquarters.
Magellan barely restrained a starstruck Hannyabal from spouting something embarrassing.
He didn’t even need to guess what the fool was about to say…
As the ship sailed away, Magellan finally relaxed.
He’d been worried about some hidden scheme, but everything seemed fine.
“Warden! Emergency! Prisoners on Levels 1 and 2 are rioting!”
The moment Magellan declared “all clear”, disaster struck.
His face darkened as he glared at the reporting guard.
“Isn’t it just one guy?! How did you all let things escalate like this?!”
Was Impel Down really this pathetic?
Could a single intruder really turn the place upside down?
Hannyabal, sensing Magellan’s rising fury (and the toxic fumes starting to leak from his nose), quickly grabbed his trident and rushed toward Level 2.
“I’ll handle it! These guys have gotten too soft—can’t even deal with one troublemaker!”
Magellan exhaled a cloud of purple gas, nostrils flaring.
A riot?
Fine!
They’d all go down!
The prisoners on Level 1 were screwed.
Meanwhile, miles away, a battered ship drifted on the waves.
The black flag with its distinctive three-skull emblem marked its owner.
On deck, several figures gathered.
“Captain! Laffitte’s back!”
Burgess, peering through spyglass, spotted the winged figure approaching.
Soon, Laffitte landed gracefully, folding his wings.
The crew crowded around.
“Well? Has he left yet?” Blackbeard demanded.
“Not yet… but I picked up some interesting news.”
Laffitte said with a smile, leaning on his cane.
Before anyone could ask, he spilled the details.
“The Pirate Empress has already left. But right now, there’s a guy wreaking havoc inside Impel Down.”
The crew blinked.
One guy, storming Impel Down alone?
Who the hell was stealing their thunder?
Since when was prison-breaking a competitive sport?
And more importantly—Garp was still inside!
Who’d be crazy enough to attack now?
“It’s Straw Hat Luffy.” Laffitte revealed.
The crew immediately relaxed.
Oh.
Him.
No big deal, then.
No way Garp would arrest his own grandson, right?
Perfect!
Luffy’s rampage would actually help them.
He wasn’t strong enough to break anyone out—he’d get wrecked by Magellan soon enough.
But his chaos would be the perfect distraction.
Once Garp’s ship left…
They’d strike.
“ZEHAHAHA! Good! The moment that old bastard Garp sails away—we move in!”
Blackbeard’s laughter boomed, his missing teeth on full display.
He could already see it—a ship full of monstrous recruits.
But Laffitte, who’d been frowning since landing, voiced the same concern as Domino:
“If it’s just Straw Hat, he’s no threat. But… what if he shows up?”
“If Vir interferes, our plan could be in trouble.”
Blackbeard just laughed harder.
“ZEHAHAHA! Who? That Vir guy?”
“If he comes, even better! I’ve been itching to rip his head off!”
His grin was full of malice.
