“I did not think that it was that cold.” Peridot stated.

“Maybe because you are cold blooded.” Adrian stated with Frey cutely pinching him.

“Do not tease her like that.” Frey stated as she thought that Adrian was making fun of Peridot.

“Oh! He is right. I am a Ryujin which is technically still a dragon, and we are cold blooded.” Peridot replied with a light chuckle.

“Oh! Sorry, I assumed.” Frey added.

“I am touched. My bestie is now protecting me. Where have you been when I started this game?!” Peridot stated as she tried to take her mind off destroying the entire mountain that they are now in.

“I think that is enough for now. We entered a mountain suddenly when we exited the Path of Unrelenting Snow. If my sense of direction is correct, then we might be about a hundred kilometers away from the village we were previously.” Adrian stated.

“How is that possible?! We only took four minutes to traverse that entire path.” Frey added as she did not know this about the northern continent.

“They were probably paths made by the Ancient Frost High Elves when they were the guardians of the Winter Tree and the northern continent. If my guess is correct, there should not have been a way for people to freeze over in the path but that is the result of it being mismanaged. The Winter Tree might have been the being that created those paths as that kind of power is only possible for divine beings like it.” Adrian added as he could feel that the path used a dragon vein to make it work.

“Master, should we continue? We are still about two hours away from the place.” Charon asked.

“Do you guys want to rest, or should we push through?” Adrian asked.

“I think we should press on as this situation calls for urgency.” Frey replied.

“I agree as I am not just afraid of losing him but the number of warriors they took were a lot. It is clear that they were preparing for something big. The faster that we take action then the better we mitigate the danger that happens.” Peridot replied.

“How about you two?” Adrian asked.

“I can still go on! The cold is becoming stronger though as my flames are becoming weaker.” Soleil stated as the necessary flame elemental mana in the surroundings is quite thin.

“If my daughter is fine then I am fine as well. Although, I can feel the presence of an Elemental King, but it is incredibly faint. Do you feel anything, Soleil? Vayu stated.

“I cannot. The cold is making my senses fuzzy.” Soleil replied.

“Maybe I can sense it more since the wind element here is abundant compared to fire. My daughter is more sensitive than me when it comes to elemental kings. Still, if an elemental king is really involved then we must be prepared. Even we could not defeat one as they are literally forces of nature themselves.” Vayu stated.

“I just hope that it does not come to that.” Adrian stated but he feels that this situation is becoming more difficult.

Levin Cloud is trying to think of a way where he could free himself, but his body could not melt the ice binding it. The magic circle beneath his body is also making it difficult for him to move his mana. The Frost High Elf Mage Leader is definitely not a pushover when it comes to magic. She must have lived quite long to perfect magic like this in preparation for this moment.

“You should conserve your energy for the battle to come.” A voice different from the Winter Tree suddenly soke to Levin Cloud.

“Santa?” Levin Cloud suddenly blurted out.

Levin Cloud suddenly saw a large, bodied man that is wearing blue and white overalls. He had a bushy white beard and gentle eyes that could even make a crying toddler behave. He also has this vibe that he is this friendly neighborhood old man that will give you treats.

“Wrong being. We do get mixed up as we almost do look alike.” The old man stated with a laugh.

“He is the Frost Elemental King, Levin Cloud.” The Winter Tree stated.

“Wait?! So, Santa is real?! Sorry about that. It is nice to meet you, but you do not look like the large frozen being clinging to the Winter Tree though.” Levin Cloud stated.

Levin Cloud saw the countless frozen beings near the Winter Tree. Some were the frost elves, some were the humans, some monsters, but there was a being that looked large and out of place. The being looked like a narwhal and Levin Cloud concluded that this might be the Frost Elemental King as his mere frozen body shook the elements.

“That is my true form but being that large is not really a good thing in here. I need to conserve as much energy as possible as we are also fighting against the corruption.” The Frost Elemental King stated.

“The Winter Tree told me that the corruption is being held at bay though.” Levin Cloud stated.

“It is being held back but by the proud warriors of ice and snow that have been sacrificed through the ages.” The Frost Elemental King stated as numerous figures suddenly appeared behind him that are of different walks of life that lived in the northern continent.

“Why are they suddenly appearing now?” Levin Cloud stated as he suddenly felt an ominous vibe.

“It seems that we have underestimated the Frost Elves. They have allied with another dangerous being.” The Winter Tree stated.

“What do you mean?” Levin Cloud asked with great anxiety.

“The being that allied with the Frost Elves have activated something primal within not just us but also the contamination that we are keeping at bay.” The Frost Elemental King explained.

“When we created the spell that cursed the Frost Elves, we unknowingly cursed the contamination as well. What we did not expect is that the contamination is alive, but I should have known since it was taken from a dark god.” The Winter Tree stated.

“Please tell me that this is not our last bastion.” Levin Cloud stated but the Winter Tree and the Frost Elemental King could only smile wryly.

[You are in the presence of the Primordial Beast of Gluttony.]

“A beast since olden time has come and is stirring the contamination. It has managed to use the souls of the other Frost Elves as well. We are getting pushed back as the contamination now has more intelligent troops compared to before.” The Winter Tree stated as a loud bang could be heard from the area they are in.

“They have reached this place already?!” The Frost Elemental King exclaimed as he thought that it would take longer.

“Please take this, Levin Cloud.” The Winter Tree stated as it gave a frozen seed to Levin Cloud.

[You have obtained a Special Seasonal Seed from the Winter Tree.]

“What am I going to do with this?” Levin Cloud asked.

“Protect it for me as the people of the north will need it. It seems that it is time for me to perish despite it not being the prophesized date.” The Winter Tree stated as the ice walls finally got destroyed to reveal grotesque tar looking beings that took the form of Frost Elves.

“Wait! My friends will surely come. Maybe you can hold on.” Levin Cloud exclaimed as he knew the consequences to the northern continent if the Winter Tree dies early.

“I know it selfish, but we are left with no choice. We must not be tainted, and you must not replace us. This will be our last gift to you. Thank you for the stories that you shared with me… with us.” The Winter Tree stated as the beings behind Levin Cloud thanked him as well.

It seems that the beings behind him were all connected to the Winter Tree as their souls fused with it when they were sacrificed. The fact that their descendants are flourishing is all that they need. They bowed their heads to Levin Cloud as a sign of gratitude as what people of the northern continent do.

“Please take this as well. I know that you can deliver this to Alfheim.” The Frost Elemental King stated as he gave Levin Cloud a snowflake crystal.

[You have obtained the Legacy of the Frost Elemental King.]

“Use this to find my successor.” The Frost Elemental King stated.

“You will need to go now as you should not be here anymore.” The Winter Tree stated as it woke him up.

The last thing that Levin Cloud saw are the souls of the warriors that were sacrificed charging towards the army of contaminated beings. He woke up and saw the Frost High Elf Mage Leader activating a spell while a very skinny individual seems to be controlling the contamination.
