“I never felt the cold like that before. I was frozen alive, and I could feel the chill crawling in all parts of my body, but it is not shutting down. Thank you.” Frey stated as she is now released from the Permafrost.

Adrian summoned Saena to cast a wind that also generated heat to calm the nerves of all the people. Being in a frozen state for a long time might hurt the nerves of the human body. He wanted to make sure that everyone is able to move like when they are healthy.

“No need to thank us as we arrived too late. Levin Cloud seems to have been abducted. Am I correct?” Adrian stated as he looked at the group of wood elves that are warming up.

“Yes. Envoy Levin Cloud was taken by them while he was affected by Permafrost. He managed to save us by encasing us in numerous vines that he enchanted. We managed to see what transpired before the dome was covered with ice and snow.” The wood elf group leader stated.

“It seems you are holding up well.” Frey stated as she held Peridot’s hand.

“I want to rush over and find him, but I knew that I will only be a problem if I also get caught. Now is the time to keep calm and find him in a swift manner. If my anger clouds my judgement, then he might be subjected to even more danger.” Peridot stated.

Adrian is currently talking to the wood elves and even the warriors trapped to get as much information as he can. He should at least know what the enemy is capable of doing. Just as he is about to consult Vayu and Soleil about the findings, there were sudden movements he noticed in the forest.

“Sirius, catch that one.” Adrian coldly commanded as Sirius suddenly came out from his shadow like a rabid beast to chase after the being that he saw observing them from afar.

“There could be a scout left to check on what happens to our village. It must be a scout from them so that they are in the loop just in case the other village chiefs rally against them.” Village Chief Taran stated as she is also getting warmed up.

“Master, I have returned but there is sad news.” Sirius stated as he returned with a dead body of a Frost Elf Scout.

“He ingested poison and is in a state of dying.” Adrian stated as he could see that the Frost Elf Scout is still alive but is rapidly dying as his life force is almost emptied out.

“I cannot let Thanatos take your soul now as he already warned me from interrogating souls that just died. Saena, heal him to the point that he can live.” Adrian stated as Saena spread out her wing and released her healing winds towards the dying Frost Elf Scout.

“Master, the poison he ingested cannot be healed by me. It seems it is powerful enough to negate my own abilities. It must be a poison specifically designed to kill them without any chances of recovering.” Saena stated as she did heal the Frost Elf Scout, but the latter will still die in the end due to the poison.

“No worries, Saena. I just needed him healed to the point that he will not die from what I am going to do. I might affect causality but fighting time wraiths is much easier than looking for Levin Cloud and their hideout. Time Reversal.” Adrian stated in a cold and stoic tone.

The Frost Elf Scout that was dying from poison is suddenly subjected to Time Reversal. The poison that flowed to all parts of his body suddenly started to return back to the pill that he had eaten. Adrian immediately took the poison pill and fed it to Saena as ingesting poison will make her able to cure them as long as she has ingested and analyzed them. The Frost Elf Scout thought that he was going to die but he is miraculously alive.

“Now, tell us where you are hiding. I plan to slaugh… I mean rescue my best friend from all of you.” Adrian stated with a smile.

“You will never get anything from me! For the Frost Elves!” The Frost Elf Scout shouted as he suddenly took his dagger and aimed it directly to his chest.

“Time Stop.” Adrian stated immediately as if he was already prepared.

The dagger that is supposed to pierce the chest of the Frost Elf Scout stopped when it was just about a centimeter away from entering. The Frost Elf Scout could not believe that he is frozen when Frost Elves are known to be impervious to being frozen. This is a state of being frozen that Frost Elves are not immune to as it is being frozen in time.

“I asked you just to courteous. I would have let you live normally should you have pointed us where you took my best friend. Since you do not want to cooperate with us, I believe re-arranging your brain would be the best. I believe this is not a sight that children should see. Can Village Chief Taran escort them out of this place, please?” Adrian stated in a calm manner which made Village Chief Taran’s skin shiver.

Village Chief Taran already knew somethings about the demon that suddenly appeared before them. Frey often talked about a special someone that is a territory lord and the Champion of the Twin Gods. She also told Village Chief Taran that this special someone is a demon and a real leader that has great charisma.

Village Chief Taran thought that Frey is just blinded by rose tinted lenses as she was infatuated but the former now knows that this is not the case. The demon before him wore a warm expression when it came to those that he protects but shows a frigid expression to his enemies. Village Chief Taran could also feel the overwhelming charisma from the demon before him that she could only agree to his request as if she was his servant.

“Charon, make sure to get the information that we need but also make sure he is alive. We need him alive as a corpse should not be possible to manipulate. I think that is fine, Lord Thanatos?” Adrian stated as he looked at a direction where nothing is there.

Adrian is actually looking at Thanatos himself as he could clearly see him getting ready to reap the soul of the Frost Elf Scout. Adrian managed to salvage the situation and basically ‘revive’ the Frost Elf Scout which halted Thanatos’ advance. Since Adrian did not violate the rule that Thanatos has given him of tormenting fresh souls until they arrive at the afterlife, Thanatos nodded his head and left as the Frost Elf Scout will live to be a puppet until Adrian is satisfied.

“Were you talking to a God of Death?” Frey asked as she knows that Adrian can see them as he is the Champion of the Twin Gods.

“I was talking to Death itself. You should get to know him as he is a very chill guy. I will arrange a meeting sometime if you want.” Adrian replied.

“I think I should pass on that meeting with death for now. What are you doing to him?” Frey asked as Charon is now doing something to the Frost Elf Scout.

“I am having Charon possess the Frost Elf Scout to extract memories from him. Since I cannot take the information from his freshly dead soul, we must use the living soul for this. It might take time as some minds are difficult to possess even for Charon.” Adrian stated.

“I will help Soleil with restoring the village or else all of the work of the wood elves and Levin Cloud will be for nothing.” Peridot stated as she knew that she needed to focus her mind on something else while Adrian is trying to get information.

The only reason why Peridot is keeping it cool is due to the fact that she could see the face that Adrian is showing right now. She knew that this face means that he means business and would do anything to solve the problem they currently have. This is also the face she knows that has never failed them yet.

“While Charon is doing his work, can you tell me about the Frost Elf Leader? From what they described, he seems to be as strong as one of the Daemos Elders. You also said that he has an interesting weapon.” Adrian stated.

“He held a sword that emanated such deep cold energy, and he handled it with ease. I might even say that sword that he has might be a Semi-Transcendent weapon.” Frey speculated.

“Does this mean that they have attained a state equivalent to a demigod? Only demigods could use weapons of that tier as divine energy is not something normal beings could do. Another problem is that he might not be the only one.” Adrian stated.
