Chapter 6145 Cursed Spirit Blood Crow
“Don’t go! Just give me three days! Three days and you’ll be able to beat that bastard Fan Ji into the ground!”
“The world’s in crisis! A hero has to rise—if not you, then who?”
“Two days if you’re fast! Just find a hole to hide in. With that old cauldron around, what’s there to fear?”
Evilmoon kept chattering in Long Chen’s mind, trying to persuade him to stop and refine the blood moon runes.
In truth, Long Chen was very tempted. He also wished he could go back and kill Fan Ji.
But the Earth Cauldron’s warning rang in his ears: a large group of mid-stage Sovereign Lords was already scouring the region. Their position was very dangerous.
If Long Chen were on his own, he would’ve welcomed the fight. But now, he carried the burden of protecting the entire original devil race. He had no choice but to prioritize their safety and get as far away as possible.
Moreover, the Earth Cauldron had stopped providing him with guidance. According to it, guiding Long Chen at this stage would be worse than letting him grope forward on instinct.
With such a large group, they had to move with extreme caution. Long Chen constantly erased their aura and tracks, even setting up misdirection traps to throw off any pursuers.
Suddenly, a deep rumble echoed from the distance—one of his traps had been triggered. He had lured them toward the territory of a savage demonic beast. Now, the sound of battle erupted.
This was Sovereign Fall Land, where dangers existed everywhere. Even mid-stage Sovereign Lords might not walk out alive.
Abruptly, Long Chen raised a hand. “Stop.”
Everyone immediately froze as he signaled for silence.
He pulled Yue Xiaoqian beside him and concealed their auras. Then, cautiously, they crept forward. After scaling several peaks, they came upon a deep gorge.
At the bottom lay a massive divine bird, its body over three hundred meters long and dyed in blood-red feathers. Every feather had strange runes swirling on top of it.
Yue Xiaoqian’s face went pale. She covered her mouth. “It’s the primal chaos species—Cursed Spirit Blood Crow…”
She turned to Long Chen. With a trembling voice, she said, “We have to go—now. We cannot afford to offend it. It possesses terrifying curse energy. While I don’t know what variant of cursed bloodline this one has, creatures like this can fight across realms. Judging by its aura, it’s only a mid-stage Sovereign Lord, but it might be able to slay late-stage Sovereign Lords.”
Long Chen glanced at her alarmed expression and chuckled. “You really are a walking encyclopedia, Xiaoqian.”
Normally, his praise would’ve made her blush, but now she only grew more anxious. “Don’t joke. It’s a miracle you sensed it first. If it had unleashed its curse, we’d be finished. This is too dangerous—we have to retreat now!”
But Long Chen only rubbed his chin, eyes glinting wickedly. “I have a bold idea…”
…
A few hours later, a lone figure emerged from the wilderness—it was a fifth Heavenstage Sovereign Lord. He crouched by a stone, a smirk forming on his lips.
“You finally slipped. Gotcha…”
He closed his eyes, sensing the lingering aura. He quickly noticed what direction this aura was going.
A moment later, his figure flashed and sped off in pursuit, unaware that a translucent thread thinner than a hair was hidden in the air.
The thread didn’t give off any fluctuations, but it was surprisingly tough. When he flew into it, it instantly stretched.
As it stretched, this expert’s expression immediately changed. It was another trap.
BOOM!
The thread snapped, detonating a small explosive talisman.
“Tch. Crafty little fox. Just an alarm spell,” he muttered and accelerated.
He didn’t realize the trap was more than a warning. He still thought it merely gave Long Chen and his group a head start.
Suddenly, the skies rumbled. A stifling aura filled the gorge.
A divine bird cloaked in blood-red runes shrieked as it soared upward. Its murderous gaze locked onto the Sovereign Lord, and in an instant, it shot forward like a streak of blood.
Its talons came crashing down.
Its speed isn’t at all slower than my Kunpeng wings! Hidden in the distance, Long Chen jumped in shock.
He had assumed his wings gave him an easy escape route. But after witnessing the Cursed Spirit Blood Crow’s spatial-warping speed, he realized he didn’t have much chance of escaping.
“Damn bird, die!” the Sovereign Lord shouted. Five Sovereign manifestations burst forth behind him. Sovereign qi and divine energy surged as he swung his sword upward.
BOOM!
A terrifying power blasted him away. He cursed, “You damn bird, fuck off! I don’t have time to deal with you!”
He attempted to evade, but the Cursed Spirit Blood Crow shrieked and unleashed a bloody light from its wings. A crimson sun formed above it, releasing a storm of blood arrows.
“Stubborn thing! You want to die that badly? Fine, I’ll help you!”
He cursed and summoned a pill furnace. It expanded instantly and shielded him from the arrow storm.
“You idiot, that’s the Cursed Spirit Blood Crow. If you don’t go all-out now, you won’t even have a chance to in a bit!” Long Chen cursed in the distance.
When the Cursed Spirit Blood Crow flew up, Long Chen saw four huge eggs beneath it. Cracks had already formed along the shells.
They’re about to hatch…
That was why the crow had gone berserk. It was protecting its nest. And yet, the Sovereign Lord was still holding back. Just watching it was making Long Chen anxious.
Suddenly, the divine bird opened its mouth. A blood arrow far more condensed than before erupted from its beak and pierced straight into the pill furnace.
BOOM!
The Sovereign Lord spat out a mouthful of blood, his expression finally changing.
“This is curse energy!”
