“Wind God Sea Pavilion? You’re from the Wind God Sea Pavilion?” Cheng Ye and the others’ expressions shifted dramatically. They had clearly heard of the pavilion’s formidable reputation, and now they realized they had provoked an unimaginable calamity.
The azure-robed woman raised her hand, and a bronze tablet appeared. It was the size of her palm, with a smooth gemstone in its center. An elegant pavilion was engraved onto the gemstone.
With an icy expression, the azure-robed woman threatened, “If you want your entire family wiped out, go ahead and attack me!”
Cheng Ye and his group were visibly shaken. They had indeed kicked an iron board today by offending someone from the Wind God Sea Pavilion. However, after a tense moment, Cheng Ye’s face hardened, and he gritted his teeth.
“Hand over the Yin Yang Soul Calming Grass and you can go!” spat Cheng Ye.
The woman’s expression darkened. She hadn’t expected that the name of the Wind God Sea Pavilion wasn’t enough to scare them off. But with no other way to preserve her life, she slowly took out a little, hairy stalk of grass.
The emerald grass, covered in fine hair, gleamed with a captivating luster. Its scent immediately filled the air, calming the soul in an instant.
“That’s…” Long Chen’s eyes widened in surprise. The grass had started to flower; sesame seed-sized emerald flowers could be seen on it. This was the first time Long Chen had ever seen a Yin Yang Soul Calming Grass in bloom, and its potent fragrance explained why both the woman and Cheng Ye were so desperate for it.
After all, the value of a Yin Yang Soul Calming Grass was decided by its fragrance. If its fragrance spread over an area of three meters, it would be considered a top-grade specimen. Long Chen had a similar plant in his primal chaos space, whose scent reached ten meters, making it the best of the best.
However, this particular Yin Yang Soul Calming Grass was a very rare mutation, and its medicinal effect was inestimable. Even Long Chen found himself tempted. The Yin Yang Soul Calming Grass was essential for refining divine medicines to calm and heal the soul. The fact that it could heal the majority of spiritual wounds was enough to make people go crazy for it.
After all, damage to the soul was the most difficult to mend, and even a small injury could take years to heal. For powerful cultivators, it was even more challenging.
Since that was the case, most cultivators would rather cut off part of their bodies than risk damaging their souls. This Yin Yang Soul Calming Grass truly exceeded Long Chen’s expectations.
The azure-robed woman stared at the Yin Yang Soul Calming Grass with reluctance, but for the sake of survival, she had no choice but to give it up. She slowly extended her hand, and the grass floated towards Cheng Ye. His heart raced as he carefully reached for it, as if afraid he might damage it.
However, just as the grass was about to land in his hand, another hand snatched it away without any hesitation.
“This kind of treasure comes with immense karma. Child, this karma is too heavy for you to bear. Let me take it instead,” said Long Chen, smiling mischievously.
After fiddling with the grass, Long Chen casually tossed it into his primal chaos space.
Everyone was dumbstruck by Long Chen’s sudden appearance and audacity. He then turned to the azure-robed woman and shook his head.
“As for you, child… you’re far too naive,” Long Chen remarked. “You had stated your sect, but they still demanded the grass. Did you really think they would let you go and let you report to your superiors? How could you not see that?”
The woman’s expression darkened as she realized the truth. In an instant, her eyes flared with killing intent.
“Little fellow, you’re courting death! Hand over the Yin Yang Soul Calming Grass, or we’ll tear you to pieces!” roared Cheng Ye, finally snapping out of his shock and fury.
Long Chen merely shrugged and smiled. “It seems that you still don’t understand. If I want something, I’ll take it. Once I have it, I’ll never give it up. Besides, that grass was never yours to begin with. You snatched it from this lady, and I took it from you. That’s called karma.”
“Die!” Cheng Ye bellowed, charging at Long Chen with a club in hand. His speed was astonishing, and it was clear that he specialized in sneak attacks.
“Careful!” cried the azure-robed woman, but Cheng Ye was too fast for her warning to make any difference.
Yet, just as Cheng Ye’s club was about to strike Long Chen, it stopped a foot away from his head. Long Chen had caught it effortlessly, his hand now covered in dragon scales.
“What?!” The surrounding experts gasped in disbelief. They knew Cheng Ye’s power well, but Long Chen had stopped his attack with one hand as if it were nothing.
Even the azure-robed woman was shocked. She knew firsthand how powerful Cheng Ye was. She would have needed her full strength and technique to block his strike, yet Long Chen treated it like child’s play. Not even a single hair on his head went out of place.
Cheng Ye was the most shocked of all. He tried to pull his weapon free, but it didn’t budge. Sensing danger, he immediately let go and retreated.
“Oh, did you want this? Here you go,” Long Chen said mockingly.
The moment Cheng Ye retreated, Long Chen pushed with his hand, sending the club whistling toward its master. Caught in the middle of retreating, Cheng Ye hastily tried to catch his weapon. Unfortunately, Cheng Ye couldn’t resist Long Chen’s power, and the club slammed into his chest, piercing halfway through his body.
Blood sprayed everywhere as the weapon impaled him. If he hadn’t caught it, it would have torn him in half. Luckily, the part piercing his body was the handle. If it was the spiked head instead, he would have been shredded to pieces.
“Child, you have to be careful. Ckckck, you can’t even hold on to your own weapon. Go back and train properly!” Long Chen scolded him as if reprimanding a child.
It was only then that everyone realized this black-robed man, who seemed to be just a Sage King, was actually a terrifyingly powerful expert.
With a dark expression, Cheng Ye slowly pulled out his club. He spat out through gritted teeth. “You may be strong, but do you even know what it means to offend the Wang family?”
“Scram!” Long Chen couldn’t be bothered to waste more words with him.
Today, he had obtained a mutated Yin Yang Soul Calming Grass and was in an excellent mood. He didn’t even feel like killing these idiots.
“Alright, since you wish to be enemies with my Wang family, do you dare to leave your name?” Cheng Ye demanded, still seething.
“Listen well! My surname is Long, and my given name is Chen. But people call me Boss Long San. If you’re looking for trouble, feel free to come after me. Boss Long San has never been afraid of trouble,” said Long Chen disdainfully.
“Long Chen?” The azure-robed woman stared at him in disbelief when she heard his name.
