“Are you stupid? You wanted to escape but didn’t think to guard against me?” Long Chen’s figure slowly materialized, just as Evilmoon pierced Chi Feng’s chest.
Seeing this, the other experts who had attacked Long Chen tried to flee, but before they could act, multiple figures appeared, surrounding them. Three inner and three outer barriers sealed the entire area.
“You can’t escape. The patriarch has seen through all your betrayals!” a four-vein Emperor shouted.
This was all part of Long Chen’s plan. He had deliberately told Chu He to announce his seclusion, knowing these traitors would act the moment they believed the patriarch was unavailable.
Perhaps it was the endless confinement in this place that dulled their minds, or maybe their constant dealings with the brainless Stone Spirit and Gold Lion races had made them forget how to think strategically. To Long Chen, their schemes were embarrassingly amateurish.
Even Chi Feng—a two-vein Emperor and their city guard—revealed his incompetence by immediately fleeing without even attempting to defend himself. Although defending would have been useless, it was still a pathetic display.
As everyone was trapped, the experts of Tianyu City stood in stunned silence, unsure of what was unfolding.
With a smooth motion, Long Chen pulled Evilmoon from Chi Feng’s body. The flame of life in Chi Feng was snuffed out, and Evilmoon devoured his blood soul.
Suddenly, one of the elders of Tianyu City appeared beside Li Yunhua, gripping her throat tightly.
“If you don’t want her to die, open up a path for me!” shouted the elder.Li Yunhua and the others were still in shock, their minds blank from the sudden revelation of traitors among them. As a result, Li Yunhua couldn’t even react to this sudden attack. The elder’s nails dug into her skin, drawing blood.
“Li Yichun, have you gone mad?! She’s one of your direct descendants!” shouted one person.
This elder was one of Li Yunhua’s ancestors. For him to use her as a hostage shocked and enraged everyone.
“Shut your mouth! Open up a path, or I’ll kill her!” the elder snarled, his voice filled with desperation.
“You truly won’t repent until death,” Long Chen said, placing Evilmoon on his shoulder and slowly approaching the elder.
“Don’t come closer! I’ll kill her if you do!” the elder yelled, panic rising in his voice.
“With me here, you can’t kill her,” Long Chen replied, shaking his head.
“Stop! I swear I’ll do it!” the elder screamed, his voice trembling.
Everyone’s hearts pounded. They could see the fear in the elder’s eyes, and the possibility of him killing Li Yunhua was very real. Yet, they were unwilling to let him escape.
With fury in her eyes, Li Yunhua spat out, “How could I have such a disgrace for an ancestor? Long Chen, kill him. I’d gladly give my life to rid Tianyu City of this shameless traitor.”
“Shut your mouth!” the elder roared.
Long Chen’s expression was flat as he continued his slow, deliberate advance. On the other hand, the elder was trembling with fear. His hand flared with energy, intending to only hurt Li Yunhua and bluff over. But before he could do so, a black streak of light severed his arm.
The elder screamed, and in his panic, swung his other hand toward the back of Li Yunhua’s head. However, another black streak of light intercepted and severed that arm as well.
The crowd was stunned into silence. After all, Long Chen’s movements were too fast for them to track. They barely saw Long Chen’s shoulder sway slightly, and that elder already lost both his arms.
“Not bad. Using qi to wield the saber!” praised Evilmoon.
Long Chen hadn’t physically swung his saber. Instead, he had unleashed a blade of Saber Qi, but it was so fast and precise that no one had even noticed it.
Long Chen smiled, pleased with his control. This was a basic skill he had mastered back in the Qi Condensation realm, but after years of cultivation, his mastery had reached a new height. What was once a simple technique had now become an art form.
“You still have two legs and a head. Keep trying. You have at least three chances left,” Long Chen mocked, stopping about three hundred meters from the elder.
The elder’s face filled with despair. Only now did he understand that Long Chen’s power was far beyond his comprehension. They had been completely fooled by his appearance.
The onlookers stared at Long Chen in disbelief. How could a Sage King possess such terrifying strength? Was his cultivation realm even real?
Gritting his teeth, the elder spat, “I admit defeat, but I don’t believe you dare to kill me. Master Yiming has already taken control of the entire Stone Spirit race and can take over Tianyu City at any time. I’m his most capable subordinate. If you kill m—”
Before he could finish, Long Chen’s saber flashed, and the elder’s head flew through the air, his words cut short along with his life.
“Since when are there so many ‘ifs’?” Long Chen remarked, shaking his head as he turned to the remaining traitors.
The traitors all turned ashen, trembling in the face of death. Suddenly, one of them collapsed to his knees, but before he could speak, Evilmoon pierced his chest.
“There’s no need to beg. We’re all busy, so go in peace!” Long Chen said as he pulled Evilmoon from the lifeless body.
“Please don’t kill us! We were deceived! We beg you!” the other traitors shouted, kowtowing desperately. They had abandoned all dignity in the face of death.
“Long Chen, perhaps we should imprison them first…” suggested an elder. He was one of Chu He’s trusted aides and the new city guard.
Without a word, Long Chen swung Evilmoon in a wide arc, killing the remaining traitors in a single stroke.
“You…” That elder’s face darkened, his expression souring instantly.
