Night of the Broken Gliph

Pfft! 

He felt a warm sensation on his shoulder right before darkness consumed him.

The next second, he was wrapped in red light and vanished on the spot.

Pfft!

The audience soon saw another teenager get thrown out of the tower. At the same time, Mute, who watched the competition silently since the start, stood up from his seat abruptly, disappearing from everyone’s sight.

The moment his peer was eliminated, the second glipher banged into the wooden blue wolf’s monstrous face. Instantly, disdain vanished from his face and was replaced by disbelief!

Subsequently, the red bird that left a hole in the eliminated disciple’s shoulder turned into a red shadow and dashed after the retreating glipher! Yes, the grade three gliph weapon she talked about was the red bird’s beak that Chui Yim crafted, which was the scariest part of this puppet. Its beak was carved with gliphs; the Vanguard Soldier gliph that increased its sharpness, the Piercer gliph that could break all minerals, and the Unbreakable gliph—literally taking after the name, all working together to greatly enhance the penetrating power of the beak. 

Both of Kam Chin Kee’s puppets had different purposes. The blue wolf was a powerful, sturdy puppet, with its face being the sturdiest part so it could block attacks for Kam Chin Kee while still acting as a strong weapon in short-range battles. 

On the other hand, the red bird had fewer mechanisms and was only half the weight of the blue wolf. However, this allowed the red bird to move rapidly, and the scariest part of its body was the beak Chui Yim created. When Kam Chin Kee inserted energliph into it, it could pierce almost everything. 

With the red bird and blue wolf complementing each other, Kam Chin Kee was at least thirty per cent stronger than he was back in the Forbidden Forest. 

This was the ability of a puppeteer. From the start, these gliphers should never have gone against a puppeteer face to face as their lack of knowledge regarding puppetry already lost them the upper hand. Moreover, it was the first time they came across this unfamiliar style of battle. 

This all gave birth to the frightening scene of Kam Chin Kee defeating almost every participant of Apex Temple single-handedly with a couple of puppets. 

Kam Chin Kee stood at the same spot with the same bashful smile on his face. The red bird on his shoulder stared at Yuen Yau with its lifeless eyes while the blue wolf crouching next to Kam Chin Kee looked as if it would swallow Yuen Yau the next second. 

These puppets had vivid appearances that made it difficult for Yuen Yau to wrap his mind around the fact that these were lifeless puppets controlled totally by one man. 

The moment Kam Chin Kee started fighting, everyone in the arena focused on him. His puppetry was enough for him to start a whole new sect! Lam Chun in his red seat seemed unfazed, but there was a complicated look in his eyes. Nobody knew what he was thinking about. 

Yuen Yau couldn’t believe what just took place. As mentioned earlier, Yuen Yau’s peers were people that Yuen Yau knew he couldn’t simply defeat even if he gave his all, and they were just eliminated within the blink of an eye. 

He glared at the cheerful boy in front of him as if he was a monster, not daring to make a single move. The lifeless stares of the puppets made beads of cold sweat trickle down his forehead. 

Swoosh…

The instant the red bird disappeared from Kam Chin Kee’s shoulder, Yuen Yau immediately drew a gliph at a crazy speed.

It was the Three Lives Gate! However, the gliph immediately shattered and he saw Kam Chin Kee with his hands behind his back. All ten fingers were hidden beneath Kam Chin Kee’s sleeves as if they had disappeared; he was moving so fast that others could no longer see his fingers! With his current ability, controlling two puppets at the same time was his limit. 

Boom! 

The blue wolf crushed the Three Lives Gate once again while the red bird that missed its first attack was prepared to attack again! Flushing red with anxiety, Yuen Yau suddenly looked up with determination to gamble it all! 

He ignored the pouncing blue wolf and attacking red bird and drew a gliph of a huge arm. Yuen Yau’s eyes were as red as a beast fighting for its life. The gliph soon took form, and a lifelike giant arm appeared out of thin air! 

This was his personal gliph, Unbreakable Wisdom King! 

And now, the Wisdom King was angry! 

The huge arm that carried Yuen Yau’s anger was so huge that its shadow shrouded Kam Chin Kee entirely. However, he still wore a smile on his face, acting as if he knew nothing about the arm above his head. 

Yuen Yau looked excited. Victory is in my hands! Now that the red bird has dropped to the ground and the blue wolf has fallen to the ground like it lost control…

Lost control? 

Bang. 

With a heavy strike to his head, it was Yuen Yau that lost consciousness instead. The huge arm above Kam Chin Kee disappeared too. 

“Hehe, what an interesting battle.” Kam Chin Kee waved his right hand and a fist-sized wooden wolf fell into his palm. During the crucial moment, Kam Chin Kee cut the blue wolf’s control with determination and changed to three small wooden wolves instead. They passed through the crushed gates of Three Lives Gate and knocked Yuen Yau unconscious. Kam Chin Kee took the victory as well as Yuen Yau’s blood intent. 

Finally, Yuen Yau was sent out of the tower. 

“Such a huge amount of blood intent! I’ll be able to reach the fourth floor without needing to collect more!” Kam Chin Kee said happily. At the same time, he admired Yuen Yau’s leadership and the unity of their institution. Yuen Yau was capable of competing with the other talents, but he thought of his peers and wanted to help them succeed when he could have already reached the next floor on his own. This was something that the Cloud Palace outer sect would never be able to compete with. 

Feeling the ample blood intent inside him, Kam Chin Kee jogged to catch up with Chui Yim and the rest.
