Material space and Void space are two fundamental aspects of existence that are intrinsically dependent on each other.
Without the existence of Material space, Void space cannot exist. Conversely, without Void space, Material space would be unable to repair itself when damaged by external forces.
For example, if someone were to exert an immense force to shatter Material space, a Void rift would appear, leading into Void space. However, without Material space, it would be impossible to open a Void rift or access Void space, as the very existence of Void space is entirely dependent on Material space.
When the Tomb of the Ancient collapsed due to the overwhelming aftermath of Azroth, Eldrakar, and Baphomet’s appearance, its Void space was also obliterated—devoured by Nothingness.
The destruction of the tomb was the very reason why Azroth had thrown Baphomet and Eldrakar into its Void space.
As the tomb crumbled and its Material space ceased to exist, its Void space also ceased to exist, making it nearly impossible for even Eldrakar—a Void Dragon—to escape.
For him to escape, he needed to open a Void rift leading to the Material space of Utopia. However, with the complete destruction of the tomb’s Material space, its Void space was consumed by Nothingness. And within Nothingness, it was utterly impossible to create a Void rift or escape.
Just as Void space relies on Material space, Material space also depends on Void space.
Without the presence of Void space, whenever Material space is damaged, it would be immediately devoured by Nothingness.
Only due to the existence of Void space can the laws of the world repair the damaged Material space before it is swallowed by Nothingness.
Now that Evan had become a Rank Four Core Evolver, he was able to wield a portion of Void law. However, even with this power, he had no means of completely annihilating Material space to the point that it would be consumed by Nothingness.
To achieve such a feat, he wouldn’t just have to obliterate both Material space and Void space, but he would also need to destroy the very rules that shape the world—the fundamental laws that immediately activate whenever an unexpected event, such as space break, occurs.
The moment space break happens, the laws of the world instantly begin repairing it to prevent damage to reality.
Even for a Peak Rank Six Core Evolver, causing damage to reality itself is an extraordinarily difficult task, as the Rules of the World are immensely powerful.
High-level Core Evolvers are capable of causing catastrophic devastation over vast areas—spanning millions of kilometers. However, given enough time, the world would gradually repair all damage.
The destruction caused by such powerful beings may take tens, thousands, or even millions of years to be restored, but eventually, the world will repair itself.
Yet, the entity Evan had summoned was merely at the peak of Rank Four, far weaker than even a powerful Peak Rank Five Core Evolver, let alone a Rank Six.
However—
“It’s… fucking insane…”
These were the only words Sylvan could utter as he stared in sheer disbelief at the ruined space before Evan.
When the strange entity that Evan summoned had closed its mouth, as if merely taking a bite, it didn’t just destroy Material and Void space—it had also annihilated the fundamental laws of the world.
In simpler terms, the dark expanse before Evan was now flooded with the concept of Nothingness, as if the space, the Core Evolvers, and everything else that once existed there had been erased from reality itself.
Even a Peak Rank Six Core Evolver would struggle to accomplish such a thing, making the shock that Sylvan felt even greater than when he had first met Evan.
“Who… No! What in the world is that thing?”
Sylvan’s voice trembled as he gazed upon the nearly one-hundred-meter-tall gorilla-like creature with its disturbingly withered old woman’s face. A chilling shudder coursed down his spine.
Like Sylvan, Evan too was in a state of shock.
However, the reason behind Evan’s shock was completely different.
Unlike Sylvan, who was reeling from the sheer destruction he had witnessed, Evan had just realized something truly insane about his Ruler’s Authority.
‘No… I need to speak with Anastasia to confirm my suspicion…’
Evan tried to steady his racing heart, but no matter how much he attempted to suppress it, the realization that had just dawned upon him was simply too overwhelming.
He turned his gaze toward the creature standing behind him, its monstrous grin spreading like a demon’s, as a storm of thoughts surged through his mind. Especially certain details regarding his skill—Voidborn Invocation.
‘Summons an entity from the deepest and most forgotten part of the Void.’
‘The creature is unstable and exists temporarily.’
‘Its presence harms reality.’
He muttered about a few details of the skill inwardly.
But the part that struck him the most—
“Deepest and most forgotten part of the Void…”
Even back when he first obtained the Voidborn Invocation skill after breaking through to Rank Three, he had felt as though he had encountered these words before.
Yet, no matter how hard he tried, he could not recall where he had heard them.
He still couldn’t remember, though he suspected these words were related to Azroth.
But as he pondered over the insane realization that had just emerged in his mind, he knew—he was on the verge of uncovering something crucial.
‘F*ck it… I was planning to toy with these people for a while and test my newfound strength after reaching Rank Four, but now… I just want to return and talk to Anastasia.’
Evan’s eyes flashed coldly as he shifted his gaze toward Gustav and the nearly one thousand survivors who had narrowly escaped the entity’s attack.
Slowly, his shadow began to move—expanding mid air like a black carpet and merging seamlessly with the pitch-black walls of the Shadow World that had enclosed everyone.
And then—
“Tear them apart.”
As Evan’s chilling command echoed through the air, countless deep purple, burning eyes snapped open across the enclosed, blackened walls of the Shadow World.
