The Firelands spread out before them, a dangerous and awe-inspiring region in the heart of the land of Asura. Active volcanoes dotted the landscape, with rivers of molten rock carving their way through the terrain. Although it was a hazardous place, the Firelands remained a popular hunting destination for Asuras, boasting some of the toughest creatures in the land for red-stage Asura warriors.
After taking a moment to assess their surroundings, Helia suggested, "Let's find a good place to set up camp before we start hunting."
The group had decided to venture further into the Firelands on foot to find a suitable location, and fortunately, they weren't far from their current spot as they could sense the presence of red-stage beasts in the area. As they walked, the rugged terrain beneath their feet crunched and crumbled, sending small rocks and pebbles rolling down the slopes.
Lia and Helia took turns explaining to the others about the creatures they may encounter in the Firelands.
"This place is famous for Fire Salamanders, which are known for their fierce and aggressive nature," Lia began. "They pose a formidable challenge even for experienced warriors. However, I think they would be less difficult for Layla compared to Nyla, since Layla is at the peak of the red stage."
Helia continued, "Moreover, as they mature, they can grow up to three meters long and stand one meter tall. Their distinctive red bodies are adorned with intricate white markings. They're a beautiful yet fearsome sight."
With the knowledge about the fire salamanders explained by Helia and Lia, the group cautiously navigated the treacherous terrain. Although they were not too worried about encountering the beasts, as they had two silver stage warriors and Rio who was now the second strongest member of the group, surpassing Helia in strength.
The air was thick with the acrid smell of sulfur, and the intense heat from the lava flows was almost unbearable. Rio and the others were already sweating profusely from the scorching heat.
Despite the harsh conditions, the Firelands was a prime hunting ground for red-stage creatures, making it an ideal place to advance to the next stage quickly.
As they continued their journey, the sweltering heat of the area caused beads of sweat to form on their foreheads.
Upon seeing Rio perspiring, Layla's innate loving and caring nature surfaced. She tenderly wiped the beads of sweat from his forehead with her delicate handkerchief, and Rio couldn't help but feel grateful for her presence.
As he gazed at her serene and loving face, his heart swelled with warmth from her gentle touch. He was torn between expressing his gratitude and asking her to stop, not wanting to trouble her over something so trivial.
The boy soon remembered that this was the same girl from his childhood, the one who always looked after him as if he were a small child. Her affection, like a comforting breeze, reminded him of the deep love they shared, simple and pure.
Nyla and Helia couldn't help but observe Layla's tender care for Rio. They had seen her earlier fussing over him, fixing his clothes, and brushing off the dust after they teleported as if he was a little child who couldn't take care of himself.
At that moment, they hadn't thought much of it. But now, watching her gently wipe the sweat from his forehead with the devotion of a personal maid or a mother, Layla's affectionate concern for Rio was undeniably evident.
As the group continued to walk, they discovered a landscape where the terrain gradually became more mountainous. The area was adorned with lush, green trees that cast their shadows on the ground, providing a natural, cooling shade in the sweltering heat. The picturesque scene was further enhanced by the presence of majestic Fire Salamanders roaming in the distance.
The creatures were at a safe distance, allowing the group to prepare for their hunt. Lia scanned the surroundings and made a decision.
"Let's set up camp here for now, in the shaded area," she suggested. "It's best to rest and hydrate before we begin our hunt."
"Awesome suggestion, Big sister!" Nyla exclaimed with a cheerful nod. The girl was already feeling exhausted in the scorching heat of the Firelands and saw Lia as a goddess in Asura form for coming up with the idea.
With the ideal spot chosen, Nyla and Helia sprang into action, taking out essential items such as blankets and mattresses. They carefully arranged them under the protective canopy of the trees, creating a temporary home base for the day. This would be their place to rest and hydrate before venturing out to face the Fire Salamanders that awaited them in the wild terrain.
The serene atmosphere and the lively presence of everyone around made the area feel warm and welcoming. They could see their hunting targets in the distance, but the beasts were far enough away for them to take a moment to prepare themselves by hydrating and devising a plan if needed.
The simple act of setting up camp, sharing water, and soaking in the beauty of their surroundings filled them with happiness. Rio particularly enjoyed the feeling of being surrounded by his loving wives and Helia in the wilderness. It didn't even feel like they were there for hunting; it felt more like a picnic.
Lia didn't have to arrange anything, as Helia, Nyla, and Layla took care of all the work. Rio went into the distance to find some firewood so they could heat the food to eat. While fresh food was good, hot food was even better. Returning with an armful of wood, he started a fire while Lia took out utensils and ingredients to prepare their meal.

[SnowNote]
It's just the calm before the storm. I can't skip to that storm without going through these scenes. Otherwise, I would have. I am already keeping the details short to avoid explaining them in depth.
