My Soul card is a Reaper

Chapter 713: An offer from the world’s strongest guild

Almost three weeks later;

On Planet Isa;

A giant Chimera, with the head of a lion, the body of a rhino, the legs of a horse, and the wings of an eagle, was seen falling to the ground.

Azzy, who had his mask on, was following it behind and eventually taking over it, caught it in mid-air with his one hand and stored it directly into his dimension bag before landing on the top of a grassy hill.

Rynmere was waiting for him, looking all tranced and clapping in awe. With a slow, deliberate clap, he bowed slightly, "Your prowess is unmatched, Master. Truly, those rumors don’t do you enough justice."

Azzy shrugged his shoulders indifferently, "it is just a Tier-90 beast. I have hunted stronger ones."

"Only master could boldly say that a Tier-90 beast is nothing," Rynmeres eyes shone with reverence and he couldn’t help but add, "Master, you are beyond incredible."

Azzy, however, sighed inwardly, thinking, "If only the monsters in this Angel realm had spirit cores, I could have added them to my army. But, it is just nothing but another undead skeleton I got. Well, atleast, I can get another million grace shards from this quest."

Together, they returned to Astrael Planet’s Xarx City, where they were residing at the moment.

However, as it is Everlasting Guild’s business, they separated for a bit. Azzy went to the guild to submit the quest’s proof and also sold the entire corpse for another 530K grace shards to the guild manager.

With this, Azzy now managed to save 50 million grace shards overall and he intended to quit this adventurer business.

Since the manager helped him indirectly, Azzy was about to speak to him but the guild manager instead asked him to follow to his office in order to speak of an urgent matter.

Azzy went with him but found a stranger waiting for them in his office.

With a swift scan, Azzy sensed that this stranger was in the intermediate stage of the Supreme realm. But, most importantly, it is a pure bloodline Angel and not a Nephilim.

Of course, it wasn’t Azzy’s first time to meet one. So, he didn’t feel any surprise and calmly took his seat as the guild manager introduced the new client.

"Mr. Gary, this is the deputy leader of Z guild, Mr. Oriniel."

"Z guild?" Azzy’s eyes widened for a moment. "That Z guild? The number one guild?" He wondered aloud.

The stranger chuckled as he crossed his legs, "For the past few weeks, we heard a lot about you, Mr. Gary. Just as we heard in the rumors, you are indeed a high-born Angel with a Tier-99 soul realm. Our guild is interested in hiring you for a quest."

"A Quest?" Azzy wanted to quit this business and someone is offering him a quest? His first thought was to reject it outrightly but then his gut feeling told him, "Why not just listen to their proposal?"

Hence, he asked about the quest right away without mincing his words, "I need the details and the reward you are offering. And please don’t be roundabout."

The stranger explained straightforwardly, too, "It’s a dungeon that appeared out of nowhere on Planet Roca. His name was Baphomet. We don’t know much about our enemy, except that he is supposedly an ancient outer god who invaded Elysium long ago and got sealed. While his current strength is gauged to be in the ascendant realm due to the seals, his dark magic is still the worst nemesis of a pureblood Angel, and even you who were closest to becoming an Ascendant (rank-10) would face a high risk of death; if you fight him alone, I mean.

Apart from me, five others, including our Guild leader, will be participating, all of them are above Tier 90. Then, there are our two clients who actually brought this quest to our doorstep. One is said to be at Tier-94, and the other one is an Ascendant who will act as the team leader for this quest. Lord Rheamis would be taking care of the enemy while the others act as mere support if I had to be blunt.

The reward would be 5 million grace shards for participation and one-tenth share of all treasures we find in the dungeon. The dungeon’s entrance will be closed except for full moon days and that too only after midnight. So, we would only have six hours at most to complete the quest or be imprisoned there. What happens after that, we aren’t sure."

"Hmm…"

As Azzy seriously pondered on the quest because it is a demigod and supposedly a former deity, just like Jupiter but in his real flesh instead of a host, Lantern, the manager, spoke, "Mr. Gary, personally, I feel you should sit this one out."

"Lantern…" the stranger furrowed his brows in displeasure. He looked at the manager like he was about to cut him down with a sword.

The manager, however, apologetically said, "Mr. Gary is our guild’s strongest elite. We even received many offers during the last week willing to invest in our guild. If anything happens to him, we will face tremendous losses. Moreover, I don’t feel like he is greatly needed for this quest, as you claimed earlier. You have an ascendant angel in the team. The risk is too high as you have also mentioned."

"I know that," The stranger nodded in agreement but then said, "However, the choice is entirely up to the adventurer. You, as a mediator, shouldn’t express any of your personal views on this matter, regardless of whether you are trying to use him to get investors or not."

Azzy was certainly unhappy with the guild manager’s intentions. Not to mention, he already planned on leaving after this. Hence, after quick thinking and consulting with the Reaper regarding this Baphomet, he said to the stranger, "Mr. Oriniel, I just need one other thing from what you are offering."

"What is it? "

"Independency. I don’t follow your team leader’s orders or whatever. I will act on my own, which definitely includes kill-stealing the main target, and I want everyone to put up with it."

Oriniel: "…"

Lantern: "…"

Needless to say, both of them went speechless at Azzy’s unexpected demand.

After a while;

Azzy returned to his residence.

*Creak*

"Rynmere, we ha… Hmm?" Azzy spotted a familiar-looking middle-aged man who was having tea; Rynmere stood before him with his arms crossed forward like a servant.

"Master, welcome back." Rynmere smiled big with a bow, letting out a sigh of relief.

"Mr. Steelclash, what are you doing here again?" Azzy’s facial expression hardened.

Yes, it wasn’t Liam, the one Azzy finds annoying. It was his client from three weeks ago.

"Hello again, Mr. Azrael."
