178 Treat Him Well
“What do you want?”

Sun Bin blocked Qiao Yue’s way. His face was red, and he seemed very angry.

“I specially transferred here, hoping to compete properly with you.”

Qiao Yue nodded. “I know.”

“I was very attentive in class just now. I even answered questions.”

Qiao Yue choked. She reached out her hand and patted Sun Bin on the shoulder. “All the best then?”

She didn’t understand why Sun Bin had come to find her.

“So, may I trouble you to study hard and not make a joke of our bet?”

Qiao Yue nodded.

She had participated in some foreign mathematics competitions before, so she understood how important these academic competitions were to students.

Sun Bin’s “male pride” was at stake in his bet with her. She understood how important the bet was to him.

During the second period, Qiao Yue seemed to be a lot more serious. She sat up straight with her book opened and took notes from time to time.

Actually, she wasn’t really listening to the lecture. She was browsing the school forum.

She was looking through old posts from former students, hoping to find something about her mother. But after searching for a long time, she found nothing.

After class, a girl suddenly ran in and handed a letter to Qiao Yue.

Qiao Yue was confused.

Hadn’t she become a scumbag after she rejected Xiaoxiao’s declaration of love? Why were people still sending her love letters?

Qiao Yue was going to throw away the love letter, but Xu Hao patted her and said, “Don’t throw that away. She is no ordinary girl.”

Qiao Yue frowned. How extraordinary could she be?

“Her name is Bo Ning. She’s a well-known aloof goddess, even more popular than Xiaoxiao. She used to have short hair, so everyone thought she was a boy. A few girls even pursued her. Later, when she grew her hair, everyone realized that she was really pretty, but she doesn’t seem to be interested in men. Brother, take care.”

Qiao Yue frowned. Was this person taking her route?

Also, Qiao Yue didn’t think she liked women.

But she suddenly had a thought.

This Bo Ning, could she have found out that Qiao Yue was a girl?

Qiao Yue opened the letter and found an invitation inside, asking her to attend a birthday party next Tuesday.

Qiao Yue was indeed not interested in that kind of birthday party. She had never liked these occasions where the rich and powerful gathered to drink and mingle, let alone for a person she didn’t really know.

But the last line of the invitation caught her attention. It said, “I know a secret about Qiao Jing. I’ll tell you if you come.”

A secret about Qiao Jing?

Qiao Jing’s cold face popped up in Qiao Yue’s mind.

Well, she was curious now.

Their classes for non-elective subjects ended at two o’clock in the afternoon. The rest of the day was for electives.

Harvey Academy was different from ordinary schools. In addition to required credits, students must also acquire elective credits. The elective subjects were mainly related to the arts.

Qiao Yue was not good at these.

She could do business, martial arts, and had some academic achievements, but she knew nothing about the arts.

Her experience surviving deserted islands turned her away from things that evoke feelings. Perhaps it was also because she didn’t have any talent.

Therefore, she chose a relatively simple musical instrument, the marimba, which was basically a xylophone.

The marimba was a percussion instrument which made sounds when struck. It didn’t seem to require other skills.

Qiao Yue came to the music room with a heavy heart.

She saw Qiao Xin in the music room.

Qiao Xin pulled a long face when she saw Qiao Yue. “Why are you here?”

Qiao Xin had learned many other instruments before. She only picked up the marimba because it was relatively simple and she could get high marks.

“A tone-deaf country bumpkin from a mountain village. No wonder he chose the simplest instrument.” Qiao Xin mumbled.

Qiao Yue didn’t mind Qiao Xin’s words. Instead, she went to her seat, took the mallets and struck the marimba a few times.

The few notes she played made her recognize that she was indeed a little tone-deaf.

It seemed like she wouldn’t be able to get any high marks in the elective subjects. She’d better focus on the science subjects.

Suddenly, the music room fell silent. A petite and beautiful female teacher appeared on stage, making the students below stage sigh in admiration.

This teacher was too good-looking.
