My Goalkeeping System

Chapter 535: Getting Ready For Real Sociedad

Soon after their match against Losepeno City, or rather the next day after the match, Dave finally got to talk to Shinobu just like he wanted to and after he was done with that, he decided that he didn't have any problem with her being the first member of his staff.

He also didn't seem to have any problem with her moving as he believed that would be more efficient. So, with that decision made Shinobu moved in with them the next day.

"Finally, I don't have to take calls regarding your appointments and send you messages about them, before calling you to make sure you don't forget." Clark breathed a sigh of relief as he slowly dragged himself down from the couch to find comfort on the floor.

He was currently in Dave's home with Dave sitting beside him, an awkward smile on his face.

"I didn't know it was draining you that much."

Getting that response, Clark slowly turned to him before quickly sitting up on the couch.

"Well, I wouldn't say it was draining me, I don't mind helping you, even if it means doing things I'm not supposed to do." He disclosed. "I just thought it was about time you had some staff, and where else to start than the most essential."

"Oh, I see."

"Next you might need to hire a maid."

"I spoke to Emma about that and she said she doesn't need a maid." Dave retorted.

"Oh, I guess just a cook will do then." He shrugged. "She'll still need someone to help her around the house though."

"I know but she just doesn't like the idea of having a maid around the house."

"I guess she enjoys suffering."

"What was that?"

Clark instantly froze, there was no mistaking that voice, and just as the door was pushed open, Emma could be seen standing just outside.

Feeling betrayed, Clark turned to his friend, his right hand slightly folded as he wove it back and forth.

"Why didn't you tell me your wife was at home?"

"I didn't?" Dave responded, turning away from him to hide the amusement on his face.

"No, you did not." Clark retorted.

"Well, I mean, look at her." The goalkeeper shrugged as he turned to his wife.

Clark followed his gaze to Emma, who was slowly dragging her feet toward them while trying not to appear as though she was having any trouble.

"There's no way she can go anywhere outside the house without me, so if I'm here, she's most likely here."

Feeling defeated, Clark let out a sigh before crashing down on the couch.

"I guess you make a good point."

"I can't go anywhere without you, huh."

Emma had gotten to the two now and was staring at her husband, a subtle smile plastered on her face.

"But I guess it's the truth." She smiled.

"It's really nice to see you." Dave smiled back.

Looking at the two, Clark had only one thing to say as he partly covered his face with his left hand.

"Too bright."

The smile on Emma's face grew wilder as she let out a little chuckle.

"You're saying that like this is the first time we're seeing each other today."

"Yeah, that's because I wasn't talking to you." Dave retorted.

"Huh?"

The smile on her face suddenly vanished and confusion took over.

"I was obviously talking about my boy."

Ignoring her sudden change in expression, he reached for her stomach bump, softly caressing it with both of his hands.

"How's my w-ovely little boy doing today?" His voice was cheerful and playful as he brought his face closer to the bump. "Doing wonderful I see."

He seemed to be enjoying the current situation a bit too much, as he would steal glances at Emma who was just standing there now, trying to force a smile on her face.

"It won't be long before we start having our bonding training sessions which mummy won't be invited to, obviously."

<Wouldn't want him becoming complacent like a certain someone>

Ignoring Catherine's comment, he placed a kiss on his unborn child before resting back on the couch, looking up at Emma.

"What were you saying, Emma?" He asked, sounding quite nonchalant.

The forced smile came crashing down soon afterwards as she turned away from him with a scoff.

"Dickhead."

She was planning to rest beside him on the couch but now she was storming toward the stairs.

"I love you too."

Even that wasn't enough to stop her, and so Dave watched her as she dragged her feet upstairs, a warm smile on his face.

"You seem like you enjoyed that a bit too much."

"Maybe." The goalkeeper responded as he turned to his friend.

"You should try not to give her a hard time in her current condition."

"I know but it's funny when the smallest things trip her off these days. On a normal day, she would just laugh that off."

"Yeah, right, dude." Clark shook his head with a sigh as he slowly got up on his feet. "You should try carrying what she's carrying and see if the smallest things won't get under your skin."

"If only that was possible." Dave shrugged.

"Trust me, if it was possible, you wouldn't want it." He said turning toward the exit. "Anyway, I have to be on my way now, I have a lot of stuff to take care of tomorrow."

"Alright then, I'll see you later."

Clark waved him goodbye afterwards before exiting the room through the door.

<You know I can make it possible>

'Huh? What are you talking about?'

<Well, you were talking about carrying what she was carrying, I can make it possible>

'You can huh.'

He sat there for a couple of seconds staring at the ceiling before springing up on his feet.

'I'm not interested.'

<I thought as much>

'Go back to sleep.'

_________ _________

There were just two days left now before Unique FC would have to travel to Spain to face Real Sociedad in the first leg of the Europa Conference League quarter-finals.

That meant that they had about two training sessions left before their trip and Norman was making sure to put those to good use.

Today he was introducing something he had never tried with his team before, well, not to this degree.

There were about twenty cones spread out for a dribbling drill, and just ahead of those was a monkey bar with fifteen bars.

There wouldn't be anything wrong with ending things there, but after the bars, the cones continued, adding to a total of forty cones used in the whole set-up.

Staring at the set-up, Dave already had a good idea of how this was going to play out.

<This is going to be so fun to watch>
