Chapter 125: The Curator Arrives

Chapter 125: The Curator Arrives

Among the new batch of visitors, two of them were above Black Crow. As for that old man with the tyrannosaurus, he was obviously a side character here for kicks. If visitor number ten hadn’t shown up so abruptly, this ignorant fool would have died long ago.

Even now, Black Crow was still on guard. In the event that visitor number ten couldn’t hold off Madam Ghost Child, he planned to open his door and escape.

Black Crow had only one burning question.

Who was stronger? The phenomenal ‘curator’ or this horrifying Madam Ghost Child?

There were tons of frightening stories involving Madam Ghost Child within the villainous experts’ community.

For example, a villainous expert had once talked a little too loudly in front of her. For this reason, Madam Ghost Child pursued this expert relentlessly, but of course, the expert was no match for her so he ran away. He returned to his shared base, thinking he could rest at ease after that.

Who knew that Madam Ghost Child would charge mindlessly into their base and mangle more than ten famous villainous experts in there. It was said that all of them died tragic deaths.

There were also rumors that the infant Madam Ghost Child carried with her was actually a Rank 4 pet beast.

As for what pet beast it was, no one knew.

Because no one dared to pry open the swaddle to look inside.

Visitor number ten was tenacious. His flood dragon was also a Rank 4 and the man’s cultivation level was amazing. As impressive as he was, he had to unleash his full strength when facing Madam Ghost Child while the latter hadn’t even shown her true strength yet.

Both extraordinary individuals continued battling in the Visitation Hall.

Invoking a spell, Ye Yuzhou’s water blades flew forward, initiating the offense. In the arms of the ghastly Madam Ghost Child, her infant’s cries became increasingly horrifying.

“My poor baby woke up because of you! All of you are to blame! Everyone here has to die! Each one of you!” Madam Ghost Child shrieked.

The next instant, she let out a piercing scream.

Several invisible waves of energy instantly smashed into Ye Yuzhou’s water blades.

What followed was a chain of explosions.

The dozens of water blades shattered completely.

Ye Yuzhou’s expression faltered. Sensing danger approaching, he quickly stepped back while the flood dragon hidden in the mist behind him glided forward in an attempt to shield his master.

The foul metallic smell of blood filled the air.

While it managed to protect Ye Yuzhou, a slash wound appeared on the flood dragon’s body and it was so deep that its bones were visible.

Even its tough scales couldn’t withstand the woman’s attack.

Ye Yuzhou’s eyes widened and he held up a finger.

A white light flickered and Madam Ghost Child grunted in pain. Her shirt around the chest area tore open, but it seems like there was a force field that absorbed most of the attack. Ye Yuzhou’s blast only destroyed a small part of her outfit, causing her no serious damage.

All of this happened in the blink of an eye.

Other than Black Crow, no one else here could clearly see the exact movements of both experts.

Although they couldn’t see properly, everyone knew that both visitor nine and visitor ten weren’t kind individuals.

Madam Ghost Child looked harrowing. From the swaddle in her arms, a tiny hand suddenly appeared, and this tiny limb was covered in white fur.

Ye Yuzhou wore an equally frigid expression as he invoked a blade spell.

The flood dragon opened its mouth to shoot out a ball of water. Moving in tiny streams, the water flowed toward Ye Yuzhou, forming a long sword.

Before it completely took shape, the blade was already indestructible.

It was obvious that both of them were ready to fight to the bitter end.

Visitor eight from before, the old man with a tyrannosaurus, had his back against the wall. He looked pale as a sheet. Just now, he had even tried to pull open the door that sent him here.

But then he realized, the door wouldn’t budge.

This terrified him.

He no longer displayed that arrogant attitude he was flaunting before. He didn’t even dare to let out a peep even if he had the urge to fart. He could only endure and force it back inside his guts.

Silence.

The room was so quiet that one could hear the sound of a pin drop.

Everyone knew that this was a prelude to a deathmatch.

Right before this battle was about to resume, the tightly closed metal door on the second floor suddenly opened.

In such a situation, the creaking of the metal door almost-deafening.

Upon hearing this, the three recurring visitors, He Qing, Black Crow, and Jiang Ziqi immediately straightened up and turned to the second floor.

The other three people, the tyrannosaurus old man, Madam Ghost Child, and Ye Yuzhou also looked over.

After opening the door, Lin Jin studied the situation below.

There were three visitors from before and three new faces.

Lin Jin had no idea what happened here earlier. He was currently using a new avatar he had painstakingly put together. For this new image, he spent at least a few hours sculpting it the last time he was here.

He now had a striking build dressed in noble long robes. His black and white hair was tied up, bound in a nine-star sun and moon headgear, and his face was shrouded by a fire god’s mask.

That’s right. Lin Jin spent so much time altering his avatar only to hate everything in the end. Finally, he decided to cover his face with a mask.

A mask had many advantages.

Firstly, wearing a mask gave off a mysterious vibe.

As a curator, he had to retain some level of mysteriousness.

Besides this, wearing a mask increased the intimidation factor and Lin Jin could vouch for that. Look at all the statues of deities in temples all around. Which one of them looked normal or human?

Those faces, be it benevolent, intimidating, or hostile, could all be seen as a type of mask.

Hence, Lin Jin chose the fire god’s mask. This mask looked exceptionally domineering with a ferocious monster’s face as its base and covered entirely in crimson paint. The ever-burning flames in the eye sockets and fangs area made his image all the more daunting.

Lin Jin was quite satisfied with this image.

Feigning supremacy, he strode in with his hands behind his back and spoke in a low voice, “Welcome everyone, to my Visitation Hall.”

He Qing was the first to greet him, “Hello, Mister Curator!”

Black Crow was next. “Greetings, Curator!”

Unskilled with words, Jiang Ziqi merely lowered his head and bowed as a way to show his respect.

Compared to the three experienced visitors, the three newcomers didn’t share this ‘understanding’.

Tyrannosaurus old man wanted to lash out but he was afraid of startling Madam Ghost Child again. Thus, he could only swallow back his curses.

Lin Jin’s unannounced arrival stunned Ye Yuzhou and Madam Ghost Child as well.

The reason for their astonishment was that one of them had realized how his flood dragon had shrunk back behind the mist, trembling in fear, while the other noticed the white furry hand disappearing quickly back into her swaddle and how her ‘baby’ no longer made a single sound. It stopped crying or thrashing around but began to doze off instead.

It takes a mighty individual to be able to elicit such reactions with his mere presence.

Ye Yuzhou came to realization at once and composed himself as he looked at the ‘curator’. Meanwhile, Madam Ghost Child’s features reverted back to normal and she tidied her outfit and hair ornament before putting on a smile.

Just like that, the battle was gone in an instant.

As if it never happened before.

“Welcome, all six of you, to the Museum of Deadly Beasts. The rules here remain the same as the last time. Here, you can ask anything about pet beasts and I will answer your questions. But these answers do not come free. You will have to provide me skin, fur, or blood samples of the corresponding pet you have inquiries about.”

Once Lin Jin was done talking, He Qing raised her hand impatiently. “Mister Curator, you’re really amazing! I followed the evolution instructions you gave me and tried it out. Xiao Die really evolved after that!”

Lin Jin already noticed the tetrawinged butterfly dragon beside He Qing.

“That is normal. It’s impossible to fail after following the instructions I’ve provided.”

There was a trace of pride in his tone.

“I still have more questions to ask you, Mister Curator,” He Qing continued. As she spoke, she revealed a tiny pouch from her pocket. Opening it up, there were at least ten types of feathers and scales from different pet beasts.”
