1360 Happening 3
That was what baffled Gu Chaoyan all along – she checked on him and found that he was not in a serious state, yet she was still quite confused.
Li Qing, who had not dwelled on that previously, found that Gu Chaoyan was not wearing the right expression. So when she asked him what was going on, Li Qing realized that something must be wrong.
He asked concernedly, “Lady Chaoyan, is Duke North not doing well?”
Gu Chaoyan nodded openly.
He was not doing well, and that baffled her a great deal.
“Duke North was suffering from a serious cold when I checked on him just now,” Gu Chaoyan said.
Li Qing was confused as well. He just could not believe it.
Duke North was suffering from a serious cold?
He had checked up on Duke North yesterday when he was changing his medicine, and being a careful man he felt Duke North’s pulse, since Duke North had an open wound. However, Duke North was doing well.
What made him get a cold all of a sudden?
That was just unreasonable.
He was an experienced doctor who had witnessed too many kinds of cold. He should have detected it if that was what Duke North was suffering from.
Li Qing just could not understand.
Gu Chaoyan looked up into the sky and saw the snow.
She said, “Maybe it has something to do with the strange weather. The Saint Divine Land is undergoing a strange period, and the cold wind must be piercing into his bones.”
“…”
“We can check up on him when we reach the hostel,” Gu Chaoyan said.
Li Qing nodded.
The two did not say anything else but started to move.
Soon they would reach the hostel in Lingzhou, a populous city. The hostels were quite large, enough to hold all of them. They did not need the hidden guards to stay in the cold weather any more.
They continued to move forward in silence.
One hour later, they reached the hostel and started to settle down the horses.
Zhou Huaijin took Gu Chaoyan into the room where it was much warmer. It was getting very dark and was very cold outside.
Zhou Huaijin did not want Chaoyan to get a cold.
“We should arrive in the capital tomorrow. We should hurry up so that we can arrive before it gets too dark,” Zhou Huaijin said as he walked.
Gu Chaoyan nodded and thought about her own calculation. That should be accurate.
It would be best if they could arrive in the capital the next day.
Gu Chaoyan looked at Li Qing as they walked into the room, saying, “Li Qing, you should watch out for Duke North. We will arrive at the capitol soon so we should make sure that everything goes well.”
Li Qing nodded and went to do what he was told. He was confused and needed to figure out what was happening personally.
Zhou Huaijin took hold of Gu Chaoyan’s waist and had her in his arms.
Startled, Gu Chaoyan glared at Zhou Huaijin in surprise. “What are you doing, everyone is watching!”
“They are all working for Shadow Door, they would not dare to watch us,” Zhou Huaijin said confidently, as he refused to let go but took Gu Chaoyan into the room.
Then he shut the door after he walked in.
Sword One and Fu Bao were kept from them as they were standing outside. Zhou Huaijin did not have the intention of letting them in.
